The timeless story is emotional and compelling and has relevance for current events.

Great performance! The choreography and singing was spectacular.

  • What happened to theatre etiquette?

by Dee Dee on 2023-01-25Queen Elizabeth Theatre - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

Six of us (three couples) attended the matinee of Fiddler on the Roof, in the upper balcony, right centre. We left home extra early so there would be no chance of arriving late. Unfortunately, many other people did not do the same. From the start time of 2:00 PM until 2:26 PM we witnessed a steady stream of late-comers being seated, mostly in front of us. It wasn't all at once, disturbing us once, but one small group after another. It was very annoying and we were surprised that the QE staff would allow this to happen. The other surprising thing, is that someone nearby had brought a toddler to the show, and she kept making loud comments and talking through the quiet dialogue / songs. It's crazy enough that some parent thought this was acceptable, but for the theatre to allow it?! Eventually someone took her out. We thought the show was fabulous: acting, singing, dancing. The quieter voices (women and men speaking quietly) were very hard to hear from where we were. Over all we loved the show. Shame on QE staff for allowing such poor spectator etiquette to ruin the experience of others.

  • One of the best broadway performances I’ve ever seen!

I’ve been to broadway in New York, and this was right up there with the best of them!

  • Nice place

by Don on 2023-01-25Queen Elizabeth Theatre - VancouverRating: 4 out of 5

It is a nice theater that I have seen a few shows in and I think it is getting a bit cramped compared to some others, I know changing the seating would be a big reno so we will continue to use as it is..

  • Beautifully performed with humour and passion.

Wonderfully performed the show took us away to the small village. The characters passion, hope, and sadness was felt by all in attendance.

by Blondy on 2023-01-25Queen Elizabeth Theatre - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

The dancers were wonderful. Singing was very good. The scenery was not as good as previous shows I have seen. Overall a great production.

  • Fantastic from beginning to end!

by Di on 2023-01-25Queen Elizabeth Theatre - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

Vocals, acting, costumes, sets and dancing - all fabulous throughout. The men dancing the ‘bottle’ dance at the wedding was real special! The ‘dream’ was so fun! I walked out feeling like I’d like to go again!

  • The best ever

  • Fantastic

by Lady Rose Lynchwood on 2023-01-25Queen Elizabeth Theatre - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

Everything about the show was amazing. Wonderful performance. Love the music. Now for the bad part... Late comers coming in during the second song. I suspect this was a ticket issue. I heard a lot of people complaining about "losing" their tickets on their cell phones. It would be nice to pick up the tickets at the box office. Before performances people should be told to turn off their phones. It is rude to have their phones ringing in the middle of the performance.

  • Great performance

by AA on 2023-01-25Queen Elizabeth Theatre - VancouverRating: 4 out of 5

Great performance. No trouble with mobile tickets. The only thing that marred the event was the seating of latecomers. I missed an entire number while a large party was being seated. I will consider going to future events.

  • Enjoyed it

Didn’t know what to think. Went with no expectations. Sat a bit too far to the back but enjoyed this performance. Vocals were outstanding. Scenes are not elaborate but did the job. Overall very happy we went

  • Fast Moving

by Kerrymitt on 2023-01-25Queen Elizabeth Theatre - VancouverRating: 4 out of 5

The three hour show went by quickly. The music was great and the show followed the original story. The staff there were great making sure we got to our seats. I did see the original some 40 years ago, so it was a great effort.

  • Golda, Do you love me ? asked Tevya

by TrueHanka on 2023-01-25Queen Elizabeth Theatre - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

One of the best performances ever. I’m very familiar with the musical. It’s one of my favourite. It was like being in Anatevka with all of them, Tevya, Golda, Tzeitel, Hodel, Chava, Fyedka, even the old butcher and of course the Fiddler. Their singing and dancing brought a lot of joy and some tears to my heart. Beautiful story

  • Fiddler on the Roof -- incredible!

    by H. H. on 2023-01-25Queen Elizabeth Theatre - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

This was one of the best musicals I've ever been to. It stayed true to the original, was funny, sad and always entertaining. The main character was absolutely amazing. I would go again.
