    Fiddler exceeds expectations!

by nicklesb on 2010-01-14Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

This was my first time seeing Fiddler on the Roof and it was fantastic! I wasn't sure what to expect, but it wasn't this. The set was unique in how it changed, and rotated was unbelievable. The cast was magnificent. As a season ticket holder, I get to see a lot of shows, this is in my top 2 favorites. It was a really amazing night all in all.

    Fiddler was enjoyable.

by LongBallPaul on 2009-12-05Shea's Performing Arts Center - Buffalo

Went to see Fiddler on the Roof at Shea's Performing Arts Center in Buffalo. All of the cast members did a great job. Unfortunately Topol had to pull out of the tour due to health reasons. His understudy did a great job, but to me Topol is Tevye! This was also the first time I went to a performance in Buffalo, and I'm sure I'll go back. The ticket prices were so much more reasonable than Toronto, and the theatre is beautiful.

Fiddler on the Roof was phenomenal!

by HappyTrio on 2009-11-23Shea's Performing Arts Center - Buffalo

The performance was all that we could have hoped for, and more! The sets transported us to Anatevka; the singing voices alternated between joyful, sweet, sad and uplifting, with extraordinary musical accompaniment. The dancing perfectly complemented the mood of each scene. And what can be said of the acting?? There was not a single thing that left us disappointed. Each and every performance was fully believable - we weren't watching actors, but people who were seeing their world turned upside down, yet somehow finding the strength to carry on, holding tight to the things that matter most. A story as relevant today as ever... This would not be complete without remarking on the awe-inspiring beauty of the Shea's Centre, and the efforts toward revitalizing the majestic downtown core of your city. Two young Canadians (and one slightly older one) had a wonderful time.

Thought I'd be a little disappointed because we were going to miss Topol, but can't say enough good things about John Preece he was excellent, enjoyed every minute BRAVO to John and the whole cast .

    Highly recommend Fiddler!

by Margaretaville on 2009-11-18Shea's Performing Arts Center - Buffalo

We saw Fiddler at Shea's in Buffalo last night for its opening night. I was a little disappointed when I learned that Topol was not playing the role of Tevye. I had watched Fiddler as a little girl and simply loved Topol! However, Topol's understudy in Buffalo, John Preece, was fantastic! His voice is phenomenal, and he was flawless in the role! The supporting actors and dancers were top notch as well!

by Judy4 on 2009-11-12Boston Opera House - Boston

Haven't been to such a riveting performance in a long while! The entire cast was indeed most entertaining and the Lead Especially ! The Theatre was a Throw Back to another time and together this made for a most unforgetable event that both of us loved ! Hats off to everyone involved and as entertaining a piece, it was also very educational to say the very least. cheers!
