She sounds even better live. One of the best shows I have been to in years. Florence was awesome.
Best show ever. Exactly as I imagined it would be.
An amazing artist who put on an amazing show with what matters most, her voice. Lovely stage presence as well.
Amazing concert hands down. Seriously one of the best concerts I've ever been to.
Great performance. Quality act. Florence's live singing is pretty amazing. Two negative points: show was really short and you can't buy beer during the performance.
Great sound, perfect venue, awesome music. What more could your ask for.
Florence + The Machine was fantastic!!! So glad her voice was back to give us a killer show!!!
This is the second time I have seen Florence, and I was worried that in a larger venue she might not be able to deliver like the smaller one I saw her in last time. this wasn't the case. She has an amazing ability to almost work like a DJ - there's a flow to her show and the crowd rises and builds right along with her. Her voice is powerful, yet vulnerable. An amazing performer that I will see again and again.
Best concert I've ever gone to! I'm a huge Florence fan, and her voice blew me away and it was just as good as her cd which was incredible!!
Florence + The Machine is a great show. It's clear to see she loves performing and she can belt out the tunes like no one else. The only thing I don't like about her live is that she can't harmonize with herself, like she does on the album, but they did a good job of switching the songs up enough to make them doable but also enjoyable. In addition, they did a new song and performed the song that is on one of the Twilight soundtracks, which is not available on their album.
So we got there, were patted down and let in. The first opening act played, TERRIBLE! they were a complete rip off of the white stripes! but they only played a couple of awful songs. Then we waited for half an hour (standing) and the second act came out... I didn't think it was possible but they were even worse then the first act! they just kept playing and playing, ugh!!! we didn't know if this was to make florence and the machine sound better but either way they shouldn't have picked them to open for them. after waiting (still standing) 45 mins. finally florence and the machine came out! I wasn't sure if they would be awesome because of what I'd seen youtube of their live performances but WOW they were Terrific! so if you like them a lot then GO see it but if you kind of like them and you hate standing around I would see them somewhere else!
Florence + the Machine were fantastic...from start to finish. Florence has an incredible presence on stage and the musics effect live was unique and enjoyable. My only dislike was the venue; you have to be 6'3 plus to see the stage! Anyone under the 6 foot range.. good luck....it's unfortunate b/c alot of bands I like choose this venue. I won't go back there.
I have been to my share of concerts but Florence Welch illuminates a stage like no other. Her staggering vocals and dynamic stage presence are unmatched. Do not pass her by, at very least by her record and get a taste of her talent!
I bought my tickets for this show before Florence got on top 40 radio so I thought it would be an intimate show and a great time. I'm glad she's popular, but she gained so much popularity between the event booking and the show itself that unfortunately the venue was not big enough. The Sound Academy is a terrible venue for big shows because you can't see anything once the floor is full of people. It was packed all the way to the back bar and even from the very back with a few feet in front of us we still couldn't see her. She was awesome and put on a high energy show. She rocked out, and I would say she is even better live than on the album. Unfortunately the small size of the venue ruined the show for us. I will never see another show at the Sound Academy.
We had such a good time at the concert!! They were so amazing, wished it was a 2 hour show!
I'll start with the good- Florence is an amazing performer and it was a fantastic show. I highly recommend seeing her live if you have the change. What was the bad? Lots- first the venue is 8 and security had us smashed together like sardines in order to get inside. The first opening band came on after 9pm- it was hard to hear but they weren't too bad and then the second band came on 25 minutes later (to which everyone was upset about) and played a long and awful set. Florence didn't take the stage until 10:45pm!!! The whole time were were again smashed together like sardines and standing from 7:30pm. Tickets on ticket master said that the show started at 8 but was misleading as ticket later said show was at 9. Would I return to the venue again- definately not but anytime Florence will be coming to town, I will go and see her!
Florence + The Machine was AMAZING! Florence's voice is absolutely flawless and she rocked the stage delivering an unforgettable performance. She was gorgeous in a tight black dress patterened with sort of TRON looking patterns (it was awesome) and stomped the stage from left to right. I'd been looking forward to this event for months and I wasn't disappointed in any way, shape or form. We even heard a new song and I can't wait to hear the rest of her new stuff! Two things completely unrelated to Florence bothered me about the show: 1. The Venue. It's really out of the way and hard to get to/from. I sincerely hope artists visiting Toronto start to seriously rethink their use of The Sound Academy. 2. The opening bands. I wasn't into them at all. The first guy wasn't bad, just not my "thing" whereas the second group to hit the stage was absolutely heinous.
She has killer pipes and a great stage presence...totally unexpected! I didn't think she'd belt out the way that she did or that she would be so mobile. Loved it from start to finish
phenomenal. One of the best shows I have seen in terms of quality. Her voice was as strong, clear and in-tune... Identical to the album. Flo is brilliant
