BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Born in Brooklyn in 1933, Joan Rivers earned a degree in English literature and anthropology before finding her way to the stage in the late '50s. Cutting her teeth in small Greenwich Village comedy clubs and local theater productions, Rivers biting wit and fearless attitude soon landed her recurring roles on various talk shows, including The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. Carson made her is regular guest host in 1983, a catalytic moment in her rise to fame and a precursor to the 1986 debut of her own show The Late Show Starring Joan Rivers. Over the years, Rivers has built one of the most multi-faceted careers in entertainment, enjoying success as a stand-up comedian, an author, a talk show host, a fashion correspondent, and numerous other endeavors. Back on the road, Rivers will treat fans to her signature off-color comedy on a string of highly anticipated tour dates.

by cyrdon on 2009-09-27Casino Rama - OrilliaJoan Rivers took the stage at Casino Rama last night and from the moment she made her first joke it was clear she had the audience in the plam of her hand and that no one and no subjects were going to be off limits. In a high energy set that saw her use every inch of the huge Rama stage, the 76 year old Rivers joked about subjects ranging from her win on Celebrity Apprentice, marrying rich, her gay fans, sex and getting older. Peppered thoroughout the set were her observations about various celelbrities past and present. Judging by the audience's loud and non stop laughter, Rivers' caustic, astute, brassy and sometimes vulgar joke telling appears to have only sharpened with age.

HER TICKET IS WELL WORTH THE MONEY. WE HAD GREAT SEATS NEAR THE FRONT OF THE STAGE. WE LAUGHED ALL EVENING.WE WOULD RATE HER AMAZING AND WOULD DEFINETLY SEE HER AGAIN. Hazel

She is extremely funny although some areas are questionable in respect to the digs she completes on certain performers.Her final comment was to thank US the audience in respect to allowing her to be on stage.. I believe everything she does on stage is not really meant in a mean way..as many of these people are in fact her friends

She has more energy than I do at 32! The show was raunchy, original and a perfect way to spend a Saturday night! Thanks for making my weekend, Joan! I would HANDS DOWN see her show the next time she tours!
