Had a great time! So many beers and drinks to try out, the only issue was the lack of food. Typically there are about 4 food trucks, but for some reason this year just a couple concession stands to get food and no options for gluten-free. There needs to be lots of food choices when sampling so many beers
Flatlanders always never fails to impress, it’s a must go to for beer lovers out there!
I'm sure the time limits are in place to prevent people from consuming too much, but I think it would be way better to have smaller pours but more time. Enforcing some standardization at booths would also make things easier to navigate and make things go faster. The biggest improvement would be standardized signs for each beer, displayed in the same place at each booth. Key information like the name of the beer, style, flavour notes, IBU and Alc volume. The food vendors were A Little Pizza Heaven and Jets Dog don't offer a lot of variety. Little Pizza Heaven didn't even have drinks available. At an event like this, where you don't want people to become too intoxicated, it would be smart to sell water at lots of locations for a small margin, not extravagant Jets prices. The cup clean-out areas were constantly out of water, probably because people were drinking the water.
It was a great event as always. I’ve become a bit of a regular.
It was a lot of fun. Lots of selection. Really polite brewers. Some music would have been the perfect addition to really tune it into a “festival”.
We purchased advance tickets with early entry and food. The food was absoutly amazing. It was just disappointing compared to years past where it was pared with beer. You would get a plate and actually get a bit of a meal first. So i was a bit hungry off the get go since it was appies. Alos I was dissapointed to not see some staples there. Like half pints and torque. Both had hourly releases in years past. It made it alot of fun. Also Surley from Minneapolis. The best part of beer fest in my opinion is the selection of craft beer on the ice level. Thats why me and my friends go. It seems that section keeps getting smaller every year. Thats disappointing. I liked the addition of paddock wood this year though.
It was interesting and informative, we got to try many products and found sone we will buy in the future
It was incredible to be back at Flatlanders and cannot wait till next year! 0 negatives only thing I would hope for next year is for Totwheels to be back haha. It was my second highlight every year I've gone. Food option was still great but only food open was Little pizza heaven the other food option never opened for some reason? Overall tho very happy experience and catn wait to be back!
Beer selection was amazing, portions were good, very few lineups, 3 hrs is a little short, for those who want to try many and savor each one. But i understand why. Food Trucks: pretty pathetic, many people i am sure were relying on the food to help tamper the effects of "over" consuption, which can occur with over 400 kinds of beer. There were 2 trucks and 1 was closed, leaving two choices, pizza or no pizza. All in all it was good.
Good outing with friends, fun atmosphere! Servers for most part are good, security staff understand the fun of the event but are on top of things.
The best event. Better than beer can only be a lots of beer!
Really enjoyed the experience! So many different beers to try, different styles, other things like coolers and mixers. Such a great atmosphere too, all the vendors were super friendly and it was nice to be around people again.
A letdown from previous years when local brewers poured their best. Most weren't even there with their spots filled by out-of-town vendors hawking their latest seltzer drinks. Disappointing. Organizers will need to rethink their core constituency before next year.
Less than a handful of locals attended citing Flatlanders charges them too much (they're doing their own thing end of July). I found this out at the event. I was so choked. The beers were mostly national/international beers. Also they had no pro with MLCC to sell beers to take home for the first time. I expect better. Last time I go.
