  • Very well Done

by qtreviewer on 2017-12-21Festival Place - Sherwood ParkRating: 5 out of 5

This show was so very good. I have watched the movie every year since I was a child around Christmas. It's sort of a Tradition. The cast did a very good adaptation of the movie onto stage. The Band was tremendous too. As were the vocals. If you like Musicals and a great story. I Highly recommend this show.

by Tecia on 2017-12-19Festival Place - Sherwood ParkRating: 5 out of 5

Entire performance far exceeded our expectations. Excellent music, singing, acting, sound etc. Lead male was as good if not better than original star.

Was blown away by such a small production! The singing, acting was fabulous. So true to the original broadway production. Tevye, Hodel and Chava made us cry. The orchestra was perfect. The venue intimate.

It was my first time seeing the show I thought it was wonderful. My husband has seen the show several times at different venues and locations and agreed they did a fabulous job. Great job by everyone and even days after we are still humming and singing some of the tunes! Would definitely recommend 'Fiddler on the Roof'

Fiddler was good. The main character was great, but some of the supporting characters did not have the power to reach everyone in the audience.

Overall enjoyable experience. We were in the dress circle and the seats were great. Costumes and set design were very impressive. Favourite character hands down Tevey! Sound and orchestra was wonderful.

  • Fiddler On The Roof was good!

Not too bad a musical, but would have liked it to be less like a comedy, considering that it was set in Czarist Russia, with State sponsored pograms against the Jews. The music was wonderful. Overall a very good musical and i would recommend it..

  • The Fiddler was hot!!!

by Samher on 2011-05-04The Centre In Vancouver For Performing Arts - VancouverRating: 4 out of 5

Two seniors and two hip thirty somethings enjoyed the Sunday matinee performance of this venerable show. The music was familiar and ably performed by both the the orchestra and cast. It was wonderful to be able to actually sing along to some of the songs - so ingrained are they into our musical psyche. John Preece was the perfect Tevye. Special mention must be made of Jason Garrison, the Fiddler, whose virtuosity on the violin contributed so much to the performance. May the Fiddler live on forever!!!

  • Disappointed

by Freedom13 on 2011-05-03The Centre In Vancouver For Performing Arts - VancouverRating: 2 out of 5

I was expecting much more from this production. It just did not have the wow factor. It moved along too slow. The staging was very simple. The singing quality was good. I just kept thinking throughout the play that I would enjoy watching the movie again more.

What a great play!! Actors were amazing, play was full of energy and humour, props were great, and you got more than your money's worth with this 3 hour long Production! Would highly recommend it for all ages... I wish I had taken my 7 year old who would have absolutely loved it too.

  • Fiddler was So-So

by Ruby9 on 2011-05-03The Centre In Vancouver For Performing Arts - VancouverRating: 3 out of 5

Maybe my expectations were just too high. I thought the stage sets were great, and the first number - 'Tradition' - was great. But, overall, I thought it was - uneven. Possibly that was purposeful. It was just not as good as I thought it would be (and i absolutely LOVE the music) Oh, also, I didn't think the sound was as good as it should be - and I was in Row 11!

What an amazing play. We had great seats in a great venue. The cast of Fiddler were very convincing in their roles, Tevye was fantastic. If I could I would go back to see it again.
