Half Moon Run on Tour
Since the release of their 2012 debut album, Dark Eyes, Montreal indie-rock quartet Half Moon Run have developed a reputation as one of Canada's most mesmerizing live bands. Not only does the group feature four equally versatile multi-instrumentalists — resulting in copious onstage role-swapping — each member is blessed with an angelic voice that contributes to their spine-tingling, church-worthy harmonies. Half Moon Run are the sort of singular band that possess the wiry intensity to rock a small club, the anthemic grandeur to captivate festival crowds and the sophisticated arrangements to enhance the soft-seater theater experience. And to properly recreate their signature songs in a live setting, the band employ two drum sets, ensuring that each show builds into a heart-racing, percussion-pounding spectacle.
Half Moon Run in Concert
Formed in Montreal in 2010, Half Moon Run quickly sprinted to the frontlines of that city's fabled indie-rock scene. On their arresting debut single, "Full Circle," the group effortlessly forged a sound that was both rustic and grandiose, incorporating the forest-squatting harmonies of Fleet Foxes, the emotional intensity of Bon Iver and the disquieting atmospherics of Radiohead into its widescreen expanse. That song would help propel their first record, 2012's Dark Days, to platinum status in Canada, and into the charts in several European countries. After touring with indie heavyweights like Mumford & Sons, Of Monsters and Men, and City and Colour, the group returned with 2015's Sun Leads Me On, which entered the Top 5 on the Canadian Billboard albums chart, earning them a Juno nomination for Breakthrough Group of the Year. (And thanks to anthemic singles like "Turn Your Love," the band also made significant inroads into the U.S., with the album cracking the Top 10 on Billboard Heatseekers chart.) But with their third album, A Blemish in the Great Light, Half Moon Run pivot away from their roots-rock foundation to bring their artier instincts to the fore.

Amazing live performance. They sound even better life. Great stage presence.
Half Moon Run put on amazing performance. The playlist and venue made it a magical experience!
What a wonderful show. This is one of the most energetic, fun and talented bands I have seen. A great night out for all as it is suitable for all ages. Would recommend if you get the chance!
from lighting to sound, BOH killed it. To the band and Esca Quartet, with a perfect setlist, beautiful harmonies and receptive crowd.
Great atmosphere & the band never lets down. The energy in the room was great and the sound wasn't deafening. No hesitation to see them EVER.
Favourite band of the past few years! Love these dudes' music. Such a treat to see them live.
Half Moon Run was one of the best shows I've seen in a long time! Excellent musicians, all multi-talented, great songwriting, fantastic grooves, stellar energy from start to finish. Plus, having such a big fan base who sang along to most of the songs just added to the positive experience that this was. Half Moon Run took me to the moon and back!
Unreal. Talent for days, great songs, great energy. The drummer is a next-level wizard — playing drums, keys, and singing harmonies simultaneously. Go see them; you won’t be disappointed.
My favorite band didn’t disappoint. These boys have so much chemistry
Great band. Love what they do…. Don’t but front row seats, they will let fans rush the stage and wreck your view.
I think if everyone saw HMR live at least once the world would be a better place. They are one of few bands that sound just as good or better live and put on a hell of a show.
These guys should be world famous- we can’t believe they’re still playing in smaller venues. See them. It’s incredible.
Top shelf, they put on a great and engaging show! Would see them again in a heartbeat!
The show didn't start on time. It was announced to start at 8pm, but started closer to 10pm. People were exhausted standing just waiting. Terrible atmosphere, seems like the goal was to make everybody drunk, not to enjoy the show. The sound was not good either. Couldn’t hear the keyboards. Too much bass and drums. The band is awesome regardless the venue.
Absolutely epic show; one of the best I’ve ever seen. Amazing energy exchange between crowd and band. Such talented musicians
These lads can play some music! Better than expectations.
Amazing band and perfect venue for them. Opening act was probably good but not the venue for her as you couldn't hear her over the talking crowd. My only request would be to start the show sooner. Doors opened at 7 but the band didn't start till 930. That's too long to stand and wait. I get that you want to sell drinks but you try standing in one spot for that long. It's brutal!
Half Moon Run was absolutely amazing. Their voices are incredible, the 3 of them all play multiple instruments generally switching within the same song. They look like they are having a blast and it’s infectious. Great light show too. My only critique is because I’m getting old, the doors were at 7, not allowed out, and they didn’t start until 9:30. The second they started I didn’t care about the wait - it was worth it ♥️
Great show! great venue. Felt like I was in their inner circle listening to them play all their favourite songs.
A HMR show is always awesome and this one was no different. It was also special to hear new songs for the first time!
