About

Katy Perry is a globally renowned pop artist and 13-time Grammy nominee. She began her music career as a gospel singer before making her pop debut in 2008 with One of the Boys. The album peaked in the Top 10 on the Billboard 200 and spawned Perry’s first No. 1 hit with the Grammy-nominated "I Kissed a Girl." Perry quickly skyrocketed to pop icon status, achieving unprecedented success with her 2010 album Teenage Dream, which hit No. 1 and earned a Grammy nomination for Album of the Year. The album also produced five consecutive No. 1 singles with “California Gurls” (featuring Snoop Dogg), “Teenage Dream,” “Firework,” “E.T.” (featuring Kanye West) and “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.).” In 2017, Perry made history by becoming the first artist to earn three RIAA Diamond Song Awards for “Firework,” “Dark Horse” and “Roar.” Perry now has seven diamond-certified titles. Her distinctive style, blending provocative lyrics with catchy pop melodies, has made her one of the best-selling music artists in history, with over 70 million albums sold worldwide. Beyond music, Perry has expanded her career into television, serving as a judge on “American Idol,” released her own fragrance with Killer Queen and was the subject of the 2012 documentary Katy Perry: Part of Me. In 2024, Perry released her seventh studio album, 143, which features the lead single “WOMAN’S WORLD."

  • Katy Perry was purrrfect!

by Wisedwarf on 2009-07-27Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Great costumes! Great set! One of the few performers who will actually talk to the audience. Though her skits were melodramatic (during her cover of Please Mr. Postman), they were intended to be over the top, just like Katy Perry. She is a performer not an actor. Her ballad while playing solo with just her acoustic guitar demonstrated her vocal abilities. I would definitely attend another Katy Perry concert. Opening acts - New Cities and Stereos were good, the latter being much better. Both bands' showmanship complimented Katy Perry's style.

  • Katy Perry was mind-blowing!!!

by Maki on 2009-07-27Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

First off, Katy's opening bands really got the mood starting. New Cities is one of my favourite bands now. After them, Stereos took the stage and got everyone pumped. They did an autograph signing afterwards and people had doubts that Katy could top her opening acts. However, as soon as she came on stage the doubts were gone thanks to her entertaining quips and strawberry balloons and happy quirky personality. She's somebody you would want to party with like WOW. She's a crazy girl I love her. The weather wasn't great but the day's events over powered the rain. By the end of the concert everyone felt great and had an amazing time. Thanks Katy!! :)

Katy Perry's concert last night was extremely good and definitely worth going to. Even though this is her first time touring, I feel she did a good job and really connected with her audience. I would for sure recommend this concert to people I know who enjoy her music.

  • An all round great concert

Not even the rain could drown out the amazing energy and vibe from the Katy Perry concert last night. It was an amazing show! The Stereos were great, and i loved their 'I Gotta Feeling' cover, and Katy was fabulous, getting personal with the fans and making the show an unforgettable night!

  • Katy Perry is a Hoot

by SneakyJ on 2009-07-27Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Katy Perry is maybe not something you'd bring a child to, but damn does she put on a rowdy show! Katy is highly entertaining with her witty stories and comments. Her vocals are great, especially when she slows it down with just her and her acoustic guitar.

  • Katy Perry is adorable!

by BellaSoul on 2009-07-27Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

Katy Perry is an intriguing blend of spicy and sweet. She has an wide-eyed adorable girl next door demeanor, wrapped in a body-bearing jumper package. The show was fun and entertaining, and Katy can really sing! I had a blast.

  • Katy Perry rocks Toronto!

    by lola3131 on 2009-07-27Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

Definately was a night to remember. She puts on an incredible show and her set is really cool too, set up like her album cover. Although some people say shes not very good live, I thought she sounded amazing! Katy knows how to get the audience going and plays her music with such enthusiasm. The best part is that she is confident with who she is and you can see that when shes performing but its not overly confident. Its just right! I think even if you go in not liking her that much, you will come out a huge fan. She just knows how to please an audience. Her costumes were really cute too. The best one was the pink leopard print that she came out in at the end. It was really cool because right at the end of the concert, she actually goes down into the audience and starts talking with someone who had waited to get too the front overnight! It was definately worth the money to go and see her!

  • Katy Had Amazing guests!

  • kitty purry fun

by neesh on 2009-07-27Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 3 out of 5

I just bought tickets to the show for Katy Perry, definitely not the opening acts. The rain really dampened (pardon the pun) the experience. I liked the setup of her stage and the lighting was pretty great, as our seats were in the 400s and we could still see it all. She comes on with a lot of energy and is quite candid in her jokes and small-talk trying to energize the audience. Her singing was also on par with her actual radio songs so all in all I had a good time.

  • Katy Perry can Entertain!

by ClaireGee on 2009-07-27Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

Nice to actually see a live performance at a live performance. No lip synch...no million costume changes....no beefcake back up dancers. Just good music....pure voice.....fun show. Look forward to your next visit Ms. Perry!
