I recently enjoyed a performance of Fiddler on the Roof at the Northern Jubilee Theatre in Edmonton. All of the leading roles gave excellent performances, the choruses were uplifting, and the dancers were sublime. Thank you for truly memorable evening.

It was the best ever. The sound could have been better up in third balcony but overall it was great.

  • A very good Fiddler

by Dinger54 on 2023-01-08Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonRating: 4 out of 5

Costumes and Casting was very good. Seemed period authentic and displayed the feeling of the Jewish migrants of that period. The acknowledgement of Ukraine's current situation was appreciated by the audience. The singing was very professional while extolling the each character. Thriple A rating.

Great to see and hear the story and music we are all familiar with. If you have a chance to go, do so.

We took all of our adult children and our Sr moms to the show. Everyone loved it! Sound and articulation were great, everyone could hear. Sets used to powerfully send a message. Wonderful dancing, humorous and still serious.

Loved this play so much. The cast was great but Tevya was exceptional! Highly recommend this play!

  • Wonderful production

by Lori on 2023-01-07Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

I really enjoyed this musical. The performers were excellent singers and great dancers. The costumes were great. My only criticism was the set was less spectacular than expected. The fiddler was not on the roof . Also Tevye’s clothes could have been scruffier.

  • Great production.

The production and cast were excellent. They did justice to the story and portrayed the characters well. Music and vocals were very stirring. Disappointed with the uncomfortable seats as our backs and bums were very sore by intermission and again by the end of the play.

  • Outstanding

From start to finish, you will be on the edge of your seat. Funny, sad and 100% entertaining. I loved every second.

  • Fiddler

by Karen on 2023-01-06Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonRating: 4 out of 5

We enjoyed the show very much. Very poignant and sad given the political climate in Ukraine right now. This show is a tad too long for my taste and although the dancing was entertaining there was maybe a bit too much The dance segments could be a bit shorter and the audience would still get the gist

  • Great Entertainment

A classic Theatrical event with themes that are so relevant even today. This touring company really put out in their singing and acting and dance sequences. I don’t quite understand why the ticket sales online showed that our section was nearly sold out, but when we arrived, there was all kinds of available seating around us?? The Jubilee is always a great destination.

  • Historic Musical

by Felimax on 2018-01-02Festival Place - Sherwood ParkRating: 5 out of 5

First time at Festival place, seating was very good und the voices and costums fit to the theme and time.

  • Great Cast- Unprofessional leadership

by TruthBeTold on 2018-01-02Festival Place - Sherwood ParkRating: 4 out of 5

What amazing production value for community theatre. The choreography was stellar. The singing and orchestra- Wow! There seemed to be no attention paid to acting- not sure the director was qualified to do more than choreograph. From where we sat- you could see the music director/ conductor MOCKING the actors for his musicians: When they weren't playing, he was mouthing the lines of other characters with gestures. How unprofessional and unkind. The program didn't bother to list the roles each person was playing so I can't cheer specific actors and they didn't even list the composer/ lyricist for Fiddler on the Roof.

Well done, especially for an amateur production. Cast member playing Tevye was excellent! First half ran a little longer than expected. Orchestra was wonderful. Good show :-)
