About
FC Dallas History
FC Dallas are one of Major League Soccer’s original ten teams, launching in 1996 as the Dallas Burn before changing the name in 2004.The centerpiece of the Burn era was striker Jason Kreis, who was deemed the MLS scoring leader in 1999 with 18 goals and 15 assists. He won league MVP honors, the first American-born player to do so. In 2005, the freshly rebranded FC Dallas debuted in their new soccer-specific stadium in the city of Frisco and launched a three-year streak of playoff appearances, falling each time in the Western Conference semifinals. In 2010, FC Dallas played in their first MLS Cup Final, losing to the rival Colorado Rapids in overtime, 2–1. That same year, midfielder David Ferreira became the second member of Dallas FC to earn the league’s regular season MVP.
In 2016, FC Dallas went 17-8-9 and won their first Supporters' Shield for the league's best regular-season record, but was subsequently bounced out of the conference semifinals by the eventual champion Seattle Sounders. The team succeeded in adding another trophy to their case in 2016 after claiming their second U.S. Open Cup tournament victory.

FC Dallas at Toyota Stadium
FC Dallas have called Toyota Stadium their home pitch since 2005. The team played at the hometown Cotton Bowl until their 19,096-seat, soccer-specific facility in Frisco was completed. The stadium’s south end contains the National Soccer Hall of Fame, which reopened at its new location in 2018. On top of hosting events for the CONCACAF Gold Cup, Leagues Cup and 2024 Copa América qualifiers, Toyota Stadium is also the annual site of the NCAA Division I Frisco Bowl football game.
