I LOVE K.D., however , I was disappointed with her song selection sets - she only sang three of her well known hits, they rest was a promo for her new album. I respect her talent and artistry (like Neil Young) though, you go to these concerts with the expectation of hearing a "selection" of their all time hits and come away slightly let down. The crowd in Boston seemed to love it - so I suspect it was a slightly cultural preference or difference coming all the way from Toronto. This show WILL not go over well at Massey Hall and I passed along my sentiments on the way out to one of her crew. Teddy Thompson didn't fit the mix at all and the only person I noticed who seemed to appreciate him - a lady at the back - got evicted. A few of his songs were quite humourus, his performance was not.
Absolutely beautiful voice - Fantastic concert - nice to hear some of the old stuff like Paydirt.
It was everything I expected and more. What an incredible voice. Her band is also talented and should be commended as well.
We saw KD Lang some 30 years ago in Edmonton when she first started out and twice since then. She certainly did not disappoint. Her rendition of Alleluliah was flawless and the long standing ovation verified that. She has a very talented and versatile back-up band. What was disappointing was the opening act. I would certainly see her again.
K. D. has always been a favourite. The Siss Boom Bang adds another dimension to her concert. Blown away again!
I have never experienced a concert with this combination of creativity and professionalism. Perfection in every way. And what made it even more wonderful was that KD and her band seemed to enjoy it as much as we did!!!
Was really LOUD. As a "grey head" amongst many other grey heads, found it very loud, but her voice did soar above the loud backing group. Total effect was surround sound loud.
k.d. lang is an amazing performer whose comfort onstage was evident and her shear joy of entertaining the audience was palpable, but it was the amazing talent that she possesses in a voice that resonates such emotion, that struck me most.
