About

Hozier is one of the most successful folk artists of the 21st century. Born Andrew Hozier-Byrne, the Irish singer-songwriter first toured internationally as a member of the Irish vocal group Anúna before going solo in 2012. His watershed moment came a year later when his first single, “Take Me to Church” was released. In 2014, it rose to No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and ushered in Hozier’s self-titled debut, which itself reached No. 2 on the Billboard 200. “Take Me to Church” closed 2014 as Spotify’s most-shared song of the year and garnered Hozier’s first career Grammy nomination for Song of the Year. His 2019 sophomore full-length, Wasteland Baby!, topped the Billboard 200 and was supported by Hozier’s first solo headlining world tour. In 2023, Hozier released his third album, Unreal Unearth. Throughout his career, Hozier has collaborated with artists such as Mavis Staples, Annie Lennox, Maren Morris, Noah Kahan, Brandi Carlile and composer Bear McCreary.

Absolutely excellent performances by both George Ezra and Hozier. You can tell they are both so happy to be doing what they're doing, and they are both extremely amazing songwriters and talents!

    Hozier is a true artist

by Addressa on 2015-03-06Métropolis - Montreal

Hozier was a great concert. I didn't know much of his music prior to going, but he was very humble and played great. The lighting for the show was amazing. I did find his music a little mellow for me, and had the show gone on longer, I would have been bored and tired, but it was ok. You can tell he enjoys what he does.

    Magical

    by Christie420 on 2015-03-05Massey Hall - Toronto

I see as many shows as I can, I live for live music. I am 35 and saw my first show at 15 which was STP opening for The Rolling Stones, my last show was The Kongos last week at The Danforth Music hall. Hozier has just made it into my top 5 shows of all time. If he was playing in Buffalo or Detroit today I would get in my car and go......now! Real, meaningful, new, inspired, beautiful music made with actual string instruments is almost non existent in today's music scene. I am a lyrical person and have not heard lyrics like this in so long. It is a breath of fresh air hitting you from that stage. THANK YOU HOZIER! You and all the other musicians you brought to the stage are amazing. So tight for a "newer" band. He was never off key even singing the choir like soprano falsetto notes. Seriously, RUN to go see him if given the opportunity! It would be a disservice for me not to mention George Exra. I almost never go to the opening band, but did this time as I do own his album. He was great too. Such a low register, I'll be excited to hear what he brings on his next album.

I saw him in Toronto after missing the show in November and I'm so glad I got tickets. The show was absolutely amazing and it was probably one of the best usages of lights I've ever seen. He sang every song from the album if I'm not mistaken, as well as two covers. Hozier is one of the most humble artists I've ever had the privilege of seeing live. His genuine thanks at every point he got to the opener, his band, and all the techs involved, as well as the audience seemed truly heartfelt and he went and shook almost everyone's hand in the front row before he left the stage. I also very much appreciated his sarcastic sense of humour while telling stories about how some of the songs were written. All in all it was a wonderful night and I definitely plan on seeing him again.

Most enjoyable concert I have ever been too

by HeidiElizabeth on 2015-02-22Orpheum Theatre - Vancouver

I go to a lot of concerts and I can honestly say this is the best I have ever seen. It's not very often you encounter someone that is even comparable to the sound on their album(s) but Hozier surpassed every other musician I have heard. I travelled from Edmonton to Vancouver for this concert and it was definitely worth it! The venue was absolutely beautiful, the evening had a really dream like atmosphere. Interesting lights, gorgeous symphony band and back up singers. The show was so mesmerizing, it felt like it went by so fast! I'd love to see him again!

    Hozier is absolutely brilliant.

by Destyn on 2015-02-18Orpheum Theatre - Vancouver

Hozier has been one of my absolute favourite musicians since I first discovered him early in 2014 and seeing him live was the best night of my life. His raw talent is beautiful and he is one of the most humble performers I've ever seen. I would highly recommend seeing him... Again and again and again. Not to mention he's tall and Irish.

    Hozier <3

    by just8jackie on 2014-10-23Commodore Ballroom - Vancouver

What a FABULOUS concert ...... The opening act, James Bay, was such a compliment to the Hozier. His angst was heartfelt in some of his heartache songs. Hozier was AMAZING ! What a talent... easy on the eyes (with his man bun that I wanted to ravage) and then with his poetic lyrics and vocals and then his humble nature......this man is going to be around for a while. I felt so lucky to be part of an intimate concert and his Irish comrades there rooting for him was the cherry on the cake.

    Great!

by Kgosal on 2014-10-23Commodore Ballroom - Vancouver

Hozier took the stage at around 10:20 and played for about an hour and 20 minutes. It wasn't a very long performance but he was incredible! His voice is amazing live and considering that for most of the night it was just him and his guitar up there, it was a really captivating concert. He played most of his album and did one cover during the encore. All in all, I would recommend any fan to go see him live. He won't disappoint.
