    The Fire Was Friendly

by robofan on 2011-10-20Commodore Ballroom - Vancouver

The show was energetic and upbeat it was the second time I've seen Friendly Fires the last time was at Richard on Richards in 2009 The band has matured alot and would rival many of the big name acts of today! They were a classy group and had alot of stage presents and the opening act was enjoyable as well Cheers!

Amazing from start to finish - ashamed to say I didn't know The XX before this show, but I can tell you, I know them now! Haunting and amazing! Friendly Fires looked disappointed by the lack of enthusiasm in the crowd. My friend and I tried to make up for it, and it was all genuine. What a performance!

    Friendly Fires! Shake shake shake!

by chelseka on 2009-12-04The Phoenix Concert Theatre - Toronto

This is the second time I've seen the Friendly Fires this year, and they didn't dissapoint. They had a brass section this time around which made the music even more exciting than last time. The crowd at this venue was a little less fun than the crowd at Lee's but it was still a great time. And the opening band XX was fantastic too!

    Too loud

by RichPa on 2009-12-04The Phoenix Concert Theatre - Toronto

Everyone talking over the XX ruined it for me. And why didnt they play crystalized? Friendly Fires had a lot of energy

    Friendly Fires

by shay1976 on 2009-12-03The Phoenix Concert Theatre - Toronto

Friendly Fires went up in flames!! From the terrible vocals, ridiculous hipster dancing...will not go see them again. However, some good did come from attending this concert. I got to see The XX perform and it was their Toronto debut...they're incredible...not a ton of stage presence but their overall sound quality was amazing...too bad people kept talking through their performance...they're going to be huge!

A fantastic show! High energy, and a great set. The opening band the xx were also amazing. It was one of the rare occasions where two AMAZING bands played together. It was a not to be missed show!

Friendly Fires great, venue sound not so friendly

by Jellyfunk on 2009-12-03The Phoenix Concert Theatre - Toronto

The band was great but the sound quality did not do them justice. It was a messy wall of sound and really needs some attention if the Phoenix plans on staying around in live music. Great band, poor venue.

    AMAZING

by Bosh on 2009-12-03The Phoenix Concert Theatre - Toronto

I saw this band in Wales last year and as soon as I heard they were playing in TO, I knew I had to go again. SO good live, SO entertaining, and downright FUN! Go to a show with the Friendly Fires and you'll be a fave for life.

    AWesome!

by KROW44 on 2009-12-03The Phoenix Concert Theatre - Toronto

The XX were totally mesmerising. I'm really excited to see where they are in 5 years, I think they have serious potential. Both of the singers voices gave me nothing but goosebumps over my whole body. And the dude playing the drum machine was amazing! Friendly fires were SO much fun, LOVE the energy they give, a lot different from the XX so it was a nice balance. GREAT songs, love the dancing, I had so much fun, they are a wicked band. Overall it was a really cool show, I definitely would reccommend seeing both bands :)
