    Jim Gaffigan comedy night

by Bella on 2023-01-16Scotiabank Saddledome - Calgary

My partner & I enjoyed the comedy show last Thursday. Both acts were very funny & we laughed a lot & could relate to stories! Unfortunately we had a lady right beside us who literally cackle laughed the WHOLE show & laughed about EVERYTHING! She was bloody annoying ! It was almost a forced phoney laugh & kind of spoiled our night. We were very tempted to leave & find another seat but there were not many open. She obviously got her $$ worth but a bit over the top. It was good clean humor ! We were hoping it would have been an extra 1/2 hour longer as well.

    Great show!

by Alysha on 2023-01-16Scotiabank Saddledome - Calgary

Show was really good. He had an opener (Ted Alexandro) who I knew of, which was surprising! Only complaint, is that his show felt short :/

So funny start to finish, too short.

    by Gaffi-FaN on 2023-01-15Scotiabank Saddledome - Calgary

It was too short! Opening act was great and the jokes told by Jim were fun and had as all howling.

Tom Segura was hilarious, oh and Jim Gaffigan was there.

by Ben on 2023-01-15Scotiabank Saddledome - Calgary

Typical comedy show. I honestly expected more from Jim Gaffigan who I really usually adore. If he had more Canadian references in his jokes it would have gone further with the audience. 1 hour show by Jim and just walked off after his last joke. Tom Segura was naturally hilarious and a great opener.

    Not impressed!

by Taliyahsmom on 2023-01-15Scotiabank Saddledome - Calgary

This show was absolutely a disappointment! Mildly funny at best! His new material is a real snooze. The opening comedian was much funnier. Jim only performed for an hour, left abruptly, and seemed 100% bored and uninterested while he was onstage. We had really looked forward to this but I will never pay to see him again. He really needs to step up is energy level and performance in general.

Love this guy, master at Comedy!

by Calgary Fan on 2023-01-15Scotiabank Saddledome - Calgary

It takes true talent to come out with funny material for his tours. I have watched most of his videos online and he is a master. Looking at life's moments and just laughing at them. Also the opening act was also great. Great evening of laughter.

    Meh ...

by MelseeDotes on 2023-01-15Scotiabank Saddledome - Calgary

I appreciate the family friendly nature of the show, but Jim spent exactly 60 minutes on stage and the ending was very abrupt. A good 1/4 of the show was about diarrhea...really?! I guess that appeals to the younger audience, maybe? The opener was hilarious!

    Shorter Than Expected

by Wavey Davey on 2023-01-15Scotiabank Saddledome - Calgary

Jim is great. Obviously brilliant timing and delivery. Spent too much time on a diarrhea line of jokes. Which would have been OK if his set wasn’t so short. Around 60 minutes. We were headed home by 9 pm. Considering this was an arena show should have stepped up his game.

    Not as good as usual

by hvard on 2023-01-15Scotiabank Saddledome - Calgary

I felt that the opening act was very good. When Jim came out in his covid mask and joked about having Covid and passing it to the people in the front row, it was NOT FUNNY given the current world situation. I came to have a laugh and forget about the crap that has been going on for almost 3 years. The show improved after that, but I felt that he was off his game. I expected the show to be better. I did enjoy it though, just felt it wasn’t his usual. He ended very abruptly and we thought maybe Jim wasn’t feeling well. I hope he is well.

    Pretty good

by Event goer on 2023-01-15Scotiabank Saddledome - Calgary

It was shorter than what we expected, as well as shorter than most of his Netflix episodes.

    Unfunny

    by H&J on 2023-01-15Scotiabank Saddledome - Calgary

Coming out in a Covid mask, making Covid and vaccination jokes AND global warming jokes made his performance in Calgary extremely unfunny. The opening act was quite good, however.

    Show seemed worklike

by Norm on 2023-01-15Scotiabank Saddledome - Calgary

I have seen Jim before and he was more animated. He seemed disinterested and more work like this time. His finish was abrupt. Overall I was disappointed but still consider him a decent entertainer.

    It’s was good but

by MakPar on 2023-01-15Scotiabank Saddledome - Calgary

Jim is such a great comedian but this show did not leave me ROFL. I think a smaller venue would’ve created a more intimate setting - better connection between performer and audience. I so wanted to leave with painful cheeks but this show left me wanting more. His warm up guy delivered bigger laughs, IMO.
