    Florence= AMAZING....but tardy.

by arobic on 2010-11-05Sound Academy - Toronto

Loved Florence! She exceeded my expectations and I had very high expectations. Playing most of Lungs to a pumped crowd. However, the two opening acts were WAY too long and not at all qualified to preceed such a great headliner. The second act especially was so amateur that the crowd had begun booing! Also, show slated to start at 9 and Florence went on at almost 11!!! That's way too much anticipation for a show of this scale.

    Florence was INCREDIBLE!!!

    by RJT27 on 2010-11-05Sound Academy - Toronto

Best live show I think I have ever been to, venue acoustics aren't always the best, but Florence was pitch perfect, powerful and fun. Absolutely great performance, I would see her again in a heartbeat.

Florence was great! Opening acts not so much

    by JD13322q43 on 2010-11-05Sound Academy - Toronto

Florence was incredible...loved it. The only downside was the 2 hour wait for her to go on stage, and listening to 2 terrible opening acts before she did.

    Florence is a goddess

by Chevis on 2010-11-05Sound Academy - Toronto

Florence was phenomenal, she looked awesome, she sang like.... an angel, a demon, an ethereal elemental goddess! I have never experienced such power from any performance. Songs were longer than they are on the album by about double, so much added content, new songs... Best concert I have ever been to in my life! She has to come back!!

    Fantastic Performer

by Surrah on 2010-11-05Sound Academy - Toronto

Florence + the Machice was an unforgettable performance. Florence has a chillingly powerful voice and beautiful songs to showcase it. She sang almost every song from her album Lungs, and a few new and other songs. I can't wait to see her next time she's in Toronto

I was very disappointed with the time that Flo came on stage - 10:45 on a Wednesday night!! Rediculous!! Everyone there either had to get up for school or work the next day. if it was a Friday or Saturday , fine. Especially when we had to suffer through the second band - horrible like cats being torutured. Flo put on a good show with her amazing voice. I enjoyed her show in April more, but that was also a better venue at Kool Haus. Personally no more Sound Academy for me. Hate that place. Took 20 min to get out of parking lot, 10 min to get to Lakeshore, the the Gardiner is closed. Wednesday night got home from concert at 1:30 - crazy. No room to move at S.A. Flo you are the coolest, - but next time pick better venue, come on earlier and get better opening acts. the opener at her last show was terrible as well. We might not see her at a small gig, she is getting big now. SNL on Nov 20. Plus on Dancing with the stars a few weeks ago. She is hitting the big time. You go girl!!

    Awesome show!

by invertedworld on 2010-11-04Sound Academy - Toronto

The show started out a little disappointing with two opening acts that weren't all that spectacular, and a lot of waiting for the stage to be all set up, but once we were past that it was amazing! Florence has such a great stage presence, she really knows how to keep the crowd's full attention, and how to keep them involved. She had us singing along and jumping up and down and raising our hands during Rabbit Heart (Raise It Up). Overall, really really fun concert.

    A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!

by sh0egal on 2010-04-16Commodore Ballroom - Vancouver, BC

Let me start off this review with ... WOW! I was lucky enough to be in the front row, and all I can say is Florence is an unbelievable talent and just so fabulous live! She's such a vibrant performer, I've never seen such a bouncy musician live in my life. She was moving around and dancing so much that her microphone cord kept getting tangled, and the crew had to keep coming out to untangle it, meanwhile Florence was completely oblivious. I was lucky enough to snag her show setlist that she handed into the crowd at the end of the night. I wonder who got her drumstick?? ;) The crowd was amazing! The energy was intense. You could tell everyone was having an awesome time!

Florence and the machine was absolutely AMAZIING!!

by kahlan on 2010-04-12Kool Haus - Toronto

Wow!!!! boy can they and especially florence put on an amazing show. There were so many more people there than i expected and it was indeed a little crowded and slightly clostophobic at times but it was amazing. i saw the group HIM last week and well this show smoked then like crazy. So happy that i went.

    Amazing show.

by Anonymous on 2010-04-12Kool Haus - Toronto

Florence Welch's voice is amazing. Just as good as she is on her CD and the songs just grow on you every time you listen to them. She came out for an encore and the crowd went wild. One of my favourite things about it was that the audience was very broad, with young and old and a couple families even. Although it is not my favourite place, the venue was decent and met the needs of the concert.

    Florence was amazing!

Florence and the machine actually sounded better in person than their album! This girl can ROCK! And perform at the same time. Not one second of it was dull!

    Florence is a Machine!

by fashjunkie on 2010-04-11Kool Haus - Toronto

Even though the show started a little later than scheduled, all was forgotten when the band emerged. Florence's stage presence was so intense; her vocals were spot on. The interaction with the crowd also increased the likeability of the show as Florence drew everyone in with jokes, crowd jumping and singing with her. Every time I listen to Florence and the Machine songs I am amazed by the sound, and when hearing it live, I was ten times more impressed!

Florence was the bomb (dot) com.

by IngridB on 2010-04-11Kool Haus - Toronto

Not knowing how much of a beautiful amazon lady Florence is on stage, we were blown away by the unforgettable music played that actually sounded better than the album. That's when you know a band is super-good. Great performance, lots of love was in the air (we all wanted to have her children by the end of it) and a fabulous evening had by all. We hope she'll be back again soon. Oh, and the ticket price was stellar as well.

    Florence was Phenomenal!

by Mmaxiumus on 2010-04-11Kool Haus - Toronto

This concert blew my mind, there were so many unforgettable moments. Florence's voice is incredible, I don't understand how she doesn't just destroy it by singing like that. She performed the whole CD, and made songs that I previously had barely listened to amazing (Hurricane Drunk, Blinding). Blinding was performed in such a cool way...the lighting effects were great, and Florence's physicality on stage really makes the show. By the end she had pretty much the whole audience yelling, clapping and jumping around for her. She performed the entire CD except for one of my favourites, Girl with One Eye, which was a disappointment. SHe also didn't play another one of my favourites, Bird Song, but that's understandable because it's only on the Deluxe CD. The opening act was meh, but they didn't play too long which is nice, but neither did Florence (I guess she can't give like 2 hour shows, her voice would be wrecked). Anyways, it was probably the best show I've ever been to (better than coldplay, kings of leon, killers, even better than stars)

Great sound, great energy, unforgettable concert. They covered most of the songs from "Lungs" including one from the Deluxe edition. Florence has an amazing voice.
