About

Heading downunder as part of Parkway Drive’s Reverence tour, Massachusetts metallers KILLSWITCH ENGAGE have unveiled two epic and intimate headline shows this October-November!

At the turn of the century KILLSWITCH ENGAGE spawned an entire genre with their earth-shattering debut, ‘Alive or Just Breathing’, earning the esteemed title as the Godfathers of Metalcore.

Built organically from the most potent components of melodic, heavy and catchy-as-hell European death metal and the essence of the most grimy, urgent and forever yearning American hardcore, the brilliantly individual KILLSWITCH ENGAGE have come to define a generational shift equal parts inevitable and by design, as cultural earthquakes and uprisings often are.

“… how metal is supposed to be heard….live and loud, pummelling your eardrums, and sending a rush through your body” – Heavy Mag

Joined by Justice For The Damned (Sydney Only), who back up every statement made with their Greyscale Records debut, 'Dragged Through The Dirt', Hysteria Mag calling it a “dark, abrasive, and supremely volatile listening experience” and Ocean Sleeper (Melbourne Only), hot off recording their debut album in the USA, among building a loyal fan base with their chart topping debut EP ‘Six feet Down’.

For these two epic headline shows you can expect a killer career spanning set from KILLSWITCH ENGAGE complete with chugging riffs, high energy and a hunger to perfect their attack on the movement they created.  Having sold out shows on their previous tour, don’t miss your chance to see metalcore giants KILLSWITCH ENGAGE tear up these intimate venues.

“Killswitch Engage have once again warmed cold, black, metal hearts around the country”- Wall Of Sound

  • KSE FTW!!

    by dmak98 on 2009-09-10THE ARROW HALL - MississaugaRating: 5 out of 5

All 4 bands kicked some major ass. Between the Buried and Me played a solid set to start off. I really enjoyed Protest the Hero's set. The crowd took to them really well considering they were booed off the stage a few years ago. In Flames tore the roof of the place and the pits were massive. But no one came close to the mind blowing set of Killswitch. Howard started off a little shaky. Not sure if it was his voice or the microphone but he pulled it together and destroyed the crowd. Nobody rocks as hard as KSE

In general the entire night was amazing. All four bands played a stellar tight set. I am a big fan of all four bands too In Flames, Killswitch Engage, Protest the Hero an Between the Buried and Me. In my opinion Between the Buried and Me put on the best show which suprised me, they were the first band to go on and had an awesome sound quality, everything was clear and perfectly mastered. The singer, guitars bass and drums were all crisp. Not to mention their songs are crazy. In Flames was the most fun though, (I'm biased towards them.) The are the most perfect band live I've ever seen no mistakes ever. Anders (singer) is a great guy too and really likes hearing the crowd sing along and 'dance' as he calls it. KSE what can I say there crazy guys, Adam (guitar) dressed up like a half superman, half stripper lol. He was hilarious and the lead singer is great with vocals, very energetic crowd with that set. Protest's singer was drunk and burpinginthe mic etc. Kinda lame but the band was tight and singing was perfect in lou of him being smashed. Their sound guy didn't do them justice though, the quality sounded like crap. Could barely hear the drums or bass, and vocals were semi-hard to hear, it was all shrill guitar. Beyond that probably one of the best concerts ever.

  • In Flames Dominated!

    by Digger1987 on 2009-09-10THE ARROW HALL - MississaugaRating: 5 out of 5

This was by far the single most amazing and powerful display of raw skill and talent that I have ever seen! The abilities and attributes of each of the band members is without comparison and I believe they are the best live performers this generation will ever get to see. Simply put In Flames has burned itself into my memories as the most bone shattering, soul shaking, fist pumping performance I have ever seen. IN FLAMES WE TRUST!

  • Killswitch Engage just blew my mind!

by eagleMatt on 2009-09-10THE ARROW HALL - MississaugaRating: 5 out of 5

This is the third time I've seen Killswitch Engage and each time they get better and better. this show was amazing from start to finish. Unlike most bands who, while touring for a new album play most of the new songs, KSE played all their hits plus the singles off the new self-title album. The crowd was very into the show and Howard had them eating out of his hands. The last time I saw KSE live Adam D was recovering from back surgery. This time he was back in full form, cape and all. I should also mention it never hurts to have a great band like In Flames open up for you as well. In Flames played a good set. I'm not a huge fan of theirs so I didn't know most of the songs, but it was a great performance anyway. I highly recommend everyone who likes Metal, Rock or just a good time check out a Killswitch show. It's worth it!

  • In Flames steals show

by xtrtrek on 2009-09-10THE ARROW HALL - MississaugaRating: 5 out of 5

What a concert! Huge fan of In Flames, and they did not dissapoint.... absolutley amazing performance. KSE was pretty good as well, but In Flames was an impossible act to follow. Protest the Hero was terrible, but we were expecting that. Arrow hall needs to figure out their smoking area..., and the bar setup was kind of retarded (show ID 3 times to get a drink???), but all in all a great venue and an AMAZING show!

  • freaking awesome

Even though security didn't catch me wen i was thrown over the barracade, it was still awesome. I would see Killswitch Engage again for sure.

Great Venue, Good acoustics. The opening acts were all good and Killswitch was amazing. I thought the staff was good as well. I crowd surfed on several occasions wihtout hassle. I would Highly Recommend this venue and those bands to anyone.

  • In Flames would've made a better final band

by Treebie on 2009-09-10THE ARROW HALL - MississaugaRating: 3 out of 5

Don't get me wrong, Killswitch put on a good show, lots of energy -- plus a golden cape on the guitarist! But In Flames just generally rocks hard, so... they should've been the final band for the night. Leave on the highest of high growls. But that's just me talking as an In Flames fan. In Flames set, though, I found was a little lacking this time around. I've seen them every year for the past 5 years in Toronto, and they never fail to deliver a high-energy event, but it just felt like it lagged a little at times... one too many slower numbers. Protest the Hero was pretty decent, as was Between the Buried and Me (though not a huge fan of either, they ARE good live). The venue was Arrow Hall - an old aeroplane hanger. So it was pretty big. They had about 3 food&bev stands along the back, which made it semi-easy to get a bite or a drink between sets. For booze, you had to get a wristband, purchase drink tickets, which you could then redeem for drinks. So essentially, you had to line up 3 times before you could have a beer -- not worth it. The sound quality was a little off, probably because of the size of the venue. Seemed a little hollow-y, almost. Nothing too overt, especially if you were standing under the speakers or moshing. Getting to Arrow Hall, unless you have a car/ friend with a car is a bitch and a half. My biggest beef with this venue is the location. It's way out of the way, and not on any convenient transit routes. But if you go with friends, it's all good, eh? :)

  • In Flames = GOD

    by Hayley27 on 2009-09-10THE ARROW HALL - MississaugaRating: 5 out of 5

Although Between the Buried and Me played a very short set, they were great! Protest the Hero was great as well. In Flames, although it was my third time seeing them, were so incredible. I know every time I go to see them its going to be a phenomenal show! Killswitch was also very good, they have a lot of energy and it was very enjoyable! Overall, it was one of the best shows I've seen all year!
