Genesis brought T.O. Back to Life!!!

by Kimber on 2021-11-29Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

After waiting several months and being in lockdown many times, my son and I were so happy that this show was not postponed or cancelled for Toronto. The arrangement of the screens was fantastic, it gave those of us in the 300's a clear view of all the band members. Although I did prefer seeing Phil 3 years ago as a solo performer, I was very happy that he was able to reunite with Genesis to give this very memorable Last Domino performace. A Huge shout out to Nic (Phil's son) on the drums - you were AMAZING!!!!!

    Post Pandemic Concert

by Mathew on 2021-11-29Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

This was my first rock show since the covid19 pandemic and I’m so glad Genesis was able to break the seal for me! They performed an amazing set of a little over 2.5 hours with many jokes and games from Phil throughout. The whole band performed strong together and were able to get through a great repertoire of songs from their catalogue without missing a beat. The audience loved them; and they are what we needed. Phil Collins, although appearing in rough shape, somehow was able to keep time with his bandmates and provide a breathtaking Genesis experience.

It was so nice to be out at a concert since COVID-19. Everyone was having a good time and were respectful to one another. Had a great time. Glad i was able to see Genesis.

    The Best Domino!

by Genesis 1982 on 2021-11-29Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

Great show! The lights, smoke, screen and effects were fantastic! Phil does sit in a chair the entire time but he is engaging as ever! Mike and Tony hit all their notes and Phil's son on drums is excellent and of course Daryl Stuermer is phenomenal! This is likely the Last Domino, but what a way to leave! Thanks Phil, Tony and Mike!

    UNFORTUNATE SEATING

by Thumper on 2021-11-29Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

PHIL was GREAT 5 STAR Unfortunately the row in front of us had a lot of drinkers that constantly keep going to get drinks and use bathroom, therefore our entire row had to suffer trying to take pics, videos and to even watch the concert. Sadly it was very annoying I wouldn’t of gave it 1 star but I had to submit something.

    Last tour

by Fish on 2021-11-29Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

Every thing was very smooth getting in with the Q code vaccination proof and the digital tickets. It was kind of sad to see how Phil’s health is declined though, seems like a shell of his former self. Wish him well in the future and was glad to be able to see him

    Fantastic Show

by vfraser on 2021-11-29Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

In true form Genesis delivered Progressive Rock with attitude and experience. Even with Phil's compromised health they presented older Genesis Prog Rick tunes and the post 70s pop sound tunes of their later period with authority, incredible sound, and lighting, and professionalism all around. 2 1/2 hours of pure enjoyment.

    Genesis Toronto 2021 review

by Turbo on 2021-11-29Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

Overall a great show ! Sound quality of the music was excellent as was the impressive light and screen show. Nic Collins is fantastic on the drums replacing his Dad in that role. Phil's voice is not as strong as it once was (common with many rockers from the 70s) but still good. They were wise to utilize two backing vocalists to help out with the vocal duties. An enviable "challenge" with such a legendary band is to pick out the songs from their vast catalogue and I think they did a good job of balancing the Gabriel/Collins era tunes. Phil retains his usual humour and command of the crowd - still the legendary front man of the band. I certainly enjoyed the show (and I see a LOT of classic rock shows) and would certainly recommend it to anyone who enjoys Genesis. Don't rely on the crappy sound quality of "youtube" clips of the live shows - they always sound horrible - don't worry once you're there the boys rock and have a great sound. There's been a lot of attention on Phil's obvious health conditions but he certainly still provides a great show along with the rest of the band. It does sadden me to see my classic rock heroes aging like mere "mortals" and knowing that now that many are in their 70s we won't get too many more chances to see such brilliant musicians live in concert for much longer. Make sure you take advantage of every chance you can to see your fave classic rock bands in concert while you can - it won't last for much longer......

    Good show

    by Syl55 on 2021-11-29Centre Bell - Montreal

Good show but would have liked more songs from the Gabriel's period. As for Centre Bell I was kick out on the street by a rude employee so I had to make a long detour outside to get to the Metro station. As for Ticketmaster my experience with them buying my ticket was atrocious, I will avoid this company in the future and favor shows that does not involve them.

Didn't find the experience lived up to past expectations

by Jan on 2021-11-29Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

There was no way to social distance from the other people who were strangers in the audience. Once seated everyone took their masks off. The performance involved stage lighting and although I appreciated the large images of the performers, the sets showed a lack of imagination and professionalism. They certainly didn't spend any money on the stage or the light show. They should have hired someone with a little more imagination.

    Honest

by Sigh on 2021-11-29Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

For the circumstances of the band members, i am a happy camper. Mind you some of human uptight twats in the crowd should have stayed at home and watched it in the quietness of their surroundings.

    Better then I expected

by Pierre on 2021-11-29Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

I have been a longtime Genesis fan and sat on the fence as to whether I can afford to go to what will most likely be the last concert that Genesis ever does. I am so glad I took the plunge and went to the concert. Even after seeing a few You Tube videos I was a little worried. By the time they got to Toronto, it would appear they got all the kinks out off the show. Well worth the trip to Toronto and well worth the money for what will be an ever lasting memory of my favourite band.

    SLICK PRESENTATION...BUT THIN AND TROUBLING...

    by J. P. on 2021-11-29Centre Bell - Montreal

Yes, the lights were amazing and the sound was superlative even a touch too loud. But the show, the remote cameras, the visual effects -- all of it was technically superb and you could tell it was an expensive set up. But to have poor old Phil Collins wobble out on stage and try to sing like he used to...troubling, disappointing and sad. Yes, I brought my wife and my 13-year old son to see & hear one of the greatest bands ever but we were a little sad with it all...too bad. The music was still great and the band still played well although I was looking for a second set of drums. The bright spot was Nick Collins who was amazing.

Genesis still Amazing after all these years.

by Michael T on 2021-11-29Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

The band is as great as ever. While Phils voice has matured over the years he still has it. His son, Nic equals his Dads playing and everyone else in the band is ibxredible. The only reason I'm not giving my review 5 stars is because of the venue. The Scotiabank Arena is a terrible place to see a show. Poorly designed, cramped seats and events here always cost double compared to other arenas in the area like Rogers Centre or Budweiser Stage

    Last Chance to Dance

by Ottawagoaliemom on 2021-11-29Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

No complaints about my experience with Ticketmaster. All complaints are due to unlucky circumstances. Got to Scotiabank when doors opened. All checkpoints were VERY efficient. Our seats were amazing. Ten rows back. First row of our section so tons of leg room. On the aisle. MLSE ushers were super friendly and helpful. People beside me showed up right before the concert. Was an old man (who clearly had some kind of issues) with his two adult sons. Ushers knew him called him a “regular”. He was NUTS. Shuffle danced around the whole time winging his arms around hit me in the face twice. Harassed me the whole time. Made fun of me. The sons kept apologizing. The ushers sat right in front of us busy sending people back to their section. was good. A TON of distractions and the old man had a huge impact on my experience but there wasn’t much I could do about it. But…on the plus side…because of our seats we got access to the bathrooms in the platinum club!!! Holy snap that place is a whole other world. Band was fantastic. Phil looked broken and old but his voice was pretty darn good. Mike and Tony were spot on. Daryl was good as well (not a total fan of his take on FoF). Backup singers were effective and non-intrusive. Nic Collins was a total beast and clearly has an amazing career ahead. Genesis has been one of my absolute favourite bands of all time playing the anthems of my teenage years. It was not to be missed. The only reason not giving five stars was the old crazy man that dominated my experience.
