BONHAM'S LED ZEPPELIN EXPERIENCE IS SPECTACULAR !
by Python46 on 2013-02-17THE COMMODORE BALLROOM - Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, Feb.13, 2013Rating: 5 out of 5It was an emotional show. It was also spectacular and mind-blowing. Jason shared his talent and life with his family and his emotional bond with his famous father, the late John ‘BONZO’ Bonham, drummer for Led Zeppelin.
Led Zeppelin is one of the worlds most famous Blues and Rock Bands. Jason’s talent is amazing. Along with an epic line up of band mates, Jason with longtime guitarist Tony Catania, James Dylan on vocals and acoustic guitar, Dorian Heartstrong on Bass, Stephen LeBlanc playing keyboards and steel guitars. And a guest appearance by one of the Band’s techs on Harmonica. The Show was so complete.
The sound, the Power of Bonham’s Drums, the stage, the home movies and James Dylan’s Rock On Vocals for Robert Plant. It was a masterpiece. It was music of a generation from the best of Rock genius’ and innovators. Guitarist Tony Catania making his guitars sing the song of Jimmy Page, Stephen Leblanc and Dorian Heartstrong keeping the bass and keyboard magic happening for John Paul Jones’ artistry. They were tight and right on the mark.
It truly was a visit into the living room of The Bonham childhood home. Home movies, old concert footage and Moby Dick played by two great drummers side by side. The magic of technology and video. We all thought we were at The O2 Concert in London too. Ooh The lucky ones who got to go.
We were the lucky ones tonight at The famous Commodore Ballroom. I asked Jason before the show if he “could describe in one word what it meant performing with Robert Plant, John Paul Jones and Jimmy page.” He said he couldn’t, “One word could never describe the feeling” I said “that’s it!, Thank-you, you said it, It could never be said in one word.” He was very emotional and his performance this night was truly spectacular. He is Jason Bonham. He is an amazing drummer. I also showed him my ticket stub from his first show in Vancouver, Dec. 22, 1989. “ My hand was broken for that show” he remembered. So did I. Bonham opened for The Cult that tour. I think like most people there, we wanted to see Bonham. His talent was spectacular then. He played with a broken hand. Tonight he had a cold but you would not have known.
From the opening song, Rock N Roll to the finale, Whole Lotta Love, Jason played his heart out for us, His fans, Led Zeppelin’s fans and BONZO’s Fans. I could not describe it in one word either. Thank-You Jason and to your Mates, Thanks to the staff too for all your help,It was a night to remember!
