  • Did not enjoy.

by Crys on 2022-05-30Queen Elizabeth Theatre - VancouverRating: 1 out of 5

We were so excited to go to Hamilton because of all of the positive reviews but we found it hard to hear the singing clearly and found it very boring in parts. I know we are one of the very few who didn’t care for it and we are actually surprised that we only could give it one star! Sorry!!!! :(

  • Exceptional performance

by JennB on 2022-05-30Queen Elizabeth Theatre - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

This show exceeded my long held superfan expectations. The touring cast was outstanding, especially actors playing Hamilton and Burr. Such a fabulous experience seeing it live. Laughed, cried, edge of my seat. If you know/ love the show it’s a must see. If you’re not already a fan I think listening to soundtrack ahead and familiarizing yourself somewhat with story would be helpful as it’s lyrically VERY dense with almost no regular dialogue that isn’t sung. That said, I wish I was going again and again.

  • Absolutely incredible

Set and costumers were sensational. Music is unbelievably written and the actors are all so dang talented. Would recommend to anyone and see again in a heart beat

  • Love Hamilton but…

    by Brit-Abroad on 2022-05-29Queen Elizabeth Theatre - VancouverRating: 2 out of 5

The venue in Vancouver (the Queen Elizabeth Theatre) just totally sucks. As a child all the tropes of theatre I grew up with, red velvet seats, a safety curtain, a stage curtain, dimming of lights ten minutes before the start, a PA saying please take your seats, boxes of malteasers you only find in theatres… all didn’t exist. Place feels like a university lecture hall. Dry and sterile, fitting for a city like Vancouver. What’s more, the lighting (and I literally have never thought, let alone noticed the quality of lighting) was so bright white and jarring at times that I had to quint to see anything. There are better locations the city has to offer but maybe this was the biggest and they wanted more revenue per night. Fair enough I suppose, but another disappointment and example of this city generally having no ability to pull something off to a high level of quality.

  • Hamilton (May 26)

by Mae on 2022-05-29Queen Elizabeth Theatre - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

The overall experience would be a 10/10. I rated it perfectly because who didn’t enjoy the production? The lighting, the performance, the singing, the actors, and of course the rotating floor!! It was all perfect!! That’s why they really deserved our standing ovation!! 👏🏻👏🏻 The only con here is that the seatings are too close. It’s too suffocating. But hey, it’s just the venue, not the performance! Also, getting tickets is easy thru Ticketmaster, so if you want hassle-free ticketing, just install the app, and you’re done. Again, I highly recommend seeing Hamilton! They will still be performing until July. So better get that ticket so you’ll not regret not seeing this outstanding Broadway production.

  • Fantastic!

Great performance of a wonderful play. It was fantastic! Traveled two provinces away to see it, and if it was coming to my city, I would see it again.

The musical Hamilton is a masterpiece from a genius. The performers did a fantastic job of telling the story and I would highly recommend it to anyone, even if musicals aren't your thing.

Touring cast was unbelievable - so talented and giving their all each night. So nice and personable at stage door afterwards. All of the main performers came out afterwards and spent some meaningful time with each person. Perfect entertainment...perfect night!

  • Hamilton was fabulous

    by Alfreda2789 on 2018-03-13Paramount Theatre - SeattleRating: 5 out of 5

This show was so well put together and flowed so well. Not knowing much about this part of American history I had to pay attention more closely but they made it such an easy story to tell. Well done & Bravo!

  • Would love to see this again!

    by Jena10bc on 2018-03-13Paramount Theatre - SeattleRating: 5 out of 5

I knew the soundtrack for this before going in so it was amazing to see it all come to life. The fun surprises were a bonus as was the fact that the audience was enthralled. At one point, during a song break, you could hear a pin drop. That's a sure sign the audience is paying attention.

  • HAMILTON!!!!!

    by mj68 on 2018-03-07Paramount Theatre - SeattleRating: 5 out of 5

I finally got to see Hamilton!!! What a performance!!! Great music, acting and comedy mixed in. Having listened to the soundtrack for the last 2 years and picturing the show in my head, the live performance was far more than I expected. The only thing that would have made it even better would have been if Lin Manuel Miranda made a surprise appearance :) The only negative thing I would say is that being a Canadian and not knowing American history very well I didn't understand a couple of the jokes made about John Adams. The audience was laughing and I felt a little lost, but it certainly did not take anything away from the show for me. I loved it and would see it again and again.

  • Hamilton, exceptional!

by TomGirl on 2018-03-07Paramount Theatre - SeattleRating: 5 out of 5

What an outstanding performance, brilliant story, beautiful music, all the elements that make a fantastic theatre performance. It made me laugh, cry and be curious about history. The music, the effect it had on me was bloody brilliant. Well done!

  • A must see for anyone!

by Hamfan on 2018-03-06Paramount Theatre - SeattleRating: 5 out of 5

This musical is amazing. I saw it in New York and couldn't resist making sure my family saw the tour. This cast is incredible! Honestly,if you haven't seen it....make sure you do!

  • Lives up to the hype!

    by Northerners2 on 2018-03-01ASU Gammage - TempeRating: 5 out of 5

Outstanding! Moves quickly - didn’t seem like almost 3 hours. Arrive early for ease of parking. Concession area very crowded and short intermission. If you want souvenir better to get ahead or after. Barely enough time to get through the line for one of the theme drinks during intermission. We used the headphone system and heard every word of the performance. Plenty of stalls in women’s bathroom with an attendant moving people along to see the empty ones ahead - virtually no wait at intermission.

  • Inspiring

Loved “Hamilton” a play that has politics, romance, forgiveness and scandal. All the makings of a great story! Music and choreography are great!
