  • Great entertainer!

by asdfgh on 2014-05-06Commodore Ballroom - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

Great show all round. Two quality support bands. A long and varied set from Ingrid Michaelson. She is certainly very talented and gave an entertaining performance. Good mix of new and older material. Fresh arrangements of older songs. Tight band.

  • Good, but not great.

by C23x on 2014-04-28The Danforth Music Hall - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

Ingrid was great - she seemed to be in a good mood and was playful with the audience. However, what was annoying was the time it took to switch sets (could be a venue thing) and the fact that she had two opening acts - she didn't go on stage until TWO HOURS after when the show was supposed to start (three hours after door opening). Wished she played more old stuff - played a lot from her new cd, but given that her cd wasn't released until a week ago...i didn't know the majority of the songs she had played off the cd.

Amazing voice and sense of humor. Will for sure go see her live again when she comes back

  • Ingrid Michaelson is the whole package.

Her Toronto show was absolutely amazing! Not only is she a very talented singer/songwriter, but she's also a very hilarious comedian! Her personality really sets an uplifting mood... for the crowd, her band members and guest artists alike. And she definitely knows how to engage with her fans and draws you in. Overall, the experience of witnessing her live, was truly unforgettable and a memory to cherish forever!

  • not NEW artist but new too many - look her up

INGRID MICHAELSON: I hate it when reviewers compare one artist to another as far as capabilities so I will just say that this NOT new, but new to many, is an artist that should not be missed. From the crowd alone you could tell she appeals to all ages. Her accompanying band was the big surprise for me. She doesn't need a band to perform yet together they are simply amazing. She put together a great mix of tunes from all her CDs and had the crowd singing and clapping throughout. Many will be surprised by her stage appeal as well but if you youtube her live songs you will see she comes by her humour honestly.

I can't say it was bad, but it wasn't good. Really predictable arrangements. It felt very lacking in heart. Ingrid is a great singer but the show just felt stale, calculated and pretty cheesy.

  • Ingrid Michaelson at the Phoenix

by Zeegie on 2012-04-19The Phoenix Concert Theatre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

I saw Ingrid Michaelson live for the first time a few years ago as part of a small tour headlining Keane. She was awesome and hilarious and she gained herself a huge fan that day... :) I knew I would have to go see her play again if I ever got the chance. I dragged my friend with me who had never even heard of Ingrid, but she really enjoyed it as well. The energy was great, the crowd was really into it. She is also very funny so that's a plus... some guy had brought along a noise maker/party favour and she made up a song on the spot to incorporate it - Absolutely hilarious! The only annoying part was they seemed to be having some feedback issues with the mic and speakers, but what can you do, right? I would totally go to another show when she comes back. I feel like a lot of people don't know of Ingrid, but whoever does is a loyal fan.... :)

  • Ingrid Rules!

by DLKW on 2012-04-16The Phoenix Concert Theatre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Ingrid was amazing, a true professional. An amazing musician playing 3 instruments plus her incredible voice! Truly amazing with the crowd; I am sure every night would be a different great experience. I wasn't expecting her to be so funny and relate to the crowd so closely, a refreshing highlight. She played everything I expected with a good mix of old and new. There was a bit of a struggle with the sound within the concert hall which was unfortunate but did not deter from the overall enjoyment of the concert. We would definitely go again! Good luck on the rest of the tour!!

  • Ingrid Michaelson is amazing.

Ingrid was hilarious and entertaining as usual, and her vocal, piano and ukulele performances were spot on as usual. Unfortunately, the audience kept shouting things out and interrupting her train of thought, even giving her presents which was irritating. Last time I saw her in 2010 she had fewer interruptions and told lots of hilarious stories and jokes and it felt much more intimate. Ingrid's voice was beautiful and I love her, I loved her perfomances.

  • Ingrid was fantastic in Toronto!

by IngridTorontoFan on 2012-04-13The Phoenix Concert Theatre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Wonderful Show!! Ingrid was really engaged with the audience. Her song choices were perfect (some older and some unreleased songs along with the new stuff). Her voice was amazing and original. Also the opening band, Pearl and The Beard were great too.
