Joe always brings it and this show was no exception. His playlist changes while making sure the long time fans get their favorites. Joe and crew are tight and worth more than the price of admission. As to the venue one change that would be nice is direct access to the casino after the event. Both are secured areas with entry through staff and metal detectors. Exiting the concert and entering the casino was a very slow process of cursory inspection.

What a great entertainer. One of the best concerts I have been to. His band members were all above average. Excellent show.

Great venue and sound at the Theatre Grand Toronto Parking was conveniently located out of the weather

  • Incredible performance

by Anthony on 2025-11-08Great Canadian Toronto - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Joe B is an incredible musician guitarist, singer and overall performer his band is world class and the audio at the venue was really balanced and clear. The venue lacked good access for restaurants and parking forcing all attendees to pass through one security entrance to walk through the casino in order to get to your car at the end of the night causing huge line ups at exit or to access restrooms. I wouldn’t be keen to see another show there there are several other downtown venues similar in size that I wouldn’t have preferred

  • Joe's final back been far too long.

Joe finally returns to Toronto after a long absence. From my recelection it was November of 2018 on the Redemption Tour. I'm a big fan so everytime I've seen Joe its been a great night of music and guitar. Love the set list and the story of his drive from downtown to the Woodbine Casino. But I was shocked that Joe didn't play Slow Gin but he finished with Mountain Time which is a great song. We had a great time and the venue is good place for concerts.

Concert was outstanding. Venue was great. Had a fabulous time.

  • Great Show, Bad Hall

by Bry on 2025-11-08Great Canadian Toronto - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

Joe Bonamassa was remarkably consistent with his performance from his last visit to Toronto 8 years ago. Energy and note perfect. Honestly, he quite likely played a million notes and none of them were off. His singing might have actually improved over his absence since last I attended his visit to our city. Unknown to most of the audience, was keyboardist and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member of Bonamassa's band since 2015, Reese Wynans, was playing his last tour before retiring. Joe afforded the crowd the opportunity to praise his contribution to the evening's enjoyment and roar they did. Yet though Joe and his band did their part to deliver the best show possible, the venue did not. First and foremost was the compromised sound of the building itself. Sound reflected in away from it's steel roof and concrete floors in a way that cut the immediatecy of music as if it was being played a kilometer away. Perhaps installing some sound baffling in the ceiling would have been a good design choice. Toronto traffic and parking is always challenge in any commute to venues within the downtown core. This isn't the case here as the theatre is part of Woodbine Raceway and Casino. Access is far less frustrating and there's plenty of space for your car. However, I'm sure that those who get around by mass transit would have an opposite viewpoint. Finally we aren't really allowed the opportunity to forget what the core business activity is here. Exiting the theater funneled the crowd past plenty of emergency exits that threatened to sound if opened. After a journey through a single cramped hallway we emerged where? The front entrance to the casino. A final comment, if you want to keep the Blues alive as a live art form, it will have to attract a younger audience. The median age here had to be at some point well past 70. I suspect much of this audience will find it impossible to attend a concert of any kind due to age. Artists like Joe Bonamassa need to point more of there marketing efforts towards younger audiences. If they don't admit their audience is beginning to fade into the past they won't have a future for themselves.

  • JAW DROPPING GUITAR SKILLS

    by Britt & M on 2024-07-21Rating: 5 out of 5

I bought the tickets for my guitar-playing husband because I know he likes Joe Bonamassa. We drove 8 hours from Cape Breton Island, NS Canada to see him perform in Bangor Maine at an excellent venue btw. I had such a good time listening to him and his band and listening to his guitar solos left me with my jaw on the floor. IMPECCABLE. He made an instant fan out of me and my husband LOVED it. My husband ALMOST caught a guitar pick that Joe threw to the crowd too, which would have been the cherry on top. :) Joe is a must-see 10/10.

  • Full of Soul, Deep on Feel

by Topfueler on 2018-11-27Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

When we get to hear and see Joey B. perform, this show our 4th in Toronto, you stare in awe at such a wizard of his artistry. We are pretty sure the hair on the back of your neck will stand straight up! He grabs you by the ears and mesmerizes you into submission. The Wizard laid down some super tasty, and nasty blues-laden rock on this night. With a band playing behind him that has a big league pedigree, Joey put on a virtual guitar clinic. This show was all about STYLE. Whether it's Joe's incredible guitar techniques and style, the way the band just gelled, or Joe's fashion style, it was full marks all around for this one. Vintage guitars and amps on parade. The guy can wail! Lightning fast fingers flying up and down the fretboards as he made those guitars sing for us. His backup ,BIG SOUND all the way from two aussie back-up singers Jade MacRae and Mahalia Barnes, Wynans hammering the organs, played with StevieRay, drummer Anton Fig (Letterman Band),Rhodes on bass, brass horn section Cerra on sax( Stevie Wonder, Billy Preston and Lee Thornburg (Supertramp, Tower of Power) on trumpet. Three Decades of music and this show TOP MARKS!!

  • Joe Bonamassa at the Sony Centre

by Anonymous on 2018-11-06Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - TorontoRating: 3 out of 5

Well, all I can say is disappointed! I've seen Joe four times in the last 2 yrs and the first was definitely the best, and it seems to have slid downhill since then. The sound at the Sony Center was terrible until half way into the third number to start the show off! They started at about 8:10 PM and were calling it a night and walking off stage at 9:50? Not even a solid two hours of entertainment? They did come out for an encore, but the song they did must have been aimed at putting the crowd to sleep! I just got up and left! Joe spent a ridiculous amount of time just standing out in the spotlight, showing the crowd his amazing ability to perform a wide range of guitar tricks and neat sound effects, rather than perform some of the amazing songs and music from his extensive list of albums and several years of experience. This concert helped me make a decision. I'll just stick to the smaller venues and more local Canadian artists for my guitar music fix and entertainment. Spending the kind of money I did for this Bonamassa show, is done!

  • Awesome Blues

by SweetdaddyHiles on 2018-11-06Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

This is the 4th time we have seen Joe Bonamassa, he is definitely our favorite artist for so many reasons. Two hours of solid hard driving Blues from one of the greatest guitarists of all time , A band that is highly talented and some legends in their own right . A powerful, soulful set of Blues and rock that takes you on an amazing ride from the first note . We have seen over 300 artists performances over the years and Joe is in both of our top 3 performers of all time . Just an amazing show and talent . If you have never seen Joe live your missing out .

  • Amazing as expected..my birthday present to myself

by ScottyR on 2018-11-05Canadian Tire Centre - KanataRating: 5 out of 5

With one of the world's top rated guitarist on venue, one would not expect anything else but a spectacular show...and it delivered! Band was top notch, from horns and Auzzie background singers to Antoine (Letterman) drums, his regular and long-time bass/rhythm partner and SRV's keyboardist to accompany JB. Fantastic night. Thought there would be more interest....I believe only 2200 at CTC. Possibly would have been better suited at NAC venue. All in all...a great night.
