    Amazing!!

by Sammiches on 2020-03-11Burton Cummings Theatre - Winnipeg

I grew up watching the Fred Penner Show and now I get to share him with my son. The show was so good, Fred has not lost his storytelling or voice. It was nostalgia at its finest. The Burton Cummings Theatre, as always, is not the best venue for children with all the stairs and small lobby but it is what it is.

    Magical man

by Ivanka on 2020-03-11Burton Cummings Theatre - Winnipeg

You could be an infant, teenager, or 106, and this man would still bring you joy. I went with my Saskatchewanian partner, because he'd never seen him before... We weren't the only adults without kids 😂! It was great. And surprising to know how many words you can remember from childhood!

    I LOVE FRED PENNER!

by Neen on 2020-03-11Burton Cummings Theatre - Winnipeg

My family and I truly loved seeing Fred Penner perform. I adored watching his show as a child and I was thrilled to be able to share him with my own kids. I love how he sang a great mixture of newer and older songs and I especially love how his kids were part of the show! I truly hope that Fred will continue to make music and perform for all the generations who love him!

It was ok... expensive afternoon for a 1.5 hour concert

by Jolene on 2020-03-11Burton Cummings Theatre - Winnipeg

He was good... Nice to hear the old songs again. Wasn't worth it for a nearly 2 year old kid

    The Cat Came Back

by For old times on 2020-03-11Burton Cummings Theatre - Winnipeg

The show was great! The audience not so much. Adults who no intention of listening to the music should sit in the lobby and wait. Two women in front of me talked through most of the show and were loud enough that I heard their conversation more than the lyrics of Fred’s songs

    Wonderful, as always

by SMM on 2020-03-11Burton Cummings Theatre - Winnipeg

Another excellent show by Fred! Very engaged with the audience, fun song selection, and I loved the audience requests at the end. Thank you, Fred, for continuing to share your beautiful talents with all of us. I love that I can share your music with my children.

    Canadian Treasure Wows Kids

by K. on 2020-03-07The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

Fred Penner's vast experience and gentle rapport with a large audience of young children made for a memorable concert. The video backdrop was beautifully paced and worked well with his songs and music. The ties to Canadian culture were lovely. Ticketmaster should make a donation to repair the hole in the ceiling of the historic Danforth Music Hall - right front corner.

Fred Penner is a wonderful performer! Venue only okay

by Jules on 2020-03-07FirstOntario Concert Hall (Formerly Hamilton Place) - Hamilton

Fred Penner is a fantastic performer for both children and those who accompany them. He sounds great, and his songs are accompanied by some background pictures that help when you are seated too far away to see him clearly. The Studio is a fine venue size, but we were seated in the balcony (intentionally booked I admit) and it was dark and a bit treacherous to navigate. Not a lot of walking space in front of seats and the barrier in front of the seats were not good enough for small children. This is a challenge for a venue that wants those seated to see the stage below, but because the seats are on the floor instead of raised, the barrier openings were scary to see children move towards. Even though they were accommodating a change of venue where people had booked balcony seats, it would probably have been best to put everyone on the floor.

    Wonderful!!

by Grammaof7 on 2020-03-06The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

My three youngest granddaughters went to the Fred Penner concert in Toronto. And they loved it. The 7 year old just wanted to talk to him and hug him, but Mom said it probably wasn't possible. But Fred made it happened with the meet & greet afterwards. He is the kindest and warmest man. Made that little girl's first concert something she will never forget.

    Great concert- bad communication

by S. Ludwig on 2020-03-06The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

Fred’s concert was beautiful, magical and everything we hoped a celebration of 40 years might be. But the experience started off sour when we arrived at the venue for a 5 o’clock start only to be told that the concert didn’t start until 6pm. The tickets should have clearly said Doors Open, 5pm; Concert 6pm. Young children should not be made to wait an hour for a show, especially around supper time.

    Phenomenal concert experience

by K7 on 2020-03-02Algonquin Commons Theatre - Ottawa

Fred Penner is an incredible storyteller and musician, as well as a class act and a warm presence. While we went as a family (our toddlers both love Fred'a music and original CBC show), I would have absolutely enjoyed the concert without kids for a date night or with friends. If you have the opportunity to go and enjoy a performance by Mr. Penner in person, I highly recommend you do so. This is now a cherished memory for my family and I.

    Making Memories

by MommyDayDate on 2018-10-03Arden Theatre - St Albert

Great show, kinda loud for kids. Wasn’t as long as I’d hoped, but I understand that kids don’t sit as long as adults. I was hoping he’d play a little more of his older stuff from MY childhood, but I was glad to share his music with my son.

    Still making us smile!

by klj1960 on 2017-12-19Burton Cummings Theatre - Winnipeg

We took our children to Fred Penner many times when they were young. It was such a joy and pleasure to be able to take our 4 year old granddaughter to his show recently. He is still the same kind, gentle man with an obvious love for what he does. Kindness and caring are the theme to most of his songs, something the world could use more of.

Leave political thoughts out of kids concert

by RocPile on 2017-05-13Centennial Concert Hall - Winnipeg

Good until he started speaking political near the end. I don't think a children's concert is an appropriate place for this.
