About

Led by veteran indie-pop singer-songwriter-pianist Andrew McMahon, Jack's Mannequin launched in 2005 as McMahon's more personal solo project following the success of his pop-punk band Something Corporate in the early 2000s. Jack's Mannequin - McMahon (vocals, piano), Bobby "Raw" Anderson (guitar), Jay McMillan (drums) and Mikey Wagner (bass, keys) - debuted with their Gold-certified album, Everything In Transit, which includes the Gold-certified single "Dark Blue." The alternative pop rock group released a total of three acclaimed studio albums, with both their sophomore LP The Glass Passenger (2008) and third and final album People and Things (2011) entering the Top 10 on the Billboard 200 chart. During its tenure, Jack's Mannequin also performed multiple times on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, received major media support, and were featured in the hit TV series One Tree Hill. Throughout the recording and release of Everything In Transit, McMahon was diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia (ALL) at the age of 22. After making a full recovery following a stem cell transplant from his sister, Andrew founded the Dear Jack Foundation in 2006, a nonprofit which provides impactful programming that directly benefits adolescents and young adults diagnosed with cancer in order to improve quality of life and create positive health outcomes from treatment to survivorship for patients and their families. Though Jack's Mannequin officially went on hiatus in 2012, leading to McMahon launching his current moniker Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness in 2014, the highly adored SoCal band has reunited on a handful of special occasions over the years. As they prepare to celebrate their 20th anniversary, Jack's Mannequin is back and returning to the road throughout 2025 for a headlining tour and festival appearances.

It was every thing I had dreamed of and more. After seeing Something Corporate two summers ago, I expected nothing less than genius. Andrew McMahon really words fail me. The old songs were incredible live and the new songs heartwrenchingly beautiful in its execution

Full review is up at my music blog on Wordpress (4rightchords) but suffice it to say here that, as usual, Andrew McMahon gave 125% and played what was pretty much my dream setlist. Smiling and singing away, Jack's Mannequin is a joy and privilege to behold live. I wish half the big acts out there gave this much genuine passion in their live shows.

I went to my first concert ever. It was Jack's Mannequin and I did this because they are one of my favorite bands. The last time they came to Ontario, Canada they played in a bar. And not being 19 at the time I could not attend. However this time they played for all ages. You know you are seeing a great band when you can look up on stage and tell right away that the band is not only more excited, but it also brings them more joy to play for you than you are getting out of seeing them. There were well over 200 people there but you felt as though they were playing just for you. I walked out after feeling well satisfied and pleased that I had just witnessed perfection, then woke up with deep regret that I would have to wait so long to see them again.

Not only is The Sounds Academy one of the best places for a band to play but Jack's Mannequin is one of the nest bands to perform live. Andrew McMahon is a beyond amazing musician and if you are ever able to see a show or even just listen to his music, do it.

  • Allen stone is the next big thing!!!

To write a review with my limited technical know how would only leave you with part of the true feeling this show had. So in a word......Breathtaking. I didn't stick around for jack's mannequin. But I did drive a total of 600km to see Allen Stone. Completely worth the hour long set. Nobody plays(or feels) a soul/funk sound like these guys do. The next CANADIAN date I will be going to see him again. He's playing in San Fran on the 26th of November and I might just make the trip.

  • Wish Came True!

Finally, they came to Edmonton. No longer did I have to go to Vancouver to see them. Amazing acoustics and a spectacular light show. Glad to hear that one of their opening bands (Lady Danville) made it to the venue, even after their van (Brenda) flipped on route to Edmonton. Lady Danville had a similar vibe to Jack's Mannequin. Alan Stone (the other opener) had more of a reggae feel to them. Both openers were great! As always, Andrew & his crew rocked out. I love how they put everything into their playing. There was a great mix of songs from all three albums.

  • Love Jack's Mannequin everytime

Andrew has such great energy on stage. He really is a performer, I've always been a fan. Feel as though I've been along for the ride with him. My absolute favourite.
