I found the concert very slow. I had big expectations as I really like Katy as a singer and a person. I actually enjoyed the last two songs...she had finally brought out some life.

About
Katy Perry is a globally renowned pop artist and 13-time Grammy nominee. She began her music career as a gospel singer before making her pop debut in 2008 with One of the Boys. The album peaked in the Top 10 on the Billboard 200 and spawned Perry’s first No. 1 hit with the Grammy-nominated "I Kissed a Girl." Perry quickly skyrocketed to pop icon status, achieving unprecedented success with her 2010 album Teenage Dream, which hit No. 1 and earned a Grammy nomination for Album of the Year. The album also produced five consecutive No. 1 singles with “California Gurls” (featuring Snoop Dogg), “Teenage Dream,” “Firework,” “E.T.” (featuring Kanye West) and “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.).” In 2017, Perry made history by becoming the first artist to earn three RIAA Diamond Song Awards for “Firework,” “Dark Horse” and “Roar.” Perry now has seven diamond-certified titles. Her distinctive style, blending provocative lyrics with catchy pop melodies, has made her one of the best-selling music artists in history, with over 70 million albums sold worldwide. Beyond music, Perry has expanded her career into television, serving as a judge on “American Idol,” released her own fragrance with Killer Queen and was the subject of the 2012 documentary Katy Perry: Part of Me. In 2024, Perry released her seventh studio album, 143, which features the lead single “WOMAN’S WORLD."

Katy Perry rocked Rogers Arena!
by Miss999 on 2011-07-22Rogers Arena (formerly General Motors Place) - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5Katy Perry was amazing! She charmed the audience with her cheeky personality, was flirty, fun, and sang every song bang on. The sound was great. It was my daughter's first concert and one she won't forget. Everything was a visual treat: Katy and her candy-coated costumes, her dancers, the band and the "Candy-land" backdrop. Even the fans were decked out in pink and blue wigs, lollipop bras, and waived glow sticks stuck inside cotton candy. This concert was a professional stage production and I was really impressed. Had a great time and would definitely see her again!
katy perry
by koifish79 on 2011-07-22Rogers Arena (formerly General Motors Place) - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5Katy Perry was very good and the DJ that opened was also very good but Janelle Monae put you to sleep.

Katy Perry Knows How to Entertain!
by runner1 on 2011-07-21Rogers Arena (formerly General Motors Place) - VancouverRating: 4 out of 5Katy Perry had great interaction with the audience throughout the show. She sounded great and she performed all her hit songs during her almost two hour show beginning with "Teenage Dream" and finishing with the encore of "California Gurls". Katy made memorial moments for several fans by inviting them onto the stage during "I Wanna Dance with Somebody". She had the audience rocking during "Hot N Cold" and made several amazing costume changes at the same time. The crowd was electric during "Firework" and real fireworks made the performance spectacular.
Fantastic Performance

Crowd Pleaser!
by VanKid on 2011-07-21Rogers Arena (formerly General Motors Place) - VancouverRating: 4 out of 5The show was pretty amazing! Katy changed costumes so many times (8 times in Hot n Cold alone!) while still managing to keep the crowd interested and excited with a story playing on the large screens while she went backstage. The pre-show 'smooch cam' was really cute, and a really great way to set the mood for everyone, along with the amazing smell of cotton candy blasting through the arena. Katy played all her hits old and new, including Ur So Gay, which I was not expecting (: . Katy seemed genuinely happy while on stage, and seemed down to earth while joking around on stage with her backup dancers, audience members, and just with herself. Loved it! The only reason I don't give this 5 stars is because of Janelle Monae. I believe she has talent, but her style of music wasn't suitable in such a large venue.
Amazing Show
by Disneyloo on 2011-07-21Rogers Arena (formerly General Motors Place) - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5Katy Perry was amazing. The colour, the costumes, the dancers, the set was a spectacle to see. Katy interracted with the audience throughout and her energy was fantastic. I loved that she invited audience members up to the stage. Shows that she loves her fans!
Katy Perry, good, well coordinated
by ShibuyaCrow on 2011-07-21Scotiabank Saddledome - CalgaryRating: 4 out of 5Overall the Katy Perry concert was good, with personal flares thrown in coordinating with the local events occuring at the tiume (cowboy theme on some things/costumes coordinating with the calgary Stampede) The worst part about the experience was purchasing the ticket through Ticket Master. THEIR SYSTEM FOR SEAT SELECTION/CONFIRMING YOU'RE NOT A BOT SUCKS. Awful monopolistic b@st3rds..... Katy played her biggest hits, and overall maintained great energy throughout the whole concert. There isn't a massive amount of variety in her music, So unless if was for a brand new album I'd think twice about going back to the same concert. But I would go back for her stage presence (and a seat with a better view). So much of her concert had fine detail in it (ie costume and dance coordination) that unless you're on the floor, you don't see much of it other than through the mega screens.... and I didn't pay $70 to watch a TV.

Very fun concert. Katy performed and sang really well. Pretty much what I expected with crazy costumes, dancers, sparkles, sequins, lights and fireworks.

My First Concert Ever
by corrigan on 2011-07-21Rogers Arena (formerly General Motors Place) - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5Katy Perry concert was amazing! I loved how many outfits she changed into during the concert. In one of her songs she changed her outfit like six times. At least this concert for was unforgettable and my friend.
Creative Katy
by Elliebaby on 2011-07-21Rogers Arena (formerly General Motors Place) - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5The evening was fantastic! Janelle was an amazing singer and entertainer. She will be a superstar herself one day. The intermission wasn't dull because they had a DJ come on and get the crowd pumped up! Katy's show was more of a story similar to the Wizard of Oz.The stage was set up like a candy land with her outfit being a dress with giant lollipops that spun. She had several outfit changes that went with the song she sung. Her backstage dancers were excellent also wearing bright colored candy outfits. Katy had a swing setup that she was elevated on and also had a candy floss cloud that went atop of the center of the crowd. She ended the show with her song Fireworks and then of course fireworks lighting up the stage. The encore was California Gurls. She connected the audience by inviting various people on stage to dance with her. While she changed, they would play part of a video of the story to introduce the next song. Very entertaining and imaginative. Good job!
awsome show

Katy Perry
by Pamzygirl on 2011-07-21Rogers Arena (formerly General Motors Place) - VancouverRating: 4 out of 5My almost 13 year old daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed the show. The costumes were crazy and Katy was a delight to listen to and watch. My only complaint was the fact that the laser style lighting from the back of the arena made it virtually impossible to take a good picture unless you have amazing photographic skill and camera. The rest of us plebians had to settle for glare.
She was AMAZING!!!!
by CountryGalHoney on 2011-07-21Scotiabank Saddledome - CalgaryRating: 5 out of 5The concert was fantastic. Her costumes were awesome. She had a lot of costume changes but they were quick so you weren't waiting. She was really good live. And she chatted a bit and was cute and funny. Loved the concert. I would see her again for sure. Really good show. :)

Katy Perry - a real Firecracker!
by AuntieW1 on 2011-07-21Rogers Arena (formerly General Motors Place) - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5I took my 2 nieces to their first concert, Katy Perry in Vancouver on Tues night. What a ride! Best concert in years and my nieces were thrilled. Stage show, set design, lighting, special effects were awesome! Katy Perry was a pleasure! She had such a great rapport with the audience.. young & old! Great timing and she still appears to enjoy singing all her standards. Songs were well positioned through the set and no vocal strain at all! Even better than last month's Rhianna show.
