Eddie Izzard is known for going on a tangent, but always gets back to the main story. He was fantastic last night!!
Did I laugh? Yes. but not enough. The tangents were drawn out too long and the repetitive nature of the punchlines were intellectually draining.
Eddie was EXCELLENT!! We had front row seats and I'm glad we were treated to the real comic genius that Eddie let loose last night in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Eddie gave us an inside look at his opinions, and he also delivered to us the conclusions and how he arrived at them in a hilarious show of mime and the playing of 'devil's advocate'!!
I am always amazed just being able to watch this man's mind work. He ad libs and goes off on mad tangents, putting his audience into hysterics. I had the best time! Love you, Eddie!
Where does this man get it from? It was non stop hillarious. For one man to talk and add lib for over two hours with only a fifteen minute break is incredible. Definitely the lost member of monty python.
Terrible. He stuck on one topic the entire night and it was awful. I was expecting a lot more but he was so scattered that I found it hard to even come up with a fake laugh.
Almost three hours of full on entertainment - Eddie Izzard is a performer with such intellect and his humour is unique. I laughed non-stop and left the event in awe of his energy and quick thinking.
Awesome...........now where did I put my jazz chicken?
We were totally blown away by Eddie's performance! How does he do it? Improv, mime, sound effects, and incredibly intelligent dialogue, all in one three hour performance! How we wished we had had a history teacher like him in school! Can you imagine? You would never forget your lessons, that is for sure! He has a lovely aura as well - so down-to-earth, soulful and real. Just loved him!
If you ever get the chance to see Eddie, I would not pass it up. I laughed the whole way through his telling of evolution vs creationism. The next day my sides are still hurting and I am still smiling. His mix of the insane with historical fact is truly unique. I loved it!
Eddie Izzard is one of the best comedians in the world - his Calgary show did not disappoint! If you still have a chance to catch one of Eddie's remaining Canadian shows, I would highly recommend you do ANYTHING you need to to get a ticket. Trust me, it's worth every penny! Thanks Eddie! I haven't laughed that much in a LONG time... you're the best! Come back to Calgary soon!!
Hope he had as much fun in Calgary as we did - fantastic!
I have been a fan of Eddie Izzards for many years and his DVD's don't do him justice. A must see show absolutely hilarious!!
Not his funniest night, but great anyway ... second half wasn't that great.
We laughed and laughed. It was great to get a taste of home - thank you Eddie!
My husband and I enjoyed the show. I found it amazing how his mind flipped from one thing to another. His command of language was superb. I loved how he was able to lampoon some of my basic beliefs. My husband laughed all the way throughout the show. An english couple were sitting beside us and they caught all the jokes, although I missed some. I know that English humor is sometimes subtle. Although I found there was no subtleness( if that is a word) about Eddie. Over all I was impressed by his wit and ability to take a theme and offer his insights to us. I had not heard any of his humor until the show. My son does have some of his DVDs so I will have to go and give them a listen.
While I am a HUGE FAN Of Eddie Izzard, I would have been SUPER happy if the sound in the balcony was better. I KNOW how very very very clever and talented this man is but we just could NOT hear him in the balcony. My bad for not getting tickets earlier and having floor seats but I do expect MUCH more from a venue such as the Jubilee!! Have NEVER had an issue with the Opera or theater there but somehow the sound crew BLEW for him!! Didn't help that he MUMBLED as well!! Some of the humour callled for "mumbling" but who knows if the other we evern funny cause NONE of us could HEAR HIM!!!!! Still adore and love the man though!!
Over 2 hours of laughs; Eddie's adlibbing had me clutching my sides. My face hurt from laughing so much. I hope he comes back on his next tour.
Was awesome of course! Classic Izzard, have always wanted to see him live!
His show was incredible. I was laughing the whole time. He delivers his comedy in a witty sense of humour, whilst using historical facts to support his argument. In other words, he does not dumb down his jokes and interacts with the audience cosntantly. Loved it and highly recommend people to go watch his show. It was worth every penny.
