the show itself was amazing, however the sound was terrible, not sure if it was because of where we were seated? fifth row center left?? the bass was overwhelming and the guitar and vocals were drowned out. TOO BAD!!

  • Jason Bonham and band brought Led Zeppelin to life

by ZepJunkie on 2010-11-01Hamilton Place Theatre - HamiltonRating: 5 out of 5

John Bonham and Led Zeppelin were the reason I learned to be a drummer and did the rock and roll thing for many years. Unfortunately, I never got to see Zep live.....I had tickets twice and both shows were cancelled due to tragic deaths....one of them being Bonzo. This left a void in me until now. After enjoying this show and seeing Jason play "for" his great dad, I feel like I have seen a form of Led Zeppelin. This band was as close as you will every get and I would recommend any Zeppelin fan see it. Of course they do not look like nor do they try to look like Zep....that's not the point....just close your eyes and listen and you will find it hard to tell them from the real deal......amazing! I hope they return again some day....I will not miss it. WELL DONE JASON !!!! You have done your father and this great band proud!

  • Great tribute

by Eulogy on 2010-10-31Hamilton Place Theatre - HamiltonRating: 4 out of 5

The concert was incredible, performances by all artists on stage blew me away. Jason was interactive with the crowd, sharing some touching stories of his father. Film footage was a nice added touch and the crowed enjoyed every song played. This is definitely for Zeppelin fans of all ages.

  • Close your eyes and imagine a time long ago!

by CasinoMan on 2010-10-31Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Close your eyes and imagine a time long ago! If this was 1970 all over again I wouldn't be able to tell the difference. The energy song to song was astounding. Some small changes were evident - Jason is brilliant but John Bonham's playing was all his own. Jason's home photos and films were not sappyand only added to the pleasure of listening to the music John Bonham loved to make. Every musician was so talented they could play anywhere for anyone. Not only would I recommend this, I'd go again.

  • SATISFACTION GUARANTEED

They don't look like Zeppelin but they sound pretty damn good! Bonham was very likeable (great bloodline). The musicians were really good and the vocalist did an incredible job...he's not Plant but he wasn't trying to be, a really tight band. 110% satisfied with the 3 HOUR SHOW. Played amazing renditions of some of the best Zep classic tracks, it really was an "EXPERIENCE" I would do it again if they were to come back in the area. Worth the money. Nobody felt ripped off on this one. LONG LIVE BONZO! Great job Jason, you did the old man proud!

  • Whole Lotta Love

by MammaGmac on 2010-10-31Hamilton Place Theatre - HamiltonRating: 5 out of 5

I was mesmorized in 10 seconds. Jason Bonham has done his dad proud and I can see why the living members of the group have given him the go ahead on this project. The group was tight. Great vocals by Daughtry look-a-like James Dylan, reeling guitar work by Tony Catania, steady bass by Micheal Devin and Stephan LeBlanc on keyboards and of course the drums by Jason himself. If you closed your eyes you would think you were seeing the real LZ, but alas it still is a cover band despite the blood relations. The stage presence was good, better than most cover bands but its hard to live up to the original band from back in the day. I have seen LZ in the 70's in a wild concert in Montreal so I speak from experience. Despite the fact that this is a cover band I say GO, don't pass up the concert if you like LZ at all. The music is still relevant. They played all the great songs, and yes that means Stairway to Heaven. I could go on and on but the truth of the matter is that this is the closest any of us is going to get to seeing LZ live and there is nothing like seeing this music performed live by a great band. You will love the show and want to go again.

  • Son of Bonzo rocked the Sony Centre

by Jerryc on 2010-10-31Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Following in the footsteps of one of the best, if not the best drummer of all time is a big challenge, but Jason Bonham is certainly up to the task. This was far more than a concert, it was a mix of concert and documentary. Jason paused between many of the songs to deliver a glimpse of the life of the legendary John Bonham, showing clips of home movies from his childhood. Truly an amazing show, in all aspects. I would highly recommend this show to anyone from the casual to the hard core Zeppelin fan. I wish I were able to see this show again, I'd go in a heartbeat.

