    Did the last domino fall?

by Katiem on 2021-11-30Centre Bell - Montreal

Bittersweet! Great set, great music, great audience. Got the feeling Phil felt this was the finale- when he said - we’ll never forget you. Just wished everyone would leave their masks on- security could be more vigilant. Even though it’s hard to breathe trying to sing and dance! Oh well- great to be back- live!!!!

    Great show!

by James on 2021-11-30Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

We attended the concert and had a great view from our seats! Phil gave a great performance but it did pain us to watch him in his frail condition but you have to give him HUGE props for still coming out and performing. Banks and Rutherford were fantastic and Phil's kid, Nic, was great on the drums! If you closed your eyes, you'd swear it was Phil playing and not him. We were slightly disappointed that they didn't play any of Phil's solo career hits (like In The Air Tonight for example) but I can totally understand why b/c it was a genesis show, not Phil Collins show.... but still... they could have played a couple b/c this will most likely be the last time that Phil will ever tour again in his lifetime...

GENESIS concert: An outstanding experience, an amazing show!

by DaveK on 2021-11-30Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

Arriving at Scotiabank Arena a bit early on Friday Nov. 26, we were pleasantly surprised at how efficiently and pleasantly the check-in (e-ticket, Covid protocols) procedures were performed. Kudos to the staff! Once inside the arena, the ushers were all very friendly and helped us find our floor seats. Genesis appeared on stage a little after the stated starting time, like most other concerts, to a rousing reception by the almost capacity audience. The sound system, as expected was superb, and the video and light show was just, sooo Genesis…fantastic! Over two hours of their hits, medleys including some old 70’s songs, and their long standards. Even at 71 years old, Mike Rutherford and Tony Banks are still on their game. Phil Collins, although physically hampered and sitting down to sing showed his sense of humour and frontman presence. The two back-up singers did a great job filling in and hitting the higher, longer notes that Phil struggled with a bit. Daryl Steurmer hasn’t lost his touch, and his Firth of Fifth solo was amazing! Nic Collins is a chip off the old block and can fill in for his Dad anytime on the drums…very impressive percussion, Nic! The audience was a treat, and enjoyed singing along with the famous Genesis hits! They respectfully listened to the concert, and seldom left their seats, thus avoiding disruption to others. It was really nice to see that the audience consisted of a wide variety of ages, not just the old “gaffers” from the 1970’s and 80’s. Probably means that those “oldies” have passed on their love of Genesis music to their kids!!! I believe that Genesis music will last forever, long after they no longer play as a group. Overall, couldn’t have asked for a better concert experience! Thanks to the staff at Scotiabank, the enthusiastic audience, and of course, thanks to the crew and Genesis for what has been termed their farewell tour (the Last Domino?). Having listened to Genesis since 1969 when I was a teenager, this was a very special evening for all my family (three kids and their wives)…All eight of us were thrilled!

    Nostalgic Genesis finale

by Peter on 2021-11-30Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

Although Phil Collins' voice isn't what it used to be, and he's looked better physically, they still put on a good show, filled with nostalgia for one final tour. Tony, Mike, and the rest still play well, and Phil's son Nik hits the drums as good as Phil used to. It was a little sad for it to end, as it felt an end of a era, the music I grew up with.

    Amazing concert, very poor seating

by Big guy on 2021-11-30Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

Scotiabank seating is very poor, to the point of fat-shaming people. I couldn't fit on the seat, had to barely seat at the edge of the seat just to not stand up in front of other people.

Concert was AMAZING. Would love to see Phil perform again!!

by Maria on 2021-11-30Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

Concert was great. This band is timeless. I was hopeful that Phil Collins would have performed his classic "Air in the Night" but I know it was a Genesis concert and not him alone but the whole concert was AMAZING. Hi son on drums was incredible-so talented.

One of the best concerts i have ever seen!

by Jacquelyn on 2021-11-30Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

I was a bit concerned when I saw Phil hobble out with his walking stick but as soon as he opened his mouth there was no doubt---his voice is as strong as ever. It was an amazing concert, so glad i saw them before they pack it in.

    Wow!!!!

by Kirkygal on 2021-11-30Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

What an amazing concert! From start to finish it was an awesome performance. Phil Collins especially I feel deserves a heartfelt appreciation for what the way that he performed, never missing a beat and still has the hilarious dry sense of humour. For those that didnt make the concert......you missed one hell of a night.

    Truly Awesome

by ZingleBell on 2021-11-30Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

At first I was skeptical about going to see these geriatric rockers that I once admired. I was a diehard fan of the band after hearing Trick of the Tail when I was 15 years old. From that point on the Genesis of Gabriel, Hackett and these three guys was the prominent soundtrack in my life. Admittedly, that quickly changed as Phil Collins and Top 40 agendas took over the band. Not that the tunes weren't good, it's just they didn't speak to me like the early stuff. Fast forward 30 years or so, a friend suggested going to this show. I had the money and the time, and, after all, Phil, Tony and Mike were 3 fifths of the original. Also, seeing Phil Collins having health problems in his 70's made it seem like the last chance to see them live. End result, for this fan, It's rekindled the 15 year old in me an a thirst to revisit my whole Genesis experience. I’m so glad they played a well rounded set of their vast repertoire. These guys are some of the best musicians, composers, performers… well, generally all around good guys of our time. I Absolutely Loved the Show! And dropped my cranky old grudge about how the band went. I’m a fan again lol!

    Drunk guy beside me

by Walter on 2021-11-30Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

Drunk beside me. In my space. Standing in front of me. Banging into me. Grinding his girlfriend in front of everyone including me. Sitting on part of my leg and my chair. So i was kind of distracted.

by HelloMe on 2021-11-30Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

The concert was the best, just to know that we are coming back to normality, the venue was super neat and all clear , seats clean and no mess around, way out was packed but it was almost full venue, the only issue was the app from ticketmaster, never worked, needs to improved , it's the one to acrry the mobile ticket, for me never worked. Thanks guys!! Keep working .

    Amazing Concert - Good Venue

by LufromCalab on 2021-11-30Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

Being a nearly 40 year fan of Genesis, I cannot say enough positive about their set. The Venue; It was a typical sports stadium, so access to the seating area from the concession area / entry foyer was not surprising. One thing I would ask, since we received so many emails about entry requirements, is that there is more clear information where from the outside of the building we are supposed to enter. The indication in the emails was that we were supposed to enter from a specific gate, so that we don't all line up at the same gate, but the tickets that I had from Ticketmaster did not have a gate number above the bar code, and I was not able to find any information on the stadium site. I tried calling the posted number for the arena, but there was no answer from a human, to assist with the question. In the end, I spent time searching the TTC site, Google Maps and the Ticket Master seating map, to find where I was supposed to enter. Better info for this sort of thing would be helpful. Also, I understand the need for security but, if you're going to have security in place, then they should be properly trained for screening. I was able to pass through security without any challenge or search, in spite of the fact that I took my jacket off and put it on the table outside the metal detector. Had there been any real training for the screeners, they would have requested that I either wear my jacket through the detector, or they would request to do a physical screening of my jacket. In the end, the only thing that they would have found would have been my backup power bank, two pens and a set of travel chopsticks, but it was clear that security would not have been able to keep a serious weapon out of the arena on that night.

    It was a satisfactory experience!

by SM on 2021-11-29Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

The first part of the concert you could tell Phil needed time to get into his element and really put on a show; he was able to do just that and in the end it was all I expected it to be and so pleased I went! They were a bucket list band for me
