Elf Tickets

Silly us, we thought this was a musical theatrical play based on the movie Elf. So we were very surprised when we were watching the movie with live music soundtrack. The music was excellent - but I wouldn’t have spent as much as I did, if I had known what I know now.

The CPO is always a treat. A real bonus; the CPO paired with the BEST Christmas movie had the audience in stitches!

I wish that there had been a clear write up Of this event that it was Elf the Movie with the Calgary Philharmonic…. If we had known that we would not have got tickets. Venue as usual very special.

I thoroughly enjoyed the experience of watching Elf while listening to the live philharmonic orchestra accompiament.

Honestly I love anything at the jubilee but I felt the overall experience was lacking. I feel there could be better efforts to have less of a line for the food and drinks.

I took my grandsons to see Elf in Concert. It was nice to see the orchestra prior to the movie starting so I could explain to them what was going to happen. They really appreciated seeing all of the instruments & sounds. During the movie it was hard to believe the music was live as it was amazing & sounded exactly like the film score. Great afternoon out!

This performance was a bit of a mixed bag for me. When I bought the tickets, I was anticipating a live musical extravaganza, but what we got felt more like a cinematic experience. While it was enjoyable, I couldn't shake off the feeling that I was watching a movie rather than experiencing a live production. The orchestra, undoubtedly skilled, seemed to fade into the background, their music almost becoming secondary to the visuals. Their talent was evident, yet it didn't quite take the center stage as I had hoped. While I had a good time overall, this format didn't quite meet my expectations of a lively, immersive musical experience. For me, it's probably a pass for next year.

No, this is not “just a movie”. We have to understand how much effort they put into this performance. There was zero mistake tolerance here. The tickets were at reasonable price. I haven’t yet seen any $500 ticket, maybe the other review was bringing a family of 5. Parking was not $24, I paid $7 and took 50 steps to the venue door from my car. I took one star off was because the organizer blocked quite a bit of good seats and needed a code to unlock. I don’t understand why those blocked seats were not released even after the show started. I had 2 empty seats beside me, but the rest of the house was very full. It will be also better if there were more choices on the performance times and dates. Love the Christmas spirits in this performance. We want more of these good quality shows.

I really enjoyed this I had tickets in the first balcony I had an amazing view and I laughed the entire night
