About
ionnalee on Tour
Gifted Swedish singer/songwriter Jonna Lee performs as ionnalee, one of her many experimental electronic pop projects and her solo artist moniker.
After performing with different projects and under various names for many years, Lee evolved from a singer/songwriter to creatively using electronics in nearly all of her music and adding creative visual elements. She released her debut album as ionnalee in 2018, Everyone Afraid to Be Forgotten. Lee self-produced the album, which features duets with TR/ST and Jamie Irrepressible. The album went on to garner a nomination for Best Synth Album of the Year at Manifestgalan, a Swedish award ceremony for independent music.
Known for her fierce and fearless live performances, soaring vocals, gorgeous visuals, and experimental artistic nature, ionnalee's live shows are not to be missed. Grab your tickets to see her perform when she tours through a town near you.
ionnalee Live in Concert
Born and raised in the Swedish village of Fågelsta, Jonna Lee discovered she had a great love for music when she was very young. Despite not growing up in a musical family, she decided to pursue her dream of becoming a singer/songwriter.
She moved to London in her teens to further her musical career but ended up returning to Sweden in 2002 and becoming a part of the Stockholm underground music scene.
She released her first album, 10 Pieces, 10 Bruises, under the name Jonna Lee in 2007, which included contributions from Ed Harcourt and Supergrass drummer Danny Goffey.
Soon after, Lee performed at SXSW, where she was in the Top 5 for the SXSW 2010 Next Big Sound list. She also launched an electronic and audiovisual project with her longtime collaborator and record producer Claes Björklund around that time called iamamiwhoami. Their haunting and atmospheric video for the song simply titled "Y" went viral, and has been streamed on YouTube more than 67 million times and counting.
After evolving her sound and adopting the ionnalee moniker, she released her first solo album Everyone Afraid to Be Forgotten in 2018 and her second ionnalee album, Remember the Future, in 2019. An extensive world tour was planned for 2020, but had to be canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. She's now back on the road and excited to return to America for an extensive tour.
