Amazing show! If I didn't know better I would swear Led Zeppelin had returned!!
Overall the show was great,, who doesn't like Led Zepplin. Have to say they were not perfect but Jason was ill and the lead singer missed a few. Would see it again.
Great laid back atmosphere, loud, crip, clear music, and it sounded sooo good
The scene where Jason and his dad were drumming together to moby dick was so moving! Great night!
Great show!! Only way it could have been better is it it where Led Zeppelin them selfs.
What an amazing band. The lead guitar was amazing, lead vocals amazing, Jason Bonham was incredible. The best concert since Roger Waters. Hands down. I would go see them again tomorrow. The sound system was electric. Best yet.
Overall: Great value, must see show Show: I didn't have high hopes as I feared that Jason would be just doing it for the money. This was definitely NOT the case! Musicians: All members of the band were excellent musicians who seemed to be enjoying the music and the gig. Jason: Is a great drummer ... nearly as good as his dad! He looked comfortable with himself, proud of his dad and appreciative of their relationship. A/V: Some nice clips of Jason and his Dad when he was a child Venue: Excellent facility, easy to park with great acoustics
Jason Bonham's Led Zeppelin experience is an absolute must see!!! The music was amazing!!! It felt like I had traveled back in time to see Led Zeppelin live!!! Highly recommend going to see if you have the chance!! Two thumbs way up!!!
One of the few bands I never saw in the 70's was Led Zeppelin. However Jason's band while not Led Zeppelin, recreated almost flawless studio versions of many great tunes from the 1967-1975 period. This band TOTALLY loves Led Zeppelin, and that comes across in the performances. Jason is a GREAT drummer, able to recreate his dad's parts faithfully, as do the other members of the band. The vocalist was as good as Robert Plant. If you closed your eyes, it sounded like listening to Led Zeppelin - almost. The difference is if you know Led Zeppelin as a live act either through bootlegs or having actually seen them, they were quite a spontaneous band outside of the studio. While this band certainly has the chops and the fire, they play the songs as most would remember them if they had never seen Zeppelin live... Nothing wrong with that - but if you are a die-hard fan, totally into Led Zeppelin, don't expect this band to recreate Led Zeppelin as a live act. However if you want to hear the songs as you likely remember them from the albums, note for note then you won't be disappointed at all, because it was pretty darn close ;-) So what you will see and hear are studio renditions, faithfully recreated. Which for me was great. Saw them the next night in Kitchener - wasn't nearly as good as their PA was the same as used at Massey Hall in a space four times the size so it was very distorted. But it was still fun - just not as fun as Massey Hall where the sound was crystal clear and chest thumping ;-) BUT - Massey Hall was amazing. If they play this venue again - go see them. Bottom Line - Hey I went to Kitchener on the spur of the moment, buying tickets a few hours before the show, simply because you just don't hear music like this anymore. That's how much fun I had at the Massey Hall gig. Having seen many shows at Massey Hall in the 70's - I've not heard Massey Hall rock like this since the 70's. A good time was had by one and all.
Awesome show!!! Really everything you'd want from a singer with all the power and same sound as Plant to the musicianship which was as good as all the studio versions of their music- the original band rarely performed as well live. I saw them twice in "71 and "74 and if I closed my eyes I would have thought they had returned as everyone wishes they would. Jason himself adds a very nice personal touch talking to the audience often with very heartfelt reminiscences of his dad, showing some old home movies, and paying homage to the legacy he carries on. I loved the set list too, they played all the songs I really wanted to hear from the first album and the most powerful blues song I know-Since I've been Lovin' You. Lastly Jason really stands out as a phenomenal drummer, plays with power and sometimes subtlety and great flare. I LOVED this show , there wasn't a single disappointment .
Must see if your a Zep fan , Jason just add's to the experience .. only complaint it wasn't loud enough .
The show was such a fantastic tribute. It was initimate and personal, with the commentary and home video from Jason. The lead singer was truly amazing. The entire band made the show a fanastic experience! Would go again!
JBLZE is awesome!!! Rock n' Roll Heaven!!! Jason, like Bonzo, is the engine of the band. Leader of the band, he has the encyclopedic knowledge of Led Zeppelin that Page, Plant and Paul Jones accredit for the success of the 02 concert and Celebration Day. Jason rocks it! James Dylan possesses the best voice I have ever heard for Led Zeppelin songs since Robert Plant. Dylan has that haunting quality in his voice that Plant did. He can sing it out, scream it out, moan in out and rock it out to every song in every detail. I am amazed anyone can match Plant, but Dylan does. Tony Catania plays a mean guitar, cut for cut, note for note. Jimmy Page would be proud! Stephen Leblanc and Michael Devin do double duty to cover the great work of John Paul Jones perfectly. Led Zeppelin is the greatest band of all time and, while there is no replacing Led Zeppelin or any one of the band members, we NEED live Led Zeppelin and JBLZE flawlessly delivers. Powerful, moving, musical engine of hard rock the way we LOVE it!!!! Awesome!!!
I've never seen Led Zeppelin, but tonight I saw Led Zeppelin.
This was an incredible, amazing, phenomenal show. I loved the personal stories about Jason's Dad and his family.. It made the whole experience more intimate and special. The music was beyond. You close your eyes and you would swear you were listening to Led Zeppelin. I brought my 10 year old daughter and she had an excellent time. Thank-you so much.
As I am a Zeppelin fan, I was excited to see this concert offered in Toronto, even more so when I read all the five star reviews here. Not sure what happened last night but there were alot of technical glitches and video and sound issues. Massey Hall is a great venue for concerts because of the awesome sound but last night the music was muddled, timing was off, people constantly running around the stage during sets fixing stuff. My spouse and I were a little disappointed to say the least. I like Jason's thought behind this show and kudo's to him for making this available. He is an awesome drummer but where were you drum solo? Never happened and that was the one thing we really wanted to see. Also the gallery seating in Massey Hall is very tight. Will definately look for different seats next show.
If you are a fan of Zeppelin this is an absolute must. Echo what others have said if you close your eyes it may as well be them. I dont even think the real guys could do as good a job anymore! The synched up drum solo was insanely good. The venue was awesome because there is not one bad seat in that place. Would see it again.
Band as a whole sounded very much like the original - no "karaokeness"
No less, no more - "LED ZEPPELIN" came back! It's incredible, but it's fact - Jason done it! Hurry to see it, will not last!!! Absolute delight, Alex, Olga
The light show and the images on the big screen were amazing! The music was amazing, the musicians and singer really delivered! Excellent show and awesome evening! Great venue!
