    Winnipeg eh?

by Francois on 2023-05-07Burton Cummings Theatre - Winnipeg

1st time in Winnipeg. We were heading north. Being from the maritimes I found friendly Manitoba a bit different. Maybe it’s the lack of ocean air. Hey Manitoba, put a smile on your face and say hello to a stranger….. Enjoyed the Burton Cummings Theatre and laughs May 4th.

    Better Live

    by Dawn-Marie on 2023-04-13

We've been to the WPG COMEDY FESTIVAL shows as well as, the galas. If you think it is funny on TV, you should see it live! I have near peed myself laughing so hard. it is a "must see" event.

The Most Laughs I have had on a Holiday

by MOM on 2022-05-10Burton Cummings Theatre - Winnipeg

After watching the Winnipeg Comedy Show on TV for many years it was a treat to finally attend in person. As our son, Dion, was performing we were privileged to attend many of the show presented during the week. The galas provided plenty of laughs from many top-rated comedians and it was interesting to be a part of the audience for the tapings. The Mom show on Mother’s Day was hilarious, heartfelt comedy from mothers to mothers. The taping of the Debater’s was even more funny than the radio show. We indulged in many nights of laughter. All in all it was a great little “city” holiday. A well run festival, one I would highly recommend.

Some of it not so funny

by Jo on 2021-10-13Burton Cummings Theatre - Winnipeg

I saw the Debaters on Thursday night…a show I listen to faithfully and love. 2 out of 4 of the debates were really good. Alan Shane Lewis was terrible. Had he ever listened to the radio program. He sure as hell didn’t know how to debate. I felt sorry for Mike Delamont who had to try and debate opposite him as all Alan Shane Lewis was doing was talking about himself….so not funny. Lara Rae was paired up against Derek Seguin who is really funny. I will not go to any more shows with Lara Rae. The ONLY thing she seems capable of speaking about is her sex change. Everyone is totally sick of hearing about it. She used to be funny. Now her transformation act is just stale. She needs to show how funny she can be on other issues. Saw Alan Shane Lewis again on Saturday at the Burt. Hard to believe this guy is a comedian. No one was laughing. Mike Delamont was brilliant in his story about the Nordic spa. He alone was worth the price of the ticket. Some of the other performers material didn’t really jive with the supposed theme of the show.
