Jim was very relatable on the family side of things, the wife and I had a great night out with lots of laughs !
meh - opener was funny-ish, but obviously didn't take the role too seriously as he was reading off his joke list. jim delivered a solid set, but a lot of older material and almost nothing that was current (not that there is any shortage of current events to write a few jokes for). show got started at 715 and it was all over at 830. felt like we could have stayed home and just listened to the album on spotify. sure we got some laughs but not the performance we were looking for (especially considering cost of the tickets).
I love Jim Gaffigan!! He always makes me laugh. His stories are about life situations we all go through. So funny!!!đ¤Ł
Really enjoyed the show. Heâs a funny guy sharing stories of regular life without expletives. Short though as Jim was only on for about an hour. Surprised it was over so quickly
I love comedians in general and Jim Gaffigan is one of my favourites......The only issue I had at all is that the show was not long enough! Tickets these days to anything are not cheap....especially centre orchestra seats which I prefer and always buy...and for the kind of money this event cost I expected him to perform for at least an hour and a half....The show was only an hour plus 15 minutes of a back up comic. Otherwise it was great!! As always!
He delivered a good night of Jim Gaffigan Comedy. Lots of good laughs. The opener was a little on the weak-side. Funny, but working on a set of new material he hadn't committed to memory. Just a little clunky in parts
Concert was very entertaining. Jim Gaffigan is always funny and appreciate his choice of content. Opening act was pretty decent as well. Great Event!
Jim Gaffigan is just plain funny, and we had a great evening laughing at life's idiocies. A fine break from the trauma inflicted on the world by an insane man.
Took my dad to see Jim Gaffigan, 2nd time seeing him together, last time was at UBC and this is a far superior location. Staff is friendly and the show was a perfect length of time! Jimâs material was fresh and hilarous! Always a treat to see him perform!
Good show but it was really short. It was just under an hour, which for the price, didn't seem adequate.
Show was amazing. Laughed the whole time. Thanks Jim! đ
I love Jim Gaffigan. I love his Netflix shows. Frankly, I would have rather heard him use that older material than the new, lame material that wasnât funny. I can count on one hand how many times I laughed out loud (which is something I usually do when I listen to him).
Jim Gaffigan never fails to deliver. It was a traffic nightmare to get to Ubc but once parked easy to enter the building. - missed half the opening act, but he was good as well, and I actually listen to more of him afterwards on YouTube - Jim Gaffigan was just so funny
I feel the concert was too short! But I really appreciated the material as it was new to me. I even turned off the comrdy station when Jim came on for 2 months beforehand just incase it was the same material!
Jim Gaffigan was amazing, very funny as was the opening comedian. The venue wasn't great parking and building access was not good. It took us an hour to get out of the parkade after the show.
We enjoyed the opening act, and Jim Gaffigan was very funny, original. The venue was ok, but the parking arrangements at UBC are awful and they should not host large events there, at least not until Skytrain reaches the campus. We were late because of excessive traffic even though we followed the suggestion to park slightly away from the venue and walk. Then it took more than 45 minutes to leave the parking facility.
Jim was okay. I believe he was only on stage for 60-70 minutes, which was short. He left the stage fairly abruptly --> didn't really tie the show together at the end like he typically does. We thought there would be an encore but there wasn't. Venue was at UBC, which is too far from city centers. There is only one way in and out of the UBC area and it took us an extra hour to get to the venue due to traffic. Parking was confined to a single parkade. We were stuck in the parkade for 1 hour after the show due to congestion. If Jim comes back to Vancouver, suggest he holds the show at the Langley Events center.
Ive always loved Jimâs standup and I was very excited to see him live and splurged on getting third row seats in Vancouver. Well, Jim seemed tired and uninvested from the beginning. I was very bored with ongoing diarrhea jokes that fell flat for most of the audience, and the show overall produced little more than a smile from me. Iâve seen a few high profile comedy acts before and this one seemed to be done before it got started. I donât even think it lasted 45 minutes when he abruptly said âyouâve been great, have a great nightâ turned and walked off the stage. My friend and I thought he was joking it was so out of nowhere. At least we got a funny 20 minutes from the opening act, Tom Alexandro. THANKS TOM!! Iâll never pay to see Jim again thatâs for sure. Maybe Jim needs a break from showbiz.
Gaffigan was top-notch. His opener was funny, although it took a while for the crowd to warm up. I would have expected two openers for the price. Gaffigan's ~hour long set was all new and family friendly as expected. A bit less polished than usual. The venue was not ideal for the show. The floor seats were the interconnected fold out seats. I'm not big, and I found them small and tightly spaced. A big guy sat next to me and took a quarter of my seat... I felt sorry for those in the stands to the immediate left and right as I'm sure their view was blocked by the hanging speakers.
