About
Hozier is one of the most successful folk artists of the 21st century. Born Andrew Hozier-Byrne, the Irish singer-songwriter first toured internationally as a member of the Irish vocal group Anúna before going solo in 2012. His watershed moment came a year later when his first single, “Take Me to Church” was released. In 2014, it rose to No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and ushered in Hozier’s self-titled debut, which itself reached No. 2 on the Billboard 200. “Take Me to Church” closed 2014 as Spotify’s most-shared song of the year and garnered Hozier’s first career Grammy nomination for Song of the Year. His 2019 sophomore full-length, Wasteland Baby!, topped the Billboard 200 and was supported by Hozier’s first solo headlining world tour. In 2023, Hozier released his third album, Unreal Unearth. Throughout his career, Hozier has collaborated with artists such as Mavis Staples, Annie Lennox, Maren Morris, Noah Kahan, Brandi Carlile and composer Bear McCreary.

by d. on 2019-10-21UBC - Doug Mitchell Thunderbird Sports Centre - Vancouverour tickets said doors at 8 but the doors were at 7 and we missed the opener. the drink/concession line was absurdly long and slow. the guy who took my order couldnt add the cost of two $9 beers together and had to use his iphone. the staff couldnt direct us to our seats, the ppl in front of us had their seats double booked. the show itself was great but i will probably think twice before going to a show at doug mitchell again and will likely decide not to based on this experience

I liked that there was some craft beer options, wish there was more but inwas pleased! One thing i will say is that i was super confused where the merch tables were and i wish there was signage that directed us that way. Overall everything was good though and i truly enjoyed my experience

It will actually take your breath away, he sings just so powerfully and so beautifully. And the visuals on top of everything were just!!! The first song, Nina Cried Power, made me want to start an uprising, seriously his music is THAT moving.

You could really get a sense of his humble personality the way he gave thanks and recognition to all members of the band and even crew staff. Would definitely see him again!

He really tries to connect with the audience which was nice, he spoke about the inspiration behind his songs. His band is great, they all let their personalities shine though and put on a fantastic show. Only complaint was that after the opener it almost took an hour until the show started.

Noticed some humming and sound was off on two of my favorite songs. Saying that, energy was great and everyone seemed happy to be there and performed well. I'd definitely see him again.

To have an area where people with assistive devices can watch a concert without people standing in front blocking the view means so much! Hozier was amazing, his band and backup singers did an fantastic job. The opening band did a great job getting the crowd moving!
