All 3 bands played great and sounded great, were great with the audience and a great song selection even thought I was not familiar with Kick Axe's music but did recognize one song very familiar with the KILLER DWARFS set as I've been a fan for year and finally got to see the live and Helix played a great set but missed a lot of my favorites and played some I was not familiar with. For some reason the GEC for some reason had less security and ushers on that night, no one was around to help people find their seats, lots walking around like zombies. But all in all a good event, and I'm glad I went, oh went for supper in the Blaze Grill and I recommend the Blaze Burger.
Was a great evening with friends and great to see Kick Axe and Helix again! Nice venue as well but have to pack a lunch to get there. Lol
Like their fans Helix is aging, but can still deliver an excellent heavy rocking show that brings back tons of memories from three great decades for their lifelong fans; the late 70's ( older brothers records) and my generation of big haired bands the 80's and early 90's! Missed the doctor Doerner on this tour, and Paul Hackman will be forever missed, but will always live on the songs he created with the band and with Brian. Helix is a great Canadian band that deserve more recognition than they will probably ever receive! Keep touring and rocking for as long as you can!
Front row for $69 was awesome. Great NITE and Great bands I will be at the next one Cheers
Kickaxe is great! I was so impressed with the musical chops of Goddo, even though I didn't know any of their music, I was still tapping my feet and nodding my head to their songs, I will now go out and get some of their catalogue. Helix shows why they are still headlining. Great energy and crowd interaction. Awesome rendition of "Dream on". The band really looked like they loved being onstage.
Helix Rocks! I had great seats in 3rd row. Forbes RED DOG was there to introduce the Band from CJAY92. Harlequin brings back great memories. I enjoyed the tall lead guitarist who was the first original one. He was able to make the songs sound better because he knew all the right cords and little extras in between. He ROCKED! Sweeney Todd, was '70's music reborn. Singer Nick Gilder never changed, great . I had one dislike. I didn't like the key board player. He smoked too much before concert, dropped stuff, made sweeping motions like he was playing with his elbows. Overall, 3 bands of this caliber, for one money, great music and well worth the admission. Would be first in line again!
I confess to going to this show not knowing any of the music, but man was it a fun night! These are a bunch of guys that have a heck of a lot of fun doing what they do. And I was glad to get to see them doing it!
What a great surprise. The three bands each did an amazing job. Helix were really rocking with a very tight set. Brian’s voice was right on track. Harlequin did their always splendid job. Light hearted and fun. Nick Gilder and Sweeny Todd really rocked the place. Their cover of Highway Star was awesome! Loved hearing all the hits live. The crowd was really into the show. I would highly recommend these acts to anyone who really likes Rock & Roll Music played the way it should be LOUD.
For a smaller venue, I was impressed! These guys still rocked, and made it a fantastic night; rock you! They played all my favorites too. I needed this! A nice trip back in time...Thanks Guys!
