Overall the wife and I really enjoyed ourselves, but just to nitpick, we felt that the overall experience did not match last year's production. Still recommended though :)
A marvelous show, I brought a 3 year old who had a wonderful time!
I would say that I was pleasantly surprised of the level of dance and skills exhibited by these young performers. Highly enjoyable - an event for young and old!! About the seats: The seats where angled so that parts of stage performance was obstructed but the seat provided comfortable seating and plenty of legroom as well privacy.
Outstanding with much variety. Our grandchildren, even the restless ones, had their eyes glued to the stage!
Only problem was that it was pretty much EXACTLY the same - nothing new. It was excellent last year but because there was nothing new this year, it was still outstanding but it could have been better - it didn't have the same magic
I didn't know that the Goh Ballet had a junior company. I was a bit surprised to see so many little ones in the cast. I should have researched the company and performance a bit better before booking tickets....I took 2 friends who had never seen the ballet before and I don't know if it was the best first time experience. Obviously some numbers had to be modified to accomodate such a young cast. Overall...a great show. I was just not expecting a junior company.
The sets and costumes were beautiful and it was a delight to see the dedication and talent of the young dancers - and such fun when the tiny ones were on stage. The dancing was very good and we were particularly impressed with Yoshiko Kamikusa in the role of Dewdrop, A very enjoyable production.
We thoroughly enjoyed attending Vancouver's very own Nutcracker for our second year. Once again, the show sparkled with Vancouver's budding young talent showing off their skills combined with wonderful performances by principal dancers from the National Ballet of Canada and the Pacific Northwest Ballet. Knowing how hard the kids work in rehearsals in the months leading up to show week adds to the delight of seeing them deliver such a polished performance. This show is a lovely way to bring together some of Vancouver's most talented young dancers and gymnasts and is an inspiration for all!
A show Vancouver can be proud of. - One of the best Nutcrackers I have ever seen.
The Nutcracker was enchanting! The ballet was lovely and the sets and costumes were perfect. The Russian Dancers were wonderful and the little mice were adorable! The snowflake ballerinas sparkled with their glistening costumes! Great care was taken with every detail. Perfect for all ages! A must see!
