About

Katy Perry is a globally renowned pop artist and 13-time Grammy nominee. She began her music career as a gospel singer before making her pop debut in 2008 with One of the Boys. The album peaked in the Top 10 on the Billboard 200 and spawned Perry’s first No. 1 hit with the Grammy-nominated "I Kissed a Girl." Perry quickly skyrocketed to pop icon status, achieving unprecedented success with her 2010 album Teenage Dream, which hit No. 1 and earned a Grammy nomination for Album of the Year. The album also produced five consecutive No. 1 singles with “California Gurls” (featuring Snoop Dogg), “Teenage Dream,” “Firework,” “E.T.” (featuring Kanye West) and “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.).” In 2017, Perry made history by becoming the first artist to earn three RIAA Diamond Song Awards for “Firework,” “Dark Horse” and “Roar.” Perry now has seven diamond-certified titles. Her distinctive style, blending provocative lyrics with catchy pop melodies, has made her one of the best-selling music artists in history, with over 70 million albums sold worldwide. Beyond music, Perry has expanded her career into television, serving as a judge on “American Idol,” released her own fragrance with Killer Queen and was the subject of the 2012 documentary Katy Perry: Part of Me. In 2024, Perry released her seventh studio album, 143, which features the lead single “WOMAN’S WORLD."

From start to finish, Katy's concert "experience" was amazing!! She put on a show that at times felt like we in a movie, at a concert, at a Broadway musical and singing in a Karaoke bar! Thumbs up and I would definitely go again!!

  • KATY PERRY IS OVER THE TOP!

by Rochey on 2011-07-21Rogers Arena (formerly General Motors Place) - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

loved loved loved this concert. She was on fire! It was everything I expected it to be, and more. The stage production was incredible, and her actual singing was pretty good. I'd heard that her live performances were lacking in talent and energy, but that was not the case for this show. Her quirky personality allows her to connect with her fans on their level. I highly recommend this show to every single Katy Perry fan. Although a word of caution to parents- she sings Ur So Gay and Peacock, and there is some crotch grabbing. Nothing too racy, just be prepared.

I thought the opening act was not a good act to open for Katy. She needed something more fun and light. DJ skeet skeet was great. Waited a long time for Katy perry to start. Katy was amazing live!!

  • Amazing Entertainer!

    by DW0506 on 2011-07-21Scotiabank Saddledome - CalgaryRating: 5 out of 5

Katy Perry is an amazing Entertainer. From the background storyline, incorported in to her set, the interaction with the Fans, and the thing I enjoyed most her sense of humour! Katy had me singing along, dancing, and laughing through out the night. Not only did Katy sing she danced, acted, and also performed an Amazing Quick-Change Act. She had us the fans thinking what will she be doing or wearing next? It was Awesome, and I really do hope she comes to the Stampede again!

by KatieKupKake on 2011-07-20MTS Centre - WinnipegRating: 5 out of 5

Katy Perry put on a show that can't be forgotten. With good vocals and a constant connection to the audience, she couldn't go wrong, she played all of her greatest songs, and even some unexpected ones. She was energetic and bright, and very adorable. BY FAR! the most amazing concert i've ever been too!!!! :D

Katy Perry was an excellent concert. She is very funny and engaged with her audience. Not to mention the number of costume changes (some even done on stage).

  • A night I wish I could relive again and again!!!!

The Katy Perry concert was absolutley amazing. Everything about it made it feel like the most amazing dream a person could have full of cotton candy, lollipops, and of course Katy Perry. First of all Katy Perry is not only an amazing pop artist and singer, but she is also a great actress. Throughout the concert she helped connect all of the songs into one story which really made the dream feel alive. What also helped this happen was the video on the screens beside the stage that played every 3 to 4 songs that had Katy Perry acting along with other characters in a dream while she is trying ot find Kitty Purry. The video was very fun and entertaining and helped bring all of the songs together. What I also highly enjoyed about Katy Perry's concert was her costumes, they were so neat and it was really cool to see how many times she changed throughout her concert. I counted 14-15 times and 5 of them were in one song (hot 'n' cold). Her costumes were also so unique and they helped her to really play a role with the song. Some examples of her costumes were a black cat costume, a peacock (which was on of my favourites), her lollipop costume and many, many more. The lighting and the stage set also really brought everything alive. This includes Katy's whole entire set theme which really looked like a dream full of cotton candy, lollipops, rainbows and everything else in between. The lighting was incredible and there was such a variety. Some of my favourite lighting in the concert was during the song E.T. It made me feel like I was in outer space. Katy Perry was also so interactive with the audience and she did so much on stage. She was inviting people from the audience up on stage, got them dancing, found her "cowboy" from th audience invited him up on stage and told him to take off his shirt (it was probably one of the best times of his life). The different things that she did on stage included her floating over the audience on a cotton candy cloud, sitting on a swing high above the stage while singing high above the stage, sliding and dancing across the stage, you can trust me on this, she did almost absolutley everything. What I also loved about this concert was how Katy didn't just sing the whole time but she also talked alot to the audience about her experience at the Stampede, the rides she went on, and all of the deep fried stuff that she ate. She is a very sociable person that is fun to be around. She also had fun doing all of her cowboy impersonations, but my favourite line that she said was, "I also watched uh, you all know, those Little House on the Prarie carts?" She was describing chuckwagons and it was hilarious. To finish off the night with an encore she played California Gurls which was amazing. I have only described less than half of what I saw and liked at the concert because some of it I can't even put into words. Katy Perry really made the California Dream really come alive for Calgarians and I really hope she comes back next year. I love you Katy Perry! :)

  • Amazing

Very very interactive with the audience, very entertaining. Awesome show all together.

  • Janelle Monae

by Carrs on 2011-07-20Rexall Place - EdmontonRating: 4 out of 5

I think Kate Perry could have had better opening acts. Janell Monae, although has a great voice, just didn't suit the Kate Perry concert. The DJ was good to, but really a DJ! I think opening acts were kinda lame for that concert! Only giving it 4 stars cause Kate Perry was good, the rest was NOT!

  • katy was awsome!

I already was a pretty big fan of Katy. She put on an excellent show and talked a lot to the crowd! Loved the candy/Wizard of Oz theme too.

It was very well done and enjoyed by all! The only thing I could suggest is that you try to have all apparel at each place. I had through two lineups to get what we wanted.
