    Edmonton Indy

by Anonymous on 2010-07-26City Centre Airport - Edmonton

We had a great time and enjoy it immensely. Falulous weather . The Penske team had the fastest cars and put on a good showing but failed to win the race. Will Powers is a great driver with lots of skill.

BudZone VIP not for viewing race

by Steve99 on 2010-07-26City Centre Airport - Edmonton

The only place to view the race was on top of a tractor trailer which of course was standing room only and obviously congested. The area was large and open but there were not enough tables with umbrellas. My group stayed in the VIP area for about 30 minutes and then we went to the Bud Zone where there were actual bleacher seats and entertainment. The two areas were virtually separate from each other. There was not enough (if any) information on either of the two Budweiser areas before the race that would have been helpful. That being said, the BudZone location was the best on the course as it is in turn one where 90% of the passing and contact occurred. It is also right where the cars come out of the pits.

    5 Years old

by Sparky424 on 2010-07-26City Centre Airport - Edmonton

The Edmonton Indy now 5 years old has become a gong show. The venues get less and less, there are no more bands or live entertainment, the gold seats have been relocated(now to loud and at the bad end of the pits). You must pay to go or do anything on the grounds and beer is still $15 for two????? I may get a general admission ticket for one day next year as those seats were better than the Golds. Way to think it out promoters!!!!

    Very interesting finish

by Hambone1 on 2010-07-26City Centre Airport - Edmonton

It was a good race but it would have been nice to see the lead change hands at several times during the race.

    Honda Indy

by Ziggy77 on 2010-07-26City Centre Airport - Edmonton

I went to the Indy 2 yrs ago and it was better than this year. There were more free give aways and the set up was better and more organized. I was very disappointed this year. Stayed only a couple of hours. Hope to see better changes for next year.

    The GTP Event Was Awesome!

by Doedoe on 2010-07-25City Centre Airport - Edmonton

We attended on the Saturday and really enjoyed the event. The GTP final was awesome with good racing drama throughout. The Indy qualifier was also excellent. Suggestions for improvement include. 1. Better wheel chair seating. It should be higher up and covered. The sun reflected off the plywood floor and made it a good place for heat stroke but not much else. 2. Run the drift event longer, slot more time for it. We were totally revved up after the warm up and then totally deflated when we realized that's all there is. 3. Return the stands on the North end of the track, in past years those were my favourite seats. They provide the best overall view of the track.

    Very cool!

by TrevorGrant on 2010-07-25City Centre Airport - Edmonton

This is just simply a great and unique way to spend the weekend with the family. For some young teenagers though, the different races and trials may not be exciting enough to hold their attentions for very long, leading to boredom and the whining. My 12 year old son and I however, had the time of our lives just hanging out in the sun watching the cars speed by. We pay attention to the laps and the times and talk strategies. The paddock passes are a must. None of the crews show any sign whatsoever of being unhappy under the "spotlight." We very much enjoy watching as the different technicians work studiously at their jobs while working on the various Indy cars. My only complaint might be of the locations of the stands. A three day silver pass got us seats at the very end of the furthest stand. For nearly $500.00 including the Paddock passes, for two, and not very good site lines, I can't honestly say that I will do this again. I can say though, it was deffinately fun! Good luck to the Octane promoters!

    Honda Indy

by hackle on 2010-07-24City Centre Airport - Edmonton

I would have to say that this being my fifth Indy of Edmonton I would say it is one of the worst organized. With only two gates it makes lines almost an unbearable.wait to get in. There is basically no off track entertainment, the so called DJ is the worst thing ever and made the beer gardens boring and unlively, definately not a world class event! I would have to say the only think that make the 2010 Indy more exciting the racing is knowing Northlands won\t be running the show anymore!
