    Fawlty Towers

by manuelsympathizer on 2015-04-02Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

Started in the lobby with Basil assigning table leading to laughs and guffaws for the next 2 hrs.....Whoever did the casting did a great job...Manuel, Sybil and Basil strongly resembled the orginal cast and their mannerisms were spot on.

    Better than online reviews said

by BasilintheRatatouille on 2015-03-31Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

First the food and wine - the best comment I heard about the wine was... it's not as bad as expected. The bar setup was bizarre - order bottles and buy tickets beforehand rather than ordering at your table like a normal dining experience. This part was very bad. The food was below average. Soup inedible, chicken dry, vegetables overcooked, cake dry. Now the show - very good! A good cast with Basil the standout. They play the audience well, making sure all tables get some attention. Only minor criticism is that Sybil and Manuel's timing could have been a little crisper (IMHO). Shared a table with a wonderful group (a receptive audience is important to this type of show's success). One person at our table had never seen the TV show but said he found the dining experience very entertaining nonetheless. Much better than the reviews I read online beforehand.

    Very Enjoyable!

by Jazper18 on 2015-03-30Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

The dining experience was very enjoyable. The actors were well cast and played the roles with great enthusiasm and quick wit. Dinner was a little on the light side but very good. Keep it in mind if you're hungry. I would definitely recommend this show to friends!

Faulty Towers not to be missed!

by RossP69 on 2015-03-30Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

From the very get go, the cast got you into the spirit of the Fawlty Towers Hotel. Basil, Sybil and Manuel were perfect. Truly this was a dining experience where everyone was part of the show. Bravo!

Great for fans of the show!

by m0rdant on 2015-03-30Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

We really enjoyed our evening at Faulty (sp) Towers - and if you are a fan of Fawlty Towers you will too. Casting is amazing. The actors have really captured the character, mannerisms, and voice the originals. Basil and Manuel are particularly great. Nothing wrong with Sybil either, the other two just outshine her. The food is decent, but not the reason to be there. I'd recommend going with a group of friends and getting a table to yourselves.

    Faulty Towers Dinning Experience

It was alright. There were some funny moments but found some of it to be a little over the top.

    Great Fun

by AGDanceLover on 2015-03-27Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

The actors behaved and sounded just like those in the original cast of the TV show, and they were just as funny. They didn't do much improv, but their pre-canned routines were excellent, both those that recreated the episodes of the TV show, and those written specifically for this event. The food was edible, which is precisely what we expected -- this was a comedy show rather than a gourmet dining experience. The food was at par with any dinner-and-show meal.

    Terrific entertainment!

by raunch on 2015-03-25Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

The Faulty Towers dining experience was a great evening of fun. The room was full of belly laughs from start to finish. The actors portraying Basil, Sybil, and Manuel had done their homework and had the mannerisms of the characters down pat. The food was much better than expected. If you are a fan of the original series you will not be disappointed.

    faulty towers dining experience

by shelt on 2015-03-24Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

Not a bad experience, but an enjoyable one. Held in a basement room at the Sony center. Food was 2 out of 5. The actors who played the characters did a very good job and had many of the old favourite lines down to a T. When Basil did his funny walk I cracked up. Excellent. Wine with the meal $45.00 way out of line and was not very good. Servers were quite good.

    Great time !!

by Dannyd123 on 2015-03-24Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

The acting, the skits, the service.....all were great. The food was good, could have been warmer and portions could have been a little bigger. But all in all...a great time.

    A Hilarious Time!

by Oakvillagers on 2015-03-21Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

The characters were spot-on. I didn't stop laughing for the whole time. I loved the concept, to actually eat and be served in Mr Fawlty's dining room was an amazing experience.

The experience was amazing. The actors were very professional and friendly and they put on such a realistic show. I felt like I was actually in Fawlty Towers dining room being served by Basil Fawlty. I can't wait to do it again next year!

    Faulty Towers

by Groucho on 2015-03-17Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

After reading the reviews of this show in The Star and The Globe and Mail I was reluctant to get psyched about attending. That ended up being a mistake as the performances by all three characters were bang on both in style, voice and humour. Very entertaining, very involving and best of all very funny. It was as if I had been transported to Torquay!

    Actors were fabulous

by nutka on 2015-03-17Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

This is a fun experience if you're a fan of the show. The actors do an AMAZING job of recreating the characters and some story lines from the show. You almost forget that you're not watching John Cleese. They involve the audience just enough so if you're one that embarrasses easily, don't worry, it's not painful. The food is mediocre at best. I understand that they must have to please a variety of palettes, but there is nothing remarkable about it. It's tasty enough but very plain. I'd compare it to high-end airplane food. I guess they can't make anything too savoury or spicy. Maybe this goes with the bland British food theme? The dinner takes place in one of the conference rooms in the Sony Centre, and I guess they must be paying the actors a lot of money, because they haven't used any of the ticket revenue to decorate the space and make it seem like a restaurant or a hotel in the least. Definitely an experience worth checking out once.

    Faulty Towers not that Faulty

by WWELover on 2015-03-17Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

We've read several kinds of reviews for the show - good but mostly bad but we came in with an open mind. When we came in to the dining room, I expected a little stage where they would perform. The performers were funny and were quite entertaining. We couldn't see some of the acting since most happened around the middle of the dining area and we were sat at the back. The food did not meet my expectations with the price we paid for the tickets. I would suggest they decorate the dining area to be similar to the Fawlty Tower show and have several different size tables - tables that seat 2, 4, 6... rather than big tables that seat 10.