  • Jason Bonham rocked it like John

    by stmarys93 on 2010-10-30Hamilton Place Theatre - HamiltonRating: 5 out of 5

Amazing sound and great show!! We loved that Jason actually took the time to talk to the audience quite a bit about his dad and his experiences growing up. Not many artists bother to speak to the fans like that.

  • Jason Bonham and his experience of Led Zeppelin!

by BabyLuvsTheBlues on 2010-10-29Hamilton Place Theatre - HamiltonRating: 5 out of 5

This was not only a great rock concert, but from the time of his birth, it was Jason's experience of Led Zeppelin, the band, and in particular his Dad's. Jason remarked how, when he was 2 years old, he could hear the band practicing on the other side of Jason's bedroom wall... a little frightening for a toddler. It was exciting; about as exciting as being there with LZ. They're such pros. The music filled every centimeter of the venue. I had a good view of the band. The guy next to me was bomping in his seat but I didn't mind... I did too! The singer had sounds and moments of Robert... did a great job! The bass was booming. The electric organ was nice. The lead guitarist used guitars like Jimmy's (I loved the sounds) and the theremin and bow; and the guitarist was very talented. It's a wonder how Jason can make the sometimes complicated business of using all of the drum kit look easy and smoooooth. He worked hard and he rocked! Behind the band were early movies of Jason and his family; and some psychedelic videos... very colourful. Some concerts I go to are standing room only, but when concerts are presented in a concert venue hall, we sit, we stand, we dance, we sing. IMHO concerts should never be in sit-down venues... that's not really a rock concert to me... I like to stand the whole 2 hours. (I wish concert producers would put a ramp out into the audience so the band members could come out and play more intimately to us. I wish Robert and Jimmy would do that. Instead of the band being displayed on stage, they'd thrill us by being with us.) Along the way we screamed and clapped for everything and sang to Stairway. We brought down the house to bring them back to do an encore which they did! After the concert Jason autographed. A history-making tour! I'd like to have a dvd of this concert and one for the O2 concert I hope they'll put out especially for those of us who couldn't be there in person and for posterity sake. Jason mentioned being at the O2 concert, a highlight of his life. A little nervous, Robert said to him to have fun because they couldn't take that away from him! I love Robert! <3 Diane

by Borlin on 2010-10-29Hamilton Place Theatre - HamiltonRating: 5 out of 5

absolutely awesome,, I seen Zeppelin 3 times . 1972 at Maple Leaf Gardens Toronto and twice in Buffalo N.Y in 73-74 This was the best ive heard and seen since. Incredible synching of Bonzo (John Bonham) and Jason beatin those drums together. Jason has the exact syle of drumming as his dad. The band was as tight and perfect as i never imagined i would experience. again. I hope they come around again . I was with my 16 year old son who was just mesmerized. now i want to take my wife and daughter too Incredible Thanks a million Jason

Fantastic Show! Jason Bonham was great on the drums. It was very touching to see his family pictures with him and his Dad. The band was superb and the lead singer really rocked the house. The audience gave a roaring ovation at the end of the show. The band returned for an encore - They played Whole Lotta Love - WOW! This show is a must see.

  • Jason Bonham did his Dad proud!

by Bridgey on 2010-10-29Hamilton Place Theatre - HamiltonRating: 4 out of 5

Loved the concert. The members of the band were all phenomenal. I was pleasantly surprised that the singer had similar vocal qualities to Robert Plante. My only criticism was that on occasion the vocals were overpowered by the instruments. If you love Led-Zeppelin, you'll love this concert!!

  • Bonhams band solid

    by pirate1 on 2010-10-29Hamilton Place Theatre - HamiltonRating: 3 out of 5

A positive experience. Although it took a few songs to get warmed up, the band came together and put forth a solid effort. Standout guitar playing and basically copies of the original songs, no song butchering here. Pricing should be about 25% cheaper for this tour.
