  • All sorts of meh

Clearly, I don't share the popular opinion. I wanted to like this show but I found his interaction with the crowd annoying and off-putting. I'll admit that he is a good guitar player but his ego was way too big for the stage. Overall I was never impressed with the performance so I left halfway through the show. The one thing I'm thankful for was being introduced to Black Pistol Fire, Clark's opening act. Those guys were amazing and I would definitely recommend seeing them live if you have the chance.

  • Gary Clark Jr....my muse!

by noona on 2017-06-18The Danforth Music Hall - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Set a reminder if this soulful guitar player ever comes on tour your way....he does not disappoint. I was fortunate enough to be front and center for his electrifying performance. His slow soulful ballads, powerful rock renditions, and way beyond his years rythmic blues leave no doubt that this guy has skills rivaling the likes of BB King and Buddy Guy. Don't let his cool, calm demeanor fool you; when he releases you will feel every note in his voice, every chord strummed from his guitar, or every pitch echoed from his harmonica. The band collectively play off each other and have a sound that works magically together. I purchased guitar picks in the hopes that by some miracle I can emanate his sound....wishful thinking...

  • Clark Jr./Black Pistol (were on) Fire

by JohnnyQ12 on 2017-06-17The Danforth Music Hall - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

It was an amazing night of tremendous guitar, soul, blues and rock music! Gary Clark Jr. absolutely has it going on. When Eric Clapton extends an invitation to the Crossroads festival that is an obvious sign of greatness!! Clark Jr. is probably one of the only musicians that would have the nerve to have Black Pistol Fire open a show. They were also electric, an amazing surprise! Just rocked the house. Gary Clark Jr. is a never miss for me and my 20 year old son. Enjoy!

The guy killed it, I've never seen anyone shred as much as Gary did while keeping the crowd into it. 100% would see again

Amazing show. Venue was perfect for this type of concert. The opening act Black Pistol Fire was intense and so amazing. and Then Gary Clarke Jr, was sexy, entertaining and intoxicating in his music.

Yes you should see Gary Clark Jr!! BUT the sound at the venue was not great. After seeing Gary Clark Jr previously we were a bit annoyed that the sound at humphreys did not showcase the same greatness

  • Outstanding

by sloride on 2016-04-15Commodore Ballroom - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

Gary came out and started with a slower blues number and gradually cranked it up throughout the show. He played for nearly two hours including a three song encore. It was a great show and you should be see him if you can.

  • Gary never disappoints

  • Gary Clark Jr oozes talent!!

by Pewee on 2013-11-27The Danforth Music Hall - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Remember his name, infuse yourself in his music and forget the world around you! This is one talented musician! I was never used to be a fan of the guitar but I could listen to GCJr solo for hours. It won't be long before the rest of the world catches on and when they do ... Watch out! He is way more talented than being the opening act for Kings of Leon and he will blow their audience away!

  • Gary Clark Jr. & The Wild Feathers

by Forerunner2 on 2013-11-22The Danforth Music Hall - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Great show & great sound. The Wild Feathers were good too. And, played for a whole hour.:) As far as Gary Clark Jr., his show was what I expected. A mix of EVERY type of music & he played his music & other great tunes. ALL in his own style. What was so refreshing about both acts was that there were no smoke, pyro, etc. It was just good, talented musicians playing their instruments with talent, love & conviction.

  • Amazing show!

Gary Clark Jr. put on an excellent show. This guy can really play, and the band was tight

  • Disappointing

I've heard so much about Gary Clark Jr. I like his album. I thought he'd have some fire in a live setting but it was just middle of the road the whole way through with one or two bursts of energy. Really wanted to like it but the show was...meh

One of the best concerts I've been to. The commodore is as always, an amazing place to host a show. Gary Clark and his band were phenomenal. I love the fact that it was a completely sold out show and everyone in the room was just jamming out to some smooth blues.
