About

Jimmy Eat World in Concert

Jimmy Eat World started in 1993 as a punk trio formed by childhood friends Jim Adkins and Zach Lind. After years of hard work in the studio and on the road, the band settled on a poppier sound, hitting the spotlight in 2001 with breakthrough album Bleed American. The album included several successful singles including "The Middle," which reached No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 and became an MTV staple. After extensive touring in support of the album, the band returned to the studio for 2004's Futures, which peaked at No. 6 and earned the band another No. 1 single with "Pain." Chase This Light in 2007 and Invented in 2010 would achieve similar success, cementing the band's role as one of the most successful indie acts in the business.

In 2013, Jimmy Eat World celebrated 20 years of independently released records with Damage, their critically-acclaimed eighth studio album. At their live concerts, the band delivers a blast of non-stop energy and enthusiasm, delighting ticket buyers with heavy guitar riffs, boisterously precise drum solos, and three-part vocal harmonies anchored by the familiar croon of frontman Jim Adkins. 2013's Damage saw the band transition from teen-angst rock towards a more sophisticated sound, with lyrical content taking on a markedly more mature tone on singles like the album's title track and "I Will Steal You Back."

The whole night was unforgettable! David Vertesi was the opening band, absolutely amazing! Incredibly nice guy! He signed a copy of his cd for me :) and then, of course Jimmy Eat World= amazing! I will definitely see them again if they come back to Vancouver :) Overall the music was wonderful! I would love to re-live that night <3

the crowd was full of true fans that knew every word, the band poured their hearts out into their performance, and there was not one person there who was not jumping around going crazy for them. they were flawless as expected from a band who has been playing for over a decade.. I would definitely attend again if I had the chance.

  • Absolutely Love Jimmy Eat World

I have seen J.E.W three times now and each time they rock the house. They are consistantly on their game with sound quality and set list; making sure they hold onto true fans with old time favorites and generating overall excitement with their new album. I don't care how much older I am then the newer groupies each time, I'll still jump around to sweetness! Kick Ass!

  • Jimmy Eat World - Such a great band.

Amazing show - a band with so much talent and genuine appreciation for their fans. They sounded amazing and played songs from all albums, not just the newest one. The venue was smaller which made for a more intimate performance. Overall you could tell the band gave it their all (despite playing four shows before this one plus doing a radio show the next morning). I would definitely recommend seeing them!

  • Fantastic Show!

First of all, We Were Promised Jetpacks were incredible! They really got the crowd moving and warmed up with their set. The mix of rock with a hint of celtic-esque vocals was great to listen to! Highly recommend them. As for Jimmy Eat World, they played a great variety of old and new upbeat songs that couldn't possibly disappoint. Great show!

  • Great show

The show was fantastic - we were in teh back right corner of the venue - in the raised bar area, and could see everything.

The show wasn't bad in itself although it was nothing spectacular. The venue sucked. Sound quality was not very good. If it was about 1/2 the price I would've been more satisfied but the ~$45 or so per ticket for a show that was worse than a ~$20 local band was slightly disappointing.

  • Jimmy was Great!

This is my favourite band, so I would honestly see them anywhere, however, I am not a fan of the Kool Haus.. Jimmy played great, almost as good as listening to the albums, maybe even better sometimes! I wish they would come around more often..

Awesome show. I have seen them half a dozen times, and every time they put on an excellent show. I would see them again in a heart beat.

Hands down, best band in the world. They played a perfect set, the sound was amazing, and they are just so tight it hurts. This was my 5th time seeing Jimmy, and I will go another hundred times. They never disappoint.
