About

Heart formed in Seattle, Washington in 1973 and have rocked on through the years under the sibling core of Ann and Nancy Wilson. The group has released 16 studio albums, hitting the Top 10 seven times and topping the Billboard 200 with 1985’s Heart. The band have sold nearly 35 million albums worldwide. Early rock staples such as “Crazy on You,” "Barracuda” and “Magic Man” gave way to greater mainstream success in the ’80s with the group’s first Hot 100 chart-toppers, "These Dreams" in 1986 and "Alone” in 1987. Despite developing their own solo careers after their first hiatus in 1995, the Wilson sisters have reunited as Heart several times. In 2013, Heart was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The band have received four career Grammy nominations and received The Recording Academy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2023.

  • Heart is timeless

    by ccl1020 on 2011-02-10Ottawa Civic Centre - OttawaRating: 5 out of 5

Fabulous concert. Ann Wilson sounds almost as great as she did 35 years ago. The band rocks big time. They played almost all of their hits and played them almost the same as the original, which is what you want to hear. The Civic Centre itself needs work. It was leaking all over the place. Lots of upset people, 'cause even in good seats they were getting rained on all night. Crazy!

I am glad I got to see these ladies perform at least once in my lifetime. Their music will live on for ages. I'm really happy I got to be a part of that history. Ann's voice is still as wonderful as when she first started and Nancy is still full of energy. These ladies ROCK!!!

  • Heart still rocks!

  • Heart left me with chills!!!

Heart was amazing! Ann Wilson is so beautiful! My favourite part of the night was the intro to Crazy On You. It was mind blowing. It is a wonder that a guitar string didn't get broken! The Wilson sisters seemed in top form and seemed to be really enjoying themselves. The only disappointment that I had was I am a child of the 80s/90s and I really enjoyed their music from that era. I guess they don't? They only played 4 songs from that era and they changed the arrangements somewhat. No songs were played from Brigade which is an awesome album in my opinion and only one song from Bad Animals. Nancy Wilson made a comment that the 80s was a weird time and did a crazy hand motion. Maybe it brings them bad memories from things that they want to forget? All in all, I really enjoyed this concert and Ann Wilson has the best voice in rock!

  • Heart in Ottawa - Amazing!

Awesome concert. Those ladies still know how to rock! That was money well spent! Go see them if they're coming anywhere close to you. You won't regret it!

  • Heart still got the vibes and the pipes!!!

by RocknrollNana on 2011-02-10Ottawa Civic Centre - OttawaRating: 5 out of 5

Too bad it has been so long since the band was active and on tour, think how much of their great music we missed in that absence. This was truly an amazing show, the entire evening was just fun; it was a trip to the past combined with a chance to applaude the team for their ageless talent and energy. I was sad when it was time to leave the concert hall, only then did I feel "vintage"......

  • Heart swamped by poor sound in Ottawa!

    by Prior1fan on 2011-02-09Ottawa Civic Centre - OttawaRating: 2 out of 5

First of all, I've loved Heart since the '70's so you can say I'm a long-time, big fan. You could say that I was really, really looking forward to seeing them in person for the first time ever. To make a long story short, we left the concert after Heart had sung only 5 songs: the sound was of such poor quality - totally distorting Ann and Nancy's great voices right from the start. Guitars and drums, louder than the ladies voices were too much! We noticed another 4-5 people grabbing their coats and leaving before we did, too. I'm so disappointed - yes, we wasted good money but worst of all was the fact that these two great ladies of rock performed in such an abysmal locale! We couldn't properly hear and feel the power of their two beautiful voices.

  • Awesome

    by Gerbear70 on 2011-02-09Ottawa Civic Centre - OttawaRating: 4 out of 5

Ann still has the pipes and Nancy can still rock out on stage. 2 hours of some good rock and roll. only thing is I could have done with the led zep and Who covers. Heart have enough hits to do an all original show. i wanted to hear "How Can I Refuse" but they didn't do it.

Anne's vocals and Nancy"s playing says it all..I have been waiting a long time for Heart to come to Ottawa and finally they came. The show was worth the wait and loved the smaller crowd feeling. If anyone was every a fan or still is a fan my only advice to you is... "GET TICKETS"... Blackwidow

  • Heart Has My Heart!

by cathmor on 2011-02-09Ottawa Civic Centre - OttawaRating: 5 out of 5

The Rona Centre was rocking Feb. 7, 2011!!!! Heart played non stop! They played all their old tunes along with some tracks from "The Red Velvet Car". Nancy sure can play her guitar and hasn't lost her energy doing scissor jumps from on end of the stage to the other. Ann has a voice of an angel! This was one amazing concert!!!

  • The Wilson sisters were in fine form

by Mistral on 2011-02-09Ottawa Civic Centre - OttawaRating: 5 out of 5

Had a great evening at the Civic Centre. I liked the small venue. Heart was very generous and I thought they played a great set. The guitars were sharp and the voices were really good. I did not think Ann Wilson could come close to her studio sounfd, but she proved me wrong. Great voice and performances on her iconic songs such as Alone and Crazy about you.. They seemed to enjoy themselves on stage and communicated this enthousiasm to the fans. All in all, a truly enjoyable evening. .

  • Heart Concert was FUN!

by MissMusicManiac on 2011-02-09Ottawa Civic Centre - OttawaRating: 4 out of 5

The Wilson sisters still got it! The Heart concert at Civic Centre was very entertaining Monday night. My friend and I really enjoyed it. Ann didn't miss a beat and her voice still rocks! Nancy looked like she was having a great time dancing around with her guitar. She played some awesome licks on it too. The music was great even if most of it was before our time! I really appreciated how much Ann noted we had a "beautiful city" and she "Thanked" the Canadian fans multiple times. That's always good to hear. I loved when they performed "Alone" best since everyone in the crowd was singing along more to that tune. Especially the fans in our area. We could really hear 'em! I also enjoyed What About Love? and These Dreams. Those 80's hits were big highlights for me. My only wish is that they would have played a longer set (even though they did near 2hrs!) to include more of their popular songs from the 80's! That was the only thing missing. I also think they could have played Scotiabank to a larger crowd. This show might not have been advertised enough to generate a larger crowd.
