About
With a brand new album expected to debut in early 2014, happy-go-lucky Nashville natives Hot Chelle Rae are primed to overtake the airwaves with a batch of fresh earworms like previous hits “Tonight Tonight" and “Hung Up." Confident but grateful, petulant but playful, the trio puts on a high-energy concert for their devoted fans, who unfailingly snatch up all the tickets to their routinely sold-out shows. It’s not the crazy catchy tunes alone that make these boys so enjoyable, but also the thrilling live experience, which is highly interactive, with the audience encouraged to sing along while a few colorful strobe lights illuminate the minimally designed stage. Seemingly perpetually on the road, the youthful band recently completed a tour in Japan in 2013 and will continue sporadically playing shows in the U.S. until their massive world tour for the third album, due to be released next year alongside the latest single, rumored to be “Crazy.”
Christening themselves “Hot Chelle Rae” after the handle of a catfishing fan claiming to be a hot young blond, the band seemed destined for success from the beginning. It didn’t hurt that band member Nash Overstreet’s brother is Chord Overstreet of "Glee" fame or that they all had musician parents, but the guys seem fairly grounded despite acclaimed family members and cushy upbringings. They first garnered attention while playing SXSW in 2007, before releasing their first album, "Lovesick Electric," in 2009. The year 2011 brought with it their second album, "Whatever," which boasted a more playful sound and the double platinum single “Tonight Tonight.” The holidays mean a short break for the hard-playing members of Hot Chelle Rae, but their fans are grateful that they won’t rest on their laurels long.
