SIMPLY THE BEST POP OPERA GROUP OUT THERE. CAN'T WAIT FOR THE NEXT SHOW.
Thought Nikki Yanakofsky was good as the opening act but the audience was there for Il Volo. The boys were amazing. I have seen their specials on PBS and their voices are magical. Each one has its own special quality. My heart was a flutter as I listened to the beautiful music. I am not familiar with many of the songs that they sang, and many were in Italian but that made no difference. My friend and I kept looking at each other like we were experiencing a miracle, it was that good. I really can't understand why the venue wasn't sold out with the large population of Italians in Toronto. If you weren't there too bad you missed the best concert of the year.
The performance of the trio is fantastic, would see it again
they are awesome their songs were amazing their performance
Loved every second of the Il Volo concert. Their voices are fabulous. The theatre in Vancouver, apparently a smaller venue, was sooooo much better than the big hockey arena. Glad I travelled from Calgary; would attend one of their concerts again.
What talent! They certainly have it. I would like to see them in five years - hope they are still delightful, not spoiled by success. How about singing a couple songs from the 60's and 70's..
I took my parents to this concert and it was amazing!! My siblings came as well and had a great time!! The Boys put on a Fanastic Show!!!
They were great but since this was the start of the tour needs some adjustments. Music was way too loud and needn't be. They have great voices and were almost drowned out at times. Maybe setup for large venue but spotlights in our faces at our theater was very disturbing. Other than that their voices and songs were outstanding.
Loved the show but found the lighting to be poor. We did not like the way the lighting was handled and found at times the person singing did not have a spot light on them. It just didn't look right. Also people moving around behind the scenes back and forth we found very distracting. There should have been a black curtain or something so this was not visible to the audience. Other wise the performance was outstanding and IL Volo was more than we could have ever wanted. So talented! We would go again if they come back to Vancouver as they are worth every penny we spent and more! We also would have liked their performance to be longer with more songs, perhaps next time as they are just starting out on their tour and are new to this new way of life for them. I am sure they are overwhelmed with the reception they receive wherever they go! We are in Awe of their talent!
I've watched their You Tube videos and now to have seen them sing live - it's incredible to see how much growth they have gone through in the last 3 or 4 years. The clarity in their vocal range and stage presence was apparent at the first drop of a note for each member. Usually when you think "boy band" there is vocal strength collectively, but for this group individually they are so gifted that when they sing together you are hit by this force of magic. It's hard to describe. They sang for 2 hours. I thought the lighting and stage set up was great, they worked the stage well. They don't need much amplification so it could have been toned down that night, but that's a minor detail. I met the boys when they were in town - so very nice and you realize how young they really are: two are still in their teens and one is 20 years old I think. They are young heartthrobs in Latin America. It will be interesting to see them evolve and I'm sure if each member decides to branch out on their own in the future- each will reach great success too. They are just too talented.
The Group was good , my problem is with the sound level of the music, the music covered the singing to the point of not being able to here the vocal parts at times. The bass was to loud all the time and the reverb was to active.
Partly due to bad sound system setup with volume so high it was distorted for 3/4 of the concert before they adjusted it to a tolerable level. Must have wondered why audience was sitting there with their fingers in their ears. 3 tenors wannabes, not harmonise well, mostly enjoyed solos. Never liked 3 or 4 (yes you, Il Divo!) singers each singing short verses of a song in turn.
My first time seeing these young men and they were wonderful. I enjoyed their song selection, their banter and their enthusiasm. All in all a very enjoyable evening hearing songs from my childhood (I'm Italian) sang so beautifully.
They were amazing. Sang a great selection of classics and modern music! They brought some youthful playfulness to an often stuffy event! Thoroughly enjoyed the performance and have told everyone ! The only down was the seemingly unplanned "5minute" break. Left me wondering if I had time to leave my seat. BRAVO!
Il Volo was outstanding! I will look forward to seeing what the future holds for these three young men.
Excellent performance, we totally enjoyed it and would go see them again!
The canned orchestra music was far too loud and over powering, at times painfull to the ears. The voices of Il Volo would have been better heard with the on stage accompaniment alone and were also over amped. For a group of young performers, trying to appeal to a younger audience, too meant 'oldies' Frank Sinatra? please, let's come up with some new material. I came to see Il Volo, who certainly should have appeared on stage first and certainly not after 6 songs performed by a warm up act, as talented as the young lady may have been. Overall this was a disappointing performance and needs a lot of tweaking.
Words cannot describe how amazing this show was. Il Volo not only have amazing voices but they simply know how to entertain and keep an audience captivated. I can't wait for them to come back...soon I hope!
Il Volo was one of the best concerts I have been to. These boys have voices that just fill the room.. They seem to sing with no effort. I would love to hear them again sometime..
These young men were exceptional. Their voices are superb and well worth the price of the tickets. Do yourself a favour and go see them. They are reminiscent of and maybe even better than the "Tenors".
