  • Pretty good, but no rock tunes

by Terp on 2024-05-29History - TorontoRating: 3 out of 5

Focused on the new album (of course), played mostly blues and soul, but disappointed that he didn't play anything from his rock repertoire. History is an excellent venue.

  • Excellent!

Gary Clark Jr did not disappoint. Great music and very interactive with the crowd. Opening act of Abraham Alexander was a game changer. Absolute star!

  • Awesome

by Vangeli on 2024-05-26Rating: 5 out of 5

This will be the best concert you'll see in a long time. GCJ is a talent of the ages. His band is incredible, he is incredible. Saw him at the Artpark May 25, 2024. I'll never forget it. Abraham Alexander is fantastic as well.

  • Fantastic voice

by Juls on 2019-09-16Malkin Bowl - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

The concert was absolutely amazing Gary Clark Junior is fantastic . My only concern was I could not find out if we could take chairs with us or not . We carried our chairs from the car to the concert and had to return them back to the vehicle . Beside that it was fantastic

  • Awreome musician, terrible venue

by Marko on 2019-09-14Malkin Bowl - VancouverRating: 3 out of 5

Gary is the best, Malkin Bowl, not so much. No seating (as in standing only), $8 beer (they ID'ed me first, and I'm 61 - you can't make this up), and porta-potties.

  • I was too young to see SRV live

by Scotia on 2019-09-13Malkin Bowl - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

I was 12 when SRV died, but I already loved him. I've hit many concerts over the years, and been underwhelmed a lot of the time. The Gary Clark Jr concert gave me a rush comparable to when someone gave me a 150mph ride on a snake-bend road in their Acura NSX. *Chills* He has the swagger, style and skills of ghosts from the past, but doesn't stick to one genre....he can really pump it out. Sure, there were some lulls, and I would have loved to see him play Catfish Blues, but his original material is killer and I think his version of 'Come Together' is the best I've ever heard.

  • TOP SHELF - what a show. WOW!!!

by Ginger on 2019-09-13Malkin Bowl - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

What a way to cap the summer outdoor concert season for 2019. On a Tuesday night even!!!! OMG. Serious rock n roll. I got goose bumps. I've heard the buzz about him and only knew a handful of songs. I see a lot of shows every year and he certainly blew me (and the crew I was with) away. OUTSTANDING

  • Amazing

by Treated.. on 2019-09-13Malkin Bowl - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

I hadn't heard of Gary Clark Jr until about a year ago ,when my husband introduced me to his music. To be able to see this amazing artist up close and personal at the Malkin Bowl was truly spectacular. Boy can he play guitar and SING... Thank you to Gary Clark Jr and his band for putting on a magical show...i would definitely go to see them again and again and again..❤❤❤🎶🎶🎶

  • Coulda lived without it

by Dayna on 2019-08-07Meadow Brook Amphitheatre - Rochester HillsRating: 2 out of 5

I was expecting some blues music and what i got was some techno/rock/im not sure, kinda music. I think alot of people were expecting something a little more bluesy. I seen gary clark last year in toronto and i enjoyed that show alot more.

  • Too Short!!!

Great night. Great show. Great venue. Only down fall is it ended an hour early, Gary needed a third hour.

  • Nothing is like a live Gary Clark Jr. show!

by ApostolicPants on 2018-10-12The Fillmore - San FranciscoRating: 5 out of 5

What Gary Clark Jr. has done over the past five years, and probably longer, is honed his live performance into something truly remarkable. Watching the evolution of his live shows over the last five years has been like watching the forging of a Japanese sword as each song has been worked, reworked and refined, the showmanship perfected and an entire set shaped into something as precise and uniquely crafted as one of those sharpest and strongest of blades. It literally has to be seen and heard to believe how good he is. The Fillmore West is an amazing venue. Sound is exceptional and good viewing angles from all directions. It earns and keeps its designation as an historic concert hall every night.

Worth every penny. One of the most soulful performers out there.

  • Gary Clark Jr. was amazing!!

by Pizzaburger on 2018-08-11The Danforth Music Hall - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

The Danforth music hall is one of the best places anywhere to see a concert. We were able to stand in the second row for the entire concert. It was great. The venue was full. Gary played for almost 2 hours. Finished with the Beatles cover "come together". Gary has the complete package - guitar skills, voice and charisma.

  • GC Jr is an amazing artist!!!

by Patchito on 2018-08-10The Danforth Music Hall - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

I was blown away by the live performance, I think it even sounds better and more soulful in person. GC Jr connected with the fan during the entire show.

  • Wow

by SSCC on 2018-08-10The Danforth Music Hall - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

TRUELY amazing, Only knew one song (Church) before this concert and I was totally blown away by his talent and ability to be one with the guitar and the crowd. Reminded me so much of SRV and Jimi H and how he became part of the guitar. PLayed for a long time and keep everyone on edge with his show. I would 1000% see him again as by and far does Austin Texas Blues a real honour. A real mix of slow and fast and you will enjoy it trust me.

  • Great, high energy show

Saw Gary Clark Jr a few times and on this evening he killed it!!! Amazing!!! Non stop energy and that guitar playing cannot be beat. He accompanies himself with a great band to boot. Kudos to all.
