Great game to have here and fun to have Sacre at the helm! NCAA spirit was clearly evident at Rogers Arena on Saturday night. The half-time show and Gonzaga dancers added to the fun!
Hawaii and Gonzaga both played a great game. Rob Sacre really showed out on his home court and the fans were loving it. Canadian Point Guard Kevin Pangos ripped it up as usual. Hawaii had a tough game, their coach was ejected and they had to rely on their assistant coaches to continue on from where he left off. All in all, it was a great event. After the game, the Gonzaga players came out of the locker room to give out autographs. Lots of fans were going crazy! It was a great time.
It was a great game. Great entertainment: cheerleaders (girls), dance breaks (boys), mascotte, prizes. Nice length for young family. Thanks!
Loved the opportunity to see the Zags play and would love to have seen this a yearly event. But were I not an alum, I would not even have known it was on, so poor was the advertising of the event. Poor marketing lead to few folks in the fans, which lead to a poor experience. Another smaller venue may have been more appropriate so folks could experience the excitement of a DIv 1 basketball game.
The BC Basketball Classic was a great slice of college sports Americana that gave hometown fans a chance to salute Gongaza's Robert Sacre's outstanding NCAA career. The game was a treat for Vancouver basketball fans starved for meaningful hoops action since the departure of the Grizzlies in 2001. Hopefully other NCAA schools can be encouraged to schedule games at Rogers Arena.
It was lots of fun but the original price points were unrealistic, Vancouver is not going to pay $$$$ for a college basketball game. I bought my tickets early, in the balcony, because I was taking my kids and I was annoyed to see the tickets were half price last week, however, we had fun.
