GLASS TIGER IN CONCERT:
Canadian rockers Glass Tiger are a fierce five-piece band that's been hammering out the hits since 1986, and they sound as fresh as ever nearly 30 years later. Lead singer Alan Frew still knows how to command the stage with his sharp, impeccable vocals and rich guitar strumming while his bandmates shred out solos on hits like "Someday" and "Don't Forget Me (When I'm Gone)". With their popular alt-rock tunes and on-point musicianship, Glass Tiger always brings the house down when they perform for eager ticket buyers on their can't-miss tours.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
The members of Glass Tiger – singer Alan Frew, keyboard player Sam Reid, guitarist Al Connelly, bassist Wayne Parker, and drummer Michael Hanson – first got together in 1983 and performed under the name Tokyo. They earned their big break a year later playing for sold-out crowds as an opening act for Boy George and Culture Club on tour. They attracted attention from several labels at the shows, eventually signing to Capitol Records and changing their name to the current moniker. They earned widespread acclaim with their four-times platinum-selling debut Thin Red Line, which featured the smash hit "Don't Forget Me (When I'm Gone)" – a song that peaked at No. 1 on the Canadian Songs chart, earned the band three Juno Awards, and launched them to international stardom. Glass Tiger continued to enjoy success with their follow-up releases Diamond Sun (1988) and Simple Mission (1991), which they supported with extensive touring throughout their native Canada. After a hiatus that saw the band's members pursue various other projects, the group got back together in 2003 to perform local shows. Although the band has had a lineup change since reforming with new drummer Chris McNeill, Glass Tiger still knows how to rock a crowd and deliver a hit-filled live show.
Great show! Great meet and greet afterwards! Can't wait to see them again!
We really enjoyed the concert. It was a great date night!
Great evening with great songs! Glass Tiger delivered! However. Erica Ehm opening could definitely be skipped though! Too loud at times and mostly pointless too. Expected better, but got worse.
This show had a blend of the best hits, some Scottish based tunes, and some excellent new work. Erica Ehm did a great job of entertaining us as the opener, and got us up dancing at the end. The band was full of energy and sass from Sam, the keyboardist, and Alan Frew was funny and engaging. The audience really sang My Town and it was a wonderful experience for us all, band included. A special night, and as always when things are so good, I wish it could have been longer.
I loved Glass Tiger. The opening act was okay. I would have preferred an other band.
Glass Tiger concert was awesome and we had an amazing time. The band had lots of cool lights and effects. The band played well and Alan was very energetic and interacted with the audience. The sound was good, and we could hear everything clearly. The light show was also very impressive and made the music more exciting. Please bring Glass Tiger back to Mississauga, Ontario stage, we love to see their performances again. Thank you so much
I thoroughly enjoyed the venue Living Arts Center in Mississauga, royal treatment from free parking underground to concierge service from the minute we stepped off the elevator, free coat check amd amazing seats! GLASS TIGER did not disappoint except Michael Hanson the drummer was not there and I really wanted to see him once again, he's the reason for my love of the band! But the interaction with audience was great and so was the set list. Alan made my bestfriends dreams come true, shook her hand and gave us a picture she will never forget, we have seen this band six times since we were 14 years old so this was definitely a stroll down memory lane and something we will never forget being best friends of 37 years
How spectacular to watch a band that still sounds exactly the same live, as when you listened to their records back in the day! Blessed be the 80's :)
Fantastic seating, prices, amazing concert! Just loved Glass Tiger!! Wish they had a musical warm up Act. Erika Ehm was cute but not the same as a band
Been to the Living Arts many many times and love all the seats and shows but .... I'm getting old and the seats I chose (note to self) don't get again if it's a band. Why? Everyone stands up to dance and sing along; I'm 4'11"and can't see a thing. Front row balcony or side balcony going forward; problem solved. Show was great!
