About

fun.'s chart-topping indie pop anthem "We Are Young" was everywhere in 2012, earning the band overnight success and one of music's highest honors: Best New Artist at the 2013 Grammy Awards. The song took home the Grammy for Song of the Year, and, along with anthemic hits like "Carry On" and "Some Nights," propelled the band's 2012 sophomore album Some Nights to the No. 1 position on both the Rock and Alternative Albums charts. Lead singer Nate Ruess formed fun. in 2008 following the breakup of his band The Format, teaming up with Jack Antonoff and Andrew Dost to write and record the band's demos. The trio's first single "At Least I'm Not as Sad As I Used to Be" came out in April 2009, quickly followed by the release of their debut album Aim and Ignite, which received praise for its progressive and theatrical pop sound. After opening for Paramore on their 2010 tour, fun. headlined their own U.K. tour before returning to the studio to record their sophomore album. The result, 2012's Some Nights, peaked at No. 2 spot on the Billboard 200, garnering critical praise and spawning platinum-selling smash singles "We Are Young" and the album's title track. On tour in 2013 with Tegan and Sara, the band treated ticket buyers to energetic live concerts of both old and new material, building anticipation for the release of their third studio album in 2014.

Tegan and Sara were amazing! The sound and energy was great. The venue was good also. I always love outdoor events. This one was particularly excellent because it was long; we saw 4 bands and got to make a day out of the concert! I'm not a fan of Fun. but their performance was entertaining for those who enjoy their music, I suppose.

    Fun. was absolutely amazing!

by KyRodgers on 2013-07-10Downsview Park Allen Road - Toronto

I was a little worried about the venue as the concert was at downsview park. I am quite short and find standing venues a little difficult to deal with. My friend and I showed up 2 hours before doors opened and essentially went straight to stage when we got in so we were in the second row from the fence. It was unbelievable. I was so happy that it worked out and I was able to see the band. Nate Ruess is such an amazing singer live and the band was great. Couldn't have asked for a better time. Best concert I've ever been to.

VIP was NOT AT ALL worth it

by Marlene45 on 2013-07-10Downsview Park Allen Road - Toronto

The performances were great - Tegan and Sara were phenomenal and fun. was better than I anticipated, but the VIP was an absolute complete waste of money. The "priority" seating was far away from the stage, meaning I paid extra to stand further than anyone who paid for a considerably cheaper general admission ticket. Premium vendors meant ONE vendor with the same priced food as every where else - same with drinks (11$ for a beer).

by Hitman on 2013-07-10Downsview Park Allen Road - Toronto

While I originally bought the tickets to see Tegan & Sara, I was blown away by fun. Only knowing a few of there songs, they were by far and away the best performers I have seen in a long time. Awesome show! And loved seeing Tegan & Sara again... they are always fun to see live.

Fun: the concert of a lifetime!

by Bananaphone on 2012-09-03The Odeon Events Centre - Saskatoon

Loved loved loved this show! I feel like going to this show was comparable to attending a Queen concert! The energy coming from the band was enormous; it really felt like they were loving every second of it. The lighting added so much to the show, it was very dynamic. Most importantly, though, their vocals were spot on! I was amazed at the quality and flexibility of Nate's voice. It's always a nice surprise when your favourite band is even better in concert than they are on CD. This band is a must see! I can't wait for them to come back to Saskatoon. Had so much "fun"!

    what an amazing night!

by Beyatreese on 2012-05-02The Guvernment - Toronto

I couldn't stress just how much I love this band, and how absolutely amazing they were! Nate, Andrew, and Jack was just an absolute pleasure to watch. They performed with so much passion, and energy, and love for their work and their fans. Their gratitude to the multitude of fans that were present that night was just so overwhelming. $25 to see this band is a steal. I will definitely pay, without a doubt, twice (or even thrice) the amount to see them again live. I am definitely looking forward to the next time they come here to Toronto :)
