Kd was amazing as always. For me, I did not know that Lindi was opening up for her. Lindi is great as I saw her at the folk feat. I just wanted more singing from k.d. Herself.

    Best concert ever

by ElBow on 2012-09-14Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

Standing ovation mid-concert--when does that ever happen? This was an outstanding concert in an excellent venue. I've not seen k.d. lang in concert before now. Her vocals are chillingly arresting. Her sense of whimsy in her banter with the crowd and her band was refreshing and honest. I loved how she enjoyed the irony of the Miss Chatelaine performance. k.d. lang is an extremely versatile, complex and compelling performer.

k.d. is one of a kind. She is funny, energetic, bold and Hallelujah brought me to tears. I am so proud that she is Albertan.

Truly, k.d. is one of the best!

by DoJoWo on 2012-09-14Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

To say we had a memorable evening is an understatement. Her presence, her wit and her humour ... so entertaining. AND HER VOICE! She has such depth and warmth ... both personally and when she sings. She can sing anything ... like an angel.

    Just Awesome

by Scooter22 on 2012-09-14Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

k.d.lang is by far one of the best female entertainers. Her show was amazing, and her voice gets better and more powerful with age. She wowed the crowd and we gave her the standing ovations she so deserved. I hope I get the chance again to enjoy another one of her shows. She is an awesome woman with a great sense of humor and a voice that can send shivers down your spine...

    k.d. you are unforgettable!

by vantam on 2012-08-22Commodore - Vancouver

This concert was one of the most enjoyable ever...talk about up close up and personal! She has incredible energy both physically and emotionally and she shares it all with her fans...the most hands on lady. My family and I were also thrilled by her performance at the Burnaby Roots and Blues last summer...we are all huge fans including my 12 year old granddaughter...Hubby and I were first entertained by this vibrant lady before she was famous...happened to walk into a bar and there she was...even danced on our table!

I cannot say enough about how amazing this show was. The crowd was off thier feet throughout the night and kd and her band of utterly talented band-mates delivered completely and then some. The vocals were outstanding, the music amazing and the night memorable... Thank you!

k.d. lang & The Siss Boom Bang - WOW!

    by ellee8ch on 2012-07-09Commodore Ballroom - Vancouver

I'd never seen k.d. lang live before, only tv specials and music videos. I've always thought she has a fantastic voice and really 'gets' the music she sings whether she wrote it or not. She is one of the few performers who can grab each member of the audience with a single note and spin them right up into the heart of the music. I was anticipating this concert and it lived up to every expectation and then some.

K.D. Knocks it out of the park!

by jazzykate on 2012-07-08Vancouver Island Music Festival - Courtenay, BC

As usual Canada's treasure k.d. lang gave her all, the best voice of her generation without a doubt and such a generous performer for her audiences. I 'd go anywhere to see her but hearing her deliver "Hallelujah" under a summer sky in little old Courtenay B.C. Is the ultimate pleasure.

    Fabulous k.d. And her band!

by Larksong on 2012-07-06Commodore Ballroom - Vancouver

A robust and fast-paced set of the best of k.d. Loved it. Very satisfying evening . Milk Carton Kids are good, but their charm, harmonies and excellent guitar was a bit lost in the cavernous room with rude people chatting loudly all around me during the performance. bravo to the "Kids" for persevering!

    Fabulous talent/disappointing concert

by shaja on 2012-06-03Harrah's - Cherokee, North Carolina

I attended KD Lang's June 2, 2012 concert at Harrah's in Cherokee, N.C.. My friend and I traveled from middle Ga. and were very excited to hear her in person. While multitalented KD is beyond wonderful, and her band fabulous, the concert ended in disappointment for us. First of all, whoever was in charge of the lighting needs further instruction as the lights were blinding several times during the concert. Secondly, she along with her band exited the stage at 8:30. They did reappear for her to introduce the band and sing a few more songs and then left for good at 8:45. When the lights came on and I realized that the concert was over WELL short of an hour, I was very disappointed. Even though KD and her band are incredible, we felt cheated. This was not my first rodeo. I have never attended a concert that was that short in length before. Possibly, it ended early so that people who attended the concert could have time to gamble. If that is the case, I would have liked to have been informed prior to purchasing the tickets as gambling was not my purpose for making the trip. I would never have paid full ticket price and traveled so far for a 45 minute concert. I had also arranged for a hotel room thinking that we would be tired after the concert. We could have easily driven back home. I don't know if all of her concerts are this short or if I should be annoyed with Harrah's. I won't attend another KD concert until I find out for sure. If it had lasted 11/2 hours I would rated the concert with 5 stars-even with the blinding lights.

kd lang is spectacular!! She's one of the best songtress of our generation. She's very engaging with the audience. Her performance, however, is beyond greatness. I had seen kd performs many times before. Her interpretation and presentation of the songs are never the same but with the same greatness. She's simply head and shoulder above her peers in her genre.

k.d Lang and Siss Boom Bah Band

by Jeanettio on 2011-10-03University At Buffalo Center for the Arts - Buffalo

I was disappointed. Having seen k.d. in the late nineties at the Hummingbird Centre in Toronto, I remember her show as one of the most entertaining two hours I have experienced. Her voice was smooth and almost hypnotic. Inbetween songs, she spoke casually with the audience. I truly felt fulfilled and became a fan for life. This time was much different. The band played great music, however, I think they over-powered k.d.'s voice. The type of music she sang was focused on the band's style, not hers. Even her torchsong, Constant Craving , was vamped up and not ever her sweet voice could overcome the band's excessive volume. Why did she do this to us? I will add that I will not buy another k.d.Lang ticket if she is touring with this band. I do not like what happens to her music when they play along with her. there were so many people in the audience that were older than me, I can only imagaine they became friends based on her duets and torchsongs, not the rock-a billy , high decibel stuff we were treated to at the concert, What a waste of a precious voice.- it was all but drowned out by the 'noise ' of the band. =(
