About

Imagine Dragons are an alternative pop rock band formed in Las Vegas in 2008. Since releasing their debut album Night Visions in 2012, Imagine Dragons have become one of the world’s best-selling artists, accounting for 74 million albums sold and releasing 10 Top 40 singles. Each of the group’s five studio albums have hit the Top 10 of the Billboard 200, with 2015’s Smoke + Mirrors topping the chart. Following a string of independently released EPs, the band broke through in 2012 with Night Visions and the diamond-certified single “Radioactive,” which reached a career-best No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 and spent a then-record 87 weeks on the chart. “Radioactive” won the 2014 Grammy for Best Rock Performance, and also became Imagine Dragons’ first of five singles to top the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart along with 2017’s back-to-back diamond singles “Believer” and “Thunder” and 2018’s “Natural.” The modern rock group, led by founding member and vocalist Dan Reynolds, has also been featured in crossover collaborations with Kygo, Lil Wayne, JID and more.

Our favorite band performing under the stars...with the sound of the drums bouncing off the water. Incredible atmosphere and incredible talent. Loved every minute!

An amazing, amazing show. Energetic and full of emotion...the band included the crowd and really interacted with fans...fantastic set - can't believe all the drums! The place was vibrating - could feel it all in my chest. Probably the BEST live show I've ever been too!

The best show I have seen at the Shaw. Usually this venue is very poor for music but the sound person did an amazing job.

    Forgettable

by SaraS19771 on 2013-05-27Shaw Conference Centre - Edmonton

These guys had so much energy and always had tricks to get the crowd going. Their light show was pretty good (I really liked the stars and trees on stage), they had balloons that exploded into confetti, Dan Reynolds was even lifted off stage by a harness to fly around and do some backflips. Unfortunately though, some of the songs performed live were only sub par... Also, I appreciate how humble the band is and that they truly are grateful for their fans, etc., but the amount they talked didn't appeal to me at all, I kind of just wanted them to get through songs and their set without breaking it up with so much gab. The entire vibe of the concert was also.. young. Young band, young crowd - I'm sure for many of those kids it was one of their first concerts. Maybe I was the one who was in the wrong place haha! During the concert I just definitely felt like I was being overwhelmed with things I had seen and heard before and I really would have preferred a show that was a little more stripped down and who focused on sounding good. Honestly, my favorite part was seeing one of the opening bands, X Ambassadors. Now there's a band who can have fun but be relaxed enough to just play and play well. I bought their EP at the show and am hooked. I liked when Imagine Dragons did a cover of Stand By Me, that really interested the crowd and myself as it was finally something a little unique. Imagine Dragons are still a good band, this just wasn't one of my top gigs I've attended.

Show was over all pretty good. good lighting and effects bands were good. Imagine dragons was awesome. they played well and had sweet effects like the main singer hanging from the roof beating a drum and just so many drums in general it was great. and security was friendly as well. only complaint i would have is the bass sounded horriable. the one speaker sounded like it was blown. Ive been to the shaw before and its a great venue for most concerts. All in all ide go back.

I love Imagine Dragons and they are wonderful live! The opening acts were also really great. I was glad to have found two new bands "The Ex-Ambassadors" and "The Envy Corps". Overall, a great show

    A New Band Looking Experienced

by DaffyDave on 2013-05-26BMO Centre - Calgary

This is a relatively new band and they played like they have been around for years. Lots of energy. Tight. Decent sound. And a cool stage show for smaller venues (not arenas).

The good: Great performance by the band, loved the energy and their set. Will definitely go see them again in the future. The bad: Would prefer the option to an 18+ show in the future. The BMO wasn't the most complimentary for their acoustic music. Not to do with the band, but the venue highly overpriced all drinks(alcoholic or nonalcoholic), this is quite common though unfortunately.

    Imagine Dragons Fabulous

    by Billyboy10 on 2013-05-26BMO Centre - Calgary

Imagine Dragons at the BMO were better than I had hoped. Their set was excellent and the musical ability of the band was impressive. The lead singer had the audience enraptured. I really enjoyed the first warmup band as well. Very talented group.

    Incredible performance by Imagine Dragons

by DragonsFan on 2013-05-26BMO Centre - Calgary

The first opening band, X Ambassadors, were one of the best opening acts I've ever seen. They had fantastic energy and great songs. I really enjoyed them even though I hadn't heard of them before. The second band, Envy Corps, was disappointing. I found they lost the energy the first band had built up and the crowd didn't seem to be engaged by their performance. Imagine Dragons didn't come onstage until after 9:30, but they were worth the wait. Their set was awesome and they had very cool lights and visual effects. Their songs were even better live and the lead singer, Dan, was absolutely amazing. He is very talented. Overall, I loved the show. Only complaint is that the venue was standing room only and it was really crowded, which isn't fun when there are a lot of people trying to smoke weed and crowd surf around you.

    Good Show; Poor venue

    by bryguy76 on 2013-05-26BMO Centre - Calgary

The show was good, but it was hard to enjoy it with the acoustics of a bomb shelter. The BMO centre is not a place to go to see a show if you are an audiophile.

Going to see them every time they come to town!

by Vict0ria on 2013-05-26Shaw Conference Centre - Edmonton

One of the best concerts I've ever been to. Amazing sound, amazing backdrop projected onto the screen behind them. They had huge trees with lanterns on stage which looked amazing, and during On Top of the World tons of giant balloons got thrown into the crowd and when they popped, there was confetti inside. I also loved how humble Dan was when he spoke to the crowd and thanked them for everything, you could totally tell how truly grateful he was. Also, there wasn't really a break in between songs. They would end one song and then music, like guitar chords and stuff, would be playing in the background while Dan was talking, and they would just transition into the next song. You could never tell what was going to come next, and it flowed together really well!
