Great game. The kids had a blast. Pretty sure my daughter is hooked.
We always have a great time at the oil kings games, so family friendly and now they have better and more affordable food for the kiddos.
My grandson, his friend & I throughly enjoy everything that was presented. The energy & excitement in the arena was all positive đ„°đvery family friendly....especially liked when they encouraged the kids to cheerđ„°đ
The section 102 row 3 is not a good seat to watch the action of a hockey game. Good place to be to see the players up close but thatâs it. Visibility to see the net is almost impossible because there are hockey sticks lined up . My 2 grandsons were disappointed in the seats. The game was not great either as the Oil Kings were not having a good game. Those seats should be giveaways. About 2 rows up would have been better
I purchased tickets directly behind the Oil Kings bench for my sons 11th birthday. Heâs a die hard hockey kid and was blown away being so close to the players as he hopes to sit in their spot one day. The coach and players winked, waved and high-fived him through the glass multiple times, which honestly made his year. The only stain on our day was the couple that was WAY over served at the bar and stumbled down to the row behind us during the third period, to have an incredibly awful drunk argument while throwing drinks and food belonging to the other patrons who had been seated there the whole game. The episode frightened my son and his friend, and they were both hit with an exploding orange pop the wasted adult male threw, while having a hissy fit when his also wasted adult female partner refused to answer him during the argument. No fault of the Oil Kings, but 100% fault of bar staff for over serving. They were beyond intoxicated and couldnât even walk back up the stairs on their own. Itâs unfortunate that it happened, but otherwise we really enjoyed the game, the atmosphere, and the event in general.
The games were an awesome excuse for date nights with girlfriend. However the results were disappointing. Although team lost Guenther and other core members, they need to relearn to take pride within team and work as 1 cohesive team again
Great family night out with school friends and family
Unfortunately they got their asses kicked Better luck next time boyz đ
We all had an amazing time together. The hockey game was great and i am very happy that we chose the game as a gift for our grandchildren for there birthdays. It was there first time at Rogers place and they were so excited to be there. Rogers place is a amazing place!
Or kids had a great time, we loved watching the players and cheering! Seats were perfect, front row right on the corner where all the players slam the boards!
Ive been attending Edmonton Oil Kings games for over 12 years now. I was a season seat holder for six of those years but had to give them up because of work. I have never had a negative experience at all. My only issues is there should be a little less tolerance for all the kids running up and down the aisle during play. Im not sure why this is allowed, but it does take away from the fan experience for the people who pay to watch a hockey game. Other than that, I will continue to support my team through thick & thin! 3x WHL Champion 1x Memorial Cup Champions 1x Scotty Munro trophy winners .. it doesnt get much better than that!!
The last 2 Oil Kings games we have attended have seemed as though we are at a kids rock concert. It's great to see the kids watching hockey and having a safe, fun outing with teams/parents but it was very difficult to enjoy the game with kids shouting, jumping around, people walking up and down during the play and people constantly standing up in front of you for the various fan entertainment. The crowd was about 70% kids and this was NOT the teddy bear toss. We have attended WHL games in Red Deer and Moose Jaw and this was not at all the same experience. People were there watching the game and there was a regular balance of kids/adults and there was control over what was happening in the crowd, shouting, people moving around during play. It's unfortunate bc i did enjoy the game but I most likely won't be back as I didn't enjoy the experience with the constant interruptions.
There should be safety netting around the whole rink!!! When I was there a hockey puck flew over and smashed a little girl in the nose that was in the front row. Poor kid probably broken
We do not regularly attend Oil Kings games, so this was a special event for us. Unfortunately, I was not at all impressed. The team is not playing well, but that was not the problem. The problem was the continuous fighting and extreme roughness. Several players had to leave due to injury, one serious enough that the game was put on hold for several minutes. It seemed to me that the coaching staff were fine with this type of behaviour. We were sitting directly behind the Oil Kings bench and I saw no attempt by the coaches to try and stem this behaviour. These are young men (boys) and if they did half of what they did on the ice outside the rink they would be charged with assault. Rightfully so. Not impressed!
Never went to games before but then we found out how cheap they are compared to Oilers and cant stop going. It fun and they really get the audience involved. They have lost every game we have been too which is disappointing but they are still fun to watch.
Hi, we loved watching the Oil Kings, seeing the Oilers is way out of our price range but it's nice to be able to experience the Oil Kings. HOWEVER, it seems a bit ridiculous that the price are SO HIGH for concessions especially since the Oil Kings seem to draw mostly a family crowd, we were only 2 people, I can't imagine if I had to buy popcorn and drinks for a whole family.
Good event to watch some decent hockey with fun for the whole family. Kids loved the afternoon out watching the game.
Extremely disappointed with safety of the lRT. Itâs sad when you donât feel safe at 13:00 on a Sunday with youâre family. seeing 3 illegal acts and no security or police on a family game day is sad for Edmonton, although the game was great I will never take public transportation again!!
-Game was semi-entertaining. (6-2 loss). -Loud Cheering when the Kings scored. -Kings may have had a better chance of winning if they would have made a goalie change sooner. -Pop and popcorn way-to-expensive. -MY BIGGEST BEEF: Employees at the order bar near section 132 were Swearing and F-BOMBING while I had my 6, 8 & 10 year old kids standing next to me trying to buy them popcorn buckets & pop. I thought a Kings game was supposed to be a true family friendly event...... Instead, Next time I'll take them to a Night Club for the same experience.
